Chapter 126: Chapter 126 Going Out Together_1
"Nothing to be embarrassed about. Su Zi asked me to come. I didn’t come here as a favor to Qi Cheng." As he said this, he glanced at Qi Cheng, obviously still holding a grudge.
He clearly remembered who had fallen out with him over Ji Yunhuan!
Qi Cheng gave him a look but didn’t apologize. After all, wasn’t it Bai Liyan who should apologize?
Watching how close Ji Yunhuan and Qi Cheng were, Bai Liyan smirked, "Looks like Mr. Qi is in a good mood today!"
"Not bad, thanks to you."
Qi Cheng calmly opened the car door and let Ji Yunhuan in. "Let’s go!"
"Chen Chen." Ji Yunhuan didn’t forget her little brother.
"He’ll sit in the back with me," Su Zi said.
"He rarely goes out. I don’t feel comfortable. I want him with me," Ji Yunhuan felt as if her brother was being taken from her.
"It’s fine. I’ll be with him. Isn’t Leilei riding with you? That little girl is so noisy. Let’s not let her bother Chen Chen," Bai Liyan clearly took Su Zi’s side.
Even though she knew he cared about Su Zi, seeing them team up to take Chen Chen away left Ji Yunhuan feeling sour.
It was like watching a cabbage she had grown get transplanted into someone else’s garden.
Qi Cheng noticed she was staring at Su Zi’s car. He knew she was reluctant.
Ji Yunhuan was a total sister’s boy.
But there was no other way.
He took her hand and comforted her, "Let’s go! We still have to pick up Leilei, right?"
Leilei was waiting for them back home.
Ji Yunhuan got in the car, visibly unhappy. "Chen Chen used to cling to me the most. Growing up changes everything!"
Now Su Zi’s word was law.
"It’s good he’s becoming independent. You always said it would be nice if he found a girlfriend. You wouldn’t be his only reason to live anymore."
He said this when Ji Yunhuan had almost died.
She didn’t expect Qi Cheng to remember it so clearly.
"Yes, that’s true. Having someone else to care for him might not be a bad thing for him."
"Then cheer up a bit."
"I still can’t be happy. If it were anyone else, I’d be a bit happier."
Why Su Zi?
Why did it have to be Su Zi, who she had a grudge against?
Leilei had already packed up early in the morning and was waiting for Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan to pick her up.
Elder brother was home today. He sent Leilei out and said to Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan, "Sorry to trouble you these couple of days. The little girl gets grumpy in the mornings. Don’t be too polite with her. She’s spoiled."
Leilei stood by, listening to her dad talking badly about her. She got into the car, very displeased.
"Leilei, aren’t you going to say goodbye to Dad?" The elder brother found her reaction amusing.
"Goodbye," she pouted, clearly still annoyed with him.
She held her tablet the whole way, playing on it.
Halfway there, Qi Cheng looked at her, "Leilei, you’ve played long enough. Take a break? It’s bad for your eyes."
Leilei didn’t even lift her head.
She completely ignored Ji Yunhuan.
She had just thrown a fit.
Although she was over it, her pride still lingered.
"Did you hear your uncle talking to you?" Ji Yunhuan frowned, sounding very serious.
She knew the little girl had a strong personality. Elder brother spoiled her, and others found it hard to manage her.
Even Qi Cheng’s words were ignored, so Ji Yunhuan had to be a bit harsh.
Leilei glanced up at her.
She seemed to be gauging how serious Ji Yunhuan’s anger was.
Seeing that Ji Yunhuan was only being stern, she continued to play on her tablet, not taking it to heart.
A pair of hands reached over and took the tablet from her hands, "Do you realize you’ve been playing without blinking for over an hour?"
She never relented when it came to things that were good for Leilei.
Kids who didn’t take care of their eyesight now would quickly become nearsighted later.
Leilei pouted and said to Qi Cheng, "Uncle, she’s bullying me."
She referred to her as "she," not "Auntie."
"Oh, spoiled by your father for a couple of days, and now you don’t even recognize Auntie?" Ji Yunhuan teased.
"Meanie, I’m not talking to you." Here she went again.
"Auntie’s doing it for your own good. You should listen," Qi Cheng sided with Ji Yunhuan.
Seeing no one to defend her, Leilei felt upset, "Uncle, Auntie has corrupted you. I’m not talking to either of you."
She covered her face and leaned against the car window, hiding her expression.
Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan exchanged a glance but didn’t respond to her.
After a while, muffled sobs started to come from Leilei’s side. Ji Yunhuan finally looked at her, "Crying?"
"Go away, go away. I don’t want to talk to you. I don’t want you..." She kept pushing Ji Yunhuan away, her eyes red and her face streaked with tears she had wiped with her small hands.
Initially, she hadn’t cried, hoping Ji Yunhuan would comfort her. But Ji Yunhuan just kept talking to Qi Cheng, making her angrier and angrier!
As the youngest princess of the Qi Family, she had been pampered by everyone her whole life. Whenever she got mad, there would be a crowd of people to console her. Now, someone actually dared to ignore her.
Even Qi Cheng got corrupted by Ji Yunhuan; how could she not be hurt?
"Don’t be mad, darling. Come, let Auntie hug you." Ji Yunhuan knew that if she didn’t appease Leilei now, the little girl would make a fuss endlessly with her personality.
Leilei didn’t want to be hugged, but Ji Yunhuan still held her firmly in her arms.
At first, Leilei struggled a bit, but after all, she was just a child, and soon she stayed still in Ji Yunhuan’s arms.
"Let go of me!" The childish voice was filled with fury.
"No," Ji Yunhuan spoke to her gently, "Are you really angry? Auntie is also doing it for your own good, isn’t she? You can play, but take a break and I’ll give it back to you, okay?"
"Hmph." Clearly, she wasn’t listening to Ji Yunhuan.
"Then let your uncle hold you," Ji Yunhuan handed her to Qi Cheng, who frowned and refused, "I don’t want to hold her."
"..."
Two pairs of eyes, one big and one small, looked at Qi Cheng.
Ji Yunhuan didn’t expect him to say that.
Leilei didn’t expect her uncle to reject her.
Qi Cheng glanced at Leilei, "Girls shouldn’t always let men hold them. Even if it’s uncle."
"Ugh..." Leilei, feeling rejected, threw herself into Ji Yunhuan’s arms and started crying harder. For the first time, she began to doubt her life.
Because not only was she neglected, she was also disliked.
Seeing her crying excessively, with her small shoulders shaking, Ji Yunhuan felt helpless.
At this moment, Qi Cheng’s phone rang. He answered it, "Elder brother?"
Almost instantly, Ji Yunhuan noticed Leilei quiet down in her arms.
She perked up her ears, listening carefully to what Qi Cheng and her dad were discussing.
"Is Leilei behaving? Not giving you trouble? She seemed like she was a little grumpy earlier."
