Chapter 121: Chapter 121 Your friend is not bad_1

But he still sat down and looked at Chenchen. "How has your health been recently?"

"Pretty good, thanks for asking, brother-in-law."

"Have you eaten?" Ji Yunhuan looked at her obedient younger brother.

"I have." It was already after one in the afternoon.

Ji Yunhuan had just woken up.

Su Zi looked at the two of them and could tell that the relationship between Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan seemed much better than before. She said, "You woke up too late."

"Because I didn’t sleep last night, so..."

As Ji Yunhuan explained, she noticed Su Zi’s gaze becoming strange. "So intense upon returning..."

That suggestive look made Ji Yunhuan realize she had misspoken. She quickly explained, "My friend was sick, and I went to see her. I came back in the morning." She looked at Su Zi. "Are you a little girl? Your thoughts are too complicated."

She was older than Chenchen, but did she really understand so much?

"If you didn’t complicate things, how would you know I did?" Su Zi retorted.

Ji Yunhuan was speechless looking at her.

But Chenchen got along well with her. These days, Su Zi had kept Chenchen company, saving Ji Yunhuan a lot of trouble.

Apparently unhappy that Qi Cheng was being so nice to Ji Yunhuan, Su Zi didn’t stay long before standing up and declaring, "I’m going back."

Chenchen did not follow her, watching her leave.

It was just as well; otherwise, Ji Yunhuan would be really annoyed.

Chenchen stayed for a while longer before leaving.

The servant had already prepared breakfast for Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan.

During the meal, Ji Yunhuan noticed that Qi Cheng wasn’t saying much. "Are you unhappy?"

She didn’t think she had offended him!

Qi Cheng glanced at her, recalling how she had coldly pulled away from him when they got out of the elevator. "Holding my hand embarrasses you so much?"

With those words, Ji Yunhuan understood.

She took a sip of soup, calmly saying, "I didn’t want Su Zi to be upset."

She tried to be nice to Su Zi, thinking maybe Su Zi would let go of her grudges and not be too harsh on Chenchen.

"When did you start caring about her feelings?"

"I don’t want to hear her say weird things."

"She’s just a little girl. Why do you care?"

"Don’t you care about her at all? She’s Su Molang’s sister. Don’t you have any concerns?" Ji Yunhuan glanced at him. "To you, Su Molang should be your best friend, right?"

Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so concerned about Su Zi.

Qi Cheng said, "Don’t worry about her anymore."

"Why?"

"Just like if the Gu Family doesn’t like you, are you still going to live?" Qi Cheng held her hand tightly. "Su Zi doesn’t like us being together, but I want to be with you. Besides, she’ll understand."

"Oh."

He held her hand. "Next time, if you pull away when I hold your hand, I’ll be angry."

"I understand." In situations like this, she didn’t want to argue with him.

Since she had mentioned the Gu Family, Ji Yunhuan thought about their unresolved issues.

She couldn’t help but glance at Qi Cheng.

"Gu Family... have you thought about what to do?"

He had said before that once the Gu Family matter was settled, they would divorce. She didn’t want to bring it up, but now...

Her relationship with Qi Cheng was less strained. She really wanted to know the Gu Family’s fate. Otherwise, she wouldn’t feel at ease even when going out.

Qi Cheng firmly said, "I won’t forgive those who want to hurt you."

He lowered his head and gently touched her cheek. "These days, I kept thinking, if that day I hadn’t reacted in time to save you, I would have lost you forever. If the world didn’t have you, how boring life would be."

Thinking about how he liked her but hadn’t told her yet felt extremely regretful.

So he particularly hated the Gu Family.

Though he appeared calm, Ji Yunhuan could feel his anger, no less than her own.

This shared anger made Ji Yunhuan feel comforted. It was rare to have someone on her side.

She squeezed Qi Cheng’s hand. "Thank you for saving me."

Because of that, no matter the outcome, she wanted to love him.

Even if he abandoned her in the end?

She decided to face it all.

In the evening, Ji Yunhuan went to the hospital to see Wen Nuan, and Qi Cheng insisted on going along.

Thinking about how Qi Cheng heard things he shouldn’t have last night, Ji Yunhuan felt awkward. "You shouldn’t go. Anyway, you don’t know Wen Nuan well."

"If you consider her a friend, of course, I want to see her. What, am I so shameful?"

"I didn’t mean that." Unable to explain, Ji Yunhuan had to compromise.

When they arrived at the hospital, Zhou Muqing was there with Wen Nuan. Seeing Ji Yunhuan and Qi Cheng enter, he quickly greeted them, "Mr. Qi, Mrs. Qi."

"We’re all friends here, no need for formalities." Whenever Qi Cheng was around, others tended to be more reserved. Ji Yunhuan tried to lighten the mood.

She put down the fruit basket, looking at Wen Nuan, who seemed to be in better spirits. "You look much better now!"

Wen Nuan smiled. "I just told my husband that if it weren’t for you, who knows what would have happened!"

"It was nothing. The important thing is you’re okay."

Wen Nuan said to Ji Yunhuan, "Come here. I need to talk to you."

Ji Yunhuan knew it was because of the two men.

She moved closer to Wen Nuan.

Zhou Muqing tried to make small talk with Qi Cheng.

Lowering her voice, Wen Nuan said, "I thought Mr. Qi wasn’t good to you, but it seems he treats you quite well, following you everywhere."

Ji Yunhuan knew he treated her well. She couldn’t help but glance at Qi Cheng, meeting his eyes.

He looked at her briefly before looking away, hiding how affectionate he could be.

Leaving the hospital, Qi Cheng asked, "What were you talking about me?"

"We weren’t talking about you!"

"If not, why did you look at me?" His instincts were sharp.

Ji Yunhuan raised her eyes, scrutinizing his handsome face. "Does it mean I can’t look at you?"

"Your friend is nice." Qi Cheng suddenly said.

"How is she nice?" It was rare to hear him approve of someone around her.

"Because she always speaks well of me." He appreciated Wen Nuan.

Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but laugh. "That’s your reason for thinking she’s nice? If she didn’t speak well of you, would that mean she’s bad?"

"She wants you to be happy with me. For that alone... I think she’s very nice." Qi Cheng earnestly held her hand.

Ji Yunhuan smiled, walking out of the hospital with Qi Cheng.

As soon as they stepped out, they heard a familiar voice. "Sister Yunhuan."

Turning around, they saw two figures standing at the hospital entrance. It was Ji Min and her mother.

Seeing her and Qi Cheng, they quickly walked over.
