Chapter 101: Chapter 101 The Most Vulgar Way to Apologize_1

Ji Yunhuan glanced at the servant behind her. "What’s going on?"

The servant stifled a laugh and said, "It was all arranged by the gentleman. He knows you’re angry and is apologizing to you, hoping you won’t be mad at him anymore. Madam, he’s really kind to you. You should forgive him!"

Ji Yunhuan knew that Qi Cheng was referring to their previous argument about Su Zi.

Although she did not hold it against him because of his illness, she was still very upset.

The presence of Su Zi here had become an indelible pain in her heart.

Even though she had decided not to quarrel with Su Zi for Qi Cheng’s sake, she couldn’t pretend nothing had happened after recalling Su Zi’s attitude earlier.

"Where is he?" Ji Yunhuan asked.

He sure had a lot of free time.

Maybe he used to coax women like this all the time?

Just as she finished speaking, Qi Cheng appeared. He stood at the doorway, looked at Ji Yunhuan, and smiled, "Are you looking for me? Does that mean you’re not mad anymore?"

Ji Yunhuan glanced at the huge bouquet of roses. "Don’t you think this is awfully tacky?"

"Girls all like tacky things." All women were like this.

Even though she found this gesture tacky and cliché, she still couldn’t resist it.

Ji Yunhuan shot him a glance, walked into the house, and coldly said, "You should have them removed. I don’t like them."

Qi Cheng followed her in, closed the door, and hugged her from behind. "Do you really not like them?"

Ji Yunhuan’s body stiffened.

He seemed to be able to see through her thoughts.

She was indeed not as angry as she was when she first came up.

She glanced at the large mass of flowers and said, "You don’t need to do all this for me."

"You’re my wife. I want to make you happy. Isn’t that normal?" He gently held her tighter.

Ji Yunhuan’s heart softened because of his gentle attitude.

She realized that it wasn’t the roses that moved her, but his tenderness.

If it were before, she would have dismissed such actions as insincere. But she couldn’t forget how this man had almost lost his life for her, nor could she forget how, even when seriously injured, he still worried about her well-being.

She didn’t want to admit she liked him, but she couldn’t help but be touched by him.

Frowning, she scolded, "Why aren’t you resting properly? What are you doing? Do you care at all about your own health?"

"When you stormed out in a rage, did you think I could relax?"

His gentleness made it hard for Ji Yunhuan to stay angry. She said, "I just wanted some time alone. It’s nothing."

"You’ve been alone for two hours, which proves you’re really mad." Qi Cheng said, "Are you still mad now?"

"Yes, why wouldn’t I be?" Ji Yunhuan said. "I ran into Su Zi downstairs earlier. Do you know what she said? She told me she was with Chen Chen just to hurt him, to deceive him. She didn’t deny it, which proves she really hates me. I don’t even know why she hates me so much..."

"She’s just a kid. Sometimes she says things out of anger. Why would you believe her?" Qi Cheng knew that Su Zi was often stubborn on the outside but soft at heart.

Ji Yunhuan chuckled lightly. "Right! She speaks out of anger, but in your eyes, she’s always a good person. You don’t believe she could be so bad."

"You see, you’re getting agitated again, aren’t you?" Qi Cheng said, "I’m just expressing my view. You can’t say I’m entirely wrong. The grudge between you and Su Zi isn’t something I have a stance on. But you should trust Chen Chen sometimes. Though he’s simple, he’s incredibly astute and rarely misjudges people. When we got together initially to deceive him, he was well aware of it."

"What did you say?" Ji Yunhuan was stunned.

Qi Cheng smiled and said, "What? You don’t believe it? Do you remember when we had a huge fight, and I said I wanted a divorce? Why did I forgive you even though I was so mad? Because Chen Chen came to find me and asked me to treat you well. In your eyes, he’s just a kid, but actually, he’s not. While you think you’re protecting him, don’t you realize he protects you most of the time? When Su Zi hurt him, and I took her side, he didn’t say a word and just left with you. He’s the most perceptive person here. So even if you don’t trust me, you should trust him once."

Ji Yunhuan was incredibly shocked by Qi Cheng’s words. She had always thought of Chen Chen as an innocent younger brother. But she hadn’t realized that he knew she and Qi Cheng weren’t genuinely in love at first. Yet, Chen Chen had never mentioned this to her.

That night, at dinner, Su Zi was also present.

Qi Cheng looked at Su Zi and asked, "How’s school been for you recently, Zi?"

Su Zi nodded, "It’s okay."

"You’re not used to being here yet, are you?" Qi Cheng said, "If you encounter any problems, remember to tell me."

Su Zi looked up at Qi Cheng and said, "Why are you suddenly concerned about me?"

Saying this, she glanced meaningfully at Ji Yunhuan.

Qi Cheng knew that Su Zi understood what he meant, so he went straight to the point. "I heard you argued with Yunhuan today?"

"Oh, so Brother Qi Cheng is here to protect your wife? What, you think she’s been wronged?" It had only been a few days since Qi Cheng had said he would divorce Ji Yunhuan, and now he was protecting this woman.

Su Zi was quite displeased.

As expected, beautiful women were like vixens.

She hated Ji Yunhuan.

Qi Cheng said, "Chen Chen is a good kid. Don’t hurt him."

Su Zi’s expression turned a bit unpleasant.

Not being trusted by Qi Cheng made her very unhappy.

Su Zi said, "How have I hurt him? Which day haven’t I been accompanying him recently? I’ve been so devoted to him, and in your eyes, I’m hurting him?"

"Then those things you said to Yunhuan today..."

"I just like to talk like that. So what?" Su Zi stood up angrily. "Forget it. I’m going back to my room."

Ji Yunhuan watched her leave in silence.

After dinner, Ji Yunhuan went to see Chen Chen and found him sitting alone by the window, waiting for something.

Was he waiting for Su Zi?

Ji Yunhuan walked over, "Chen Chen."

He turned around and showed a gentle smile, "Sister."

"I thought you were resting. Turns out you were waiting for me?" She deliberately pretended that Chen Chen wasn’t waiting for Su Zi. She didn’t want to believe that in such a short time, Chen Chen had developed other feelings for Su Zi.

She knew Chen Chen was very lonely, and few girls had been so patient with him.

So he was easily moved.

But even after what Su Zi said during dinner, Ji Yunhuan still didn’t believe her.

After all, Su Zi acted one way in front of her and another in front of Qi Cheng. However, Ji Yunhuan only believed her own eyes.
