Chapter 34: Chapter Thirty-One (Seattle Arc #1)
ERWIN
Leo is looking like he is about to make a run for it. I observe the large palace before us, which is looking like it has been cast out of a live horror movie just a moment ago up and down with a horrified look on his face. Just looking at his pale face, I can tell that his blood has gone cold in his veins. Nobody but only Ruth and I know just how scared Leo is of ghosts and shits.
Leo gets scared if he just hears something moving around in the middle of the night. Never mind if it’s a human or a mouse or actually a ghost. He is the kind of person who bolts at the sight of the nun from TheConjuring 2 and let us not mention a hotel that might be full of ghosts from the outside, anyway.
"Let’s go in." John beckons, oblivious of the fact that Leo is shuddering internally from the sight of the hotel.
I notice Ruth constantly looking over his shoulders worriedly. Maybe he is worried that Leo is too scared to even move his feet.
"Yes, let’s go in." Leo forces a smile and at last very reluctantly moves his feet.
We enter the spacious hotel lobby. It’s quite luxurious for a hotel that seems haunted from outside, I must admit. John tells us to wait and himself goes to the reception at the end of the red themed hotel lobby. After a few minutes John comes back to us with a conflicted expression.
"Umm hey guys..." John tries to avoid our curious gazes, "I think... we have a problem."
"What is it again?" I frown, "Everything about this trip is a problem anyway."
John grins nervously before saying, "We have got only three suites."
"What?" The three of us exclaim in unison, "Only three? Why?"
"Well...you see, my father booked two suits for couples and one is an extra in case we need it." John scratches his cheek, sure enough he is going to get a beating from me.
But I think his father has a point. If his father booked two tickets for Leo and I then why would he book two different rooms for us? Aren’t we supposed to be a married couple? Isn’t it normal for us to live together in one room? And for John’s case he and Steve will share a room and it doesn’t take a genius to understand the fact.
Even so the circumstances are different now. I and Leo have gotten into a fight, so no way we are sharing a room. So, what will be the outcome of the shortage of rooms now?
"It’s okay, John." Leo waves impatiently, "It only makes sense. You take a room for you and Steve and make the alphas room together and at last I will take the vacant room. Simple."
There is something wrong with Leo. He is sweating too much and his face is quite red too. There is a weary expression on his face as if he is so scared of something. And I can smell a lingering scent of chocolate and whisky coming from Leo. It’s his pheromones.
I am quite astonished that Leo is releasing his pheromones in a place like this because he is very wary of letting people smell his pheromones. And the way Ruth is rubbing his nose and scrunching it up, it’s quite evident that he can too feel Leo’s pheromones and it is making him uncomfortable.
"No it’s not!" Ruth and I protest together, "I am not rooming with him."
I oppose Leo even though he has a point. If I don’t room with Ruth I have two options left. 1. Stay with Leo. 2. Stay with John. And none of them is as convenient as rooming with Ruth. Because I can’t just shamelessly squeeze into one room with Leo even if I don’t have any shame left in me after all these years and John is already taking Steve in with him. If I squeeze in there it would be so cramped. But even so I refuse to stay together with Ruth in one room. There is no guarantee what he would do to my innocent self.
"I don’t want to discuss it anymore." Leo states firmly, leaving no room for negotiation, "John, you have got the keys?" He turns his focus to John, who hurriedly rustle among the bundle of keys in his hand and hands one over to Leo.
"It’s raining quite heavily tonight." John tries to lighten up the mood between us awkwardly as we make our ways to our assigned rooms, "So, rest up for the night. We will head out tomorrow."
"Okay." We all acknowledge our host.
"And yes, be in the lobby in an hour." John turns around before stepping into his room with Steve, who is holding his hand like he might get swayed away by the waves of water if he let go of it, "Let’s have dinner together."
We agree with him and then retire in our rooms temporarily. But as soon as Ruth and I step into our room, we realize that we have a problem. And the problem is that we have got a glass bathroom just beside the room. If someone is taking a shower, we can get a clear view of them bathing from any corner of the room.
What the fuck John’s father was thinking while booking this kind of room?! Then again, I wouldn’t mind if Leo is the one showering there.
Was John’s father setting up a honeymoon trip for me and Leo? Maybe. Because his every set up is screaming it instinctively audibly.
"Erwin," Ruth calls out my name darkly, "get out of the room."
"You are the one who is getting out first." I counter in the same manner, "I am occupying the bathroom first."
We fix our determine gazes at each other and stare at each other for a bit then rip out our hand at the same time, "Rock, paper, seacors!" We bellow out together.
I bring out the seacors and Ruth brings out the paper. "I win!" I howl in delight. "Now get out you loser!" I tuck out my tongue a little as I mock him.
"Damn it!" Ruth cusses out. "Make it fast." He sneers as he pushes aside his suitcase and steps out of the room. He closes the door behind him with a loud thump.
I let out an evil laugh, "Ha, ha, ha." More than happy at my victory. Then I set my travel bag aside.
I slip under the shower, my head is clouded with many thoughts. Why was Leo emitting his pheromones like that in the public? He was looking a bit read too. What’s going on with him? There’s no way a ghost or fear can pull that kind of reaction out of him. Then what?
By any chance...is he in his heat?
For some reason my stomach clenches.
Omegas go into heat cycles once in a month. And when they do, their sexual desire increases drastically. They release their pheromones ceaselessly to attract alphas and to get what they want. There are two ways to suppress one omega’s heat. First is the most effective and safest way to suppress their heat and that is to have sex with an alpha and the second is to take some heat suppressive pills and medication.
The second is sometimes quite troublesome because omegas need to find out which pill suits them the best and suppress their heat. And if they don’t find something that is suitable for their body, their heat cycle sometimes gets worse. So, mating with their mates is the best option for them during this time.
But now that we are fighting, Leo can’t just come and beg me to sleep with him or I can’t go to him just like this.
Shit. It’s all that bitch’s fault. I want to see Leo in his heat. I want to taste him.
Suddenly my cock throbs painfully. And a low escapes my throat but I nearly jolt from the abrupt banging on the door.
"Who?" I call out but there is no response. "Who’s there?" I yell again but the answer is the same as last time. Silence.
I turn off the shower and wrap a towel around my torso then stem out of the bathroom. It’s only been ten minutes at most after Ruth has left to give me some privacy while I take the shower. I guess he is not that idiot enough to come back this early. Then who is on my door? Surely not room service. If it is them then they should have answered my calls.
I peek outside through the hole in the door. No one is out there. I turn around, assuming it was some kind of childish prank. But then all of a sudden, all the hair in my nape raises at the end. I am not alone in this room. Someone is here with me. Watching me. I sweep my head around to get a glimpse of my intruder. But as usual no one is there, escape me. I am as sure as the existence of oxygen in the air that someone is here. But they are not visible to the eyes and this is what amuses me even more.
I have a soft spot in my chest for all these unexplainable and paranormal things. They amuse me more than anything else on this earth. But the only thing I am worried about is Leo. He has the lowest tolerance for this sort of thing. Heaven knows how he will handle it throughout the vacation.
