Chapter 104: Chapter Eighty-Six

"So what do you have for us, John?" I lean forward to the screen to get a clear view of it.

John has agreed to help us with the matter with the traitor. He has recently come back from Ruth’s hometown with a ring on his finger. He said they got engaged there He seems really happy about the fact. He said that Ruth had proposed to him the night before New Year’s Eve and the next day they went out to buy a ring for him.

I can only picture how red and how happy John might be back then if he’s this happy now. I should have asked Joe for some pictures. Well, I don’t think getting pictures will be a problem as Leo says that he will get some from Aunt Augustha. Leo said that she is Ruth’s omega mother.

"Well, I have gotten a video." John drawls, his eyes flicking over Leo playfully for a beat, "I have a video of your uncle Jean, Leo."

The wrinkle between Leo’s brow deepens and his eyes narrow, "A video?"

I brought Leo with me since this matter connects him directly and he is the only person who can do anything about this at all.

"Yeah. Here." John plays a video on one of his screens and turns it slightly toward us, "Watch this."

There are two men in the video. One is clearly Jean and the other’s back is turned in the camera’s direction. The place is possibly in a slump because the environment around looks nothing like money and luxury. They are talking. No. They are arguing over something and Jean seems to be losing his temper gradually. He is looking pissed.

The other man seems to be trying to sell him something. A small packet is held in his bulky hand. There is some white content wrapped in a plastic bag. And the thing is seemingly a drug. And an expensive one over that because they are seeming to hold their fingers up as they argue. They must be bargaining over the prize or the quantity.

Suddenly another man enters the scene and his back is too turned to the camera. But for some reason, his silhouette seems too familiar but I can’t make out exactly who the person is. My eyes wander to Leo’s face who seems to be watching the video with a very grave intensity. The way his eyes dance when he looks at the silhouette makes it clear that he knows who the person is in the video.

The newcomer hands Jean a bag. And Jean gives the bag to the man standing before him. The man takes it and opens the zip. bundles and bundles of money are arranged in the bag. The man gives them a brief nod and wipes around and his eyes fall over the camera set behind him. He barks at the camera and the video is cut before the unknown man can turn around and show us his face.

"So what do you think?" John asks, a smirk playing on his lips, "Is it good enough?"

Leo shakes his head, "He is just drug dealing. How am I supposed to know that he is directly connected to the traitor? And other than that how did you get a video such as this?"

"It was leaked in the dark web and I dug it out," John replies so simply as if this isn’t a big deal at all when the website we are talking about is the dark web.

"And about the traitor, isn’t it obvious, Leo?" I chuckle. "Look, the one who was leaking the video on the dark web is none other than James. If Jean wasn’t involved then how was James involved? And then since there is a traitor in the office and he is passing information to James then Jean is the media between these two. If we can press Jean then we will have our culprit."

"But how do we press him?" Leo ponders over the idea, "And do you think Jean will give us what we want just like this? The lone thought of it makes it feel all impossible."

"Is it?" John pipes in, "But I don’t actually think it is. We can pressure him with the video." John suggests.

"But do you think he will be pursued?" Leo looks uncertain at the idea.

"We can do another thing then." I chime in, "Leave him helpless and then try to pressure him from all the way possible."

"And how are we supposed to do this?" Leo asks, contemplating the idea.

"John, do you have money?" I turn to John.

"Yeah. I have plenty of it. Why?" He asks.

"The shares of the company are currently down from the average." I start to point out the points and keys that will leave Jean vulnerable, "So you will do one thing for us."

"What?" John ask, his eyebrow rising, intrigued.

"You will first dig out all the dirt on him and then blackmail him." I start to explain the plan, "And then buy all the shares he holds." I swing my forefinger in the air.

"But how do I do it?" John seems to be bewildered, "I have never blackmailed anyone."

"Ha ha," I laugh, "But you are gonna do it for your precious best friend now."

"How is he doing this for you?" Leo pipes in, "He is doing all this for me."

"Yes, yes, am not doing anything for you asshole." John tucks out his tongue and makes a face at me, "I am doing this for my pretty omega."

"Who is your omega?" I hiss playfully, "Leo is my man." I wrap my arm around Leo’s perfect V-shaped waist and pull him closer to me until his body is flashed against me.

He yelps as my arm flexes around him, "What are you doing?"

"I am claiming my omega." I smooch his cheek like candy. "You feel so good..."

"Oh my, oh my, my eyes! Dear lord!" John presses his eyes with his hand dramatically and I giggle.

"You should get your man to do this for you John." I tease.

"Hah, as if." John rolls his eyes, and spins in his revolving chair, "You will tear him into shreds if he acts like that in front of you."

"You know me," I smirk.

"But you shouldn’t do it." Leo pinches my nose, "They love each other and they are already engaged. You can do anything to Ruth if he puts his hand on his man in front of you."

"But I don’t want to see his dirty hand on mu John!" I whine, "I still can’t forget how he made him cry."

"This is the past, Mr. Warner." Leo says, his lips pressed together in a thin lie, "And Ruth was too broken for doing that. So it doesn’t count."

"It does!" I protest, "He is such a fool who didn’t even know how he felt about him! How can I just let it go?!"

"I know he is a fool but he loves Jhn now and is taking the responsibility to make him happy so be happy and quit being a pest." Leo trails his finger along my refined jawline playfully.

I am quite enjoying the playful banter between us. "Hah, what if he does something like this in the future too? What if he says: "I am sorry John. I mistook my feelings for you and mistakenly proposed you to marry me."? Then what will happen?"

"Then he gets a beating from me. Simple." Leo drawls, biting his lip to prevent the smile from forming on his lips.

"This isn’t just ’simple’ Leo." I try not to chuckle too, "He will break John again."

"My, my, will you guys please stop this?" John chuckles and holds up his hand in the air as if to surrender. "This is the thing between me and Ruth. We can handle it just fine. We don’t need assistance."

I huff, "Really?" I eye him suspiciously, "If it were between only the two of you then why did you come crying to me after he broke your heart for the first time? Hmm?"

"Well, it was just an accident." John rubs the back of his neck, "A small misunderstanding. We are all good now and we will be good in the future too."

"Okay then." I shake my head, "I will wait for the moment until he actually breaks your heart and then you come crawling to me again."

"What are you guys talking about?" Ruth walks into the room, "Who is breaking whose heart?" He is still in hospital scrubs, it means he just got back from the hospital and came straight here.

"No one is breaking anyone’s heart," Leo says dismissively.

"So how was the day?" John spins around his chair and smiles at Ruth

"Sixteen hours long duty once more." Ruth sighs exasperatedly and something dawns on him. He turns to Leo, "Oh Leo I have your test result."

"You have? Why didn’t you call me to the hospital then?" Leo asks.

Leo went to the hospital this morning and gave his samples for the test.

"I was just being extra careful as you are pregnant again." Ruth’s expression softens.
