After they discussed the urgent matter for a while, An Xuyuan went to visit Li Chenmo’s house while Han Yuheng went to visit the villagers with extra rooms in their houses.

The rest of the production team staff stayed behind to help the educated youths dig up their items and supplies that were buried under the snow. As the night deepened, the snow fell harder. Despite the cold weather, everyone was sweating due to the heavy work.

Meanwhile, Li Chenmo and his family were woken up by the sound of bells ringing. Stirring from her sleep, Lu Jueyu murmured, "Husband, someone is ringing the bell."

Hearing this, Li Chenmo sat up and said, "I will go see who is coming at this time. You go back to sleep."

Lu Jueyu nodded, and after a moment, she drifted back to sleep.

Li Chenmo wore his thick jacket before going out. The moment he stepped out of his bedroom, the cold air hit his face, lessening his drowsiness instantly.

Checking his watch, he saw that it was one o’clock in the morning. Since someone was visiting at this hour, something bad must have happened. Opening the gate, he wondered who was coming.

Five minutes later, the gate finally opened and An Xuyuan said, "Brother Chenmo, I’m sorry for disturbing your sleep at this hour, but something bad happened. We need your help."

Hearing this, Li Chenmo stepped aside, gestured for him to enter, and said, "Let’s talk inside."

The two of them walked quickly and entered the living room. With the small brazier placed in the room, they could have warm water when they woke up at night. The coals in the brazier were left with some embers, so Li Chenmo added more coals to warm up the room.

After pouring a cup of warm water for An Xuyuan, he took his seat and asked, "Brother Xuyuan, what can I help you with?"

An Xuyuan sipped the water first before he said, "Brother Chenmo, the house of the educated youths collapsed due to the heavy snow. So, we are looking for a place for them to relocate until we finish fixing the house."

As soon as he said this, Li Chenmo replied, "Even if I have rooms, I won’t let them stay at my house."

The moment he heard this, An Xuyuan chuckled and thought that Han Yuheng was right about the Li family’s traits. He shook his head and said, "I know that you and your family will be unwilling to let others stay at your house. So, we plan to let the educated youths stay at the villagers’ houses."

Raising his eyebrows, Li Chenmo asked, "Then what can I help you with?"

"Although we can ask the villagers to share one room for the educated youths, they would complain for sure. So, we plan to give them some supplies as compensation," An Xuyuan said.

When he heard this, Li Chenmo understood and said, "If you need supplies, I can contribute some flour, fresh vegetables, and meat jerky. My family made lots of jerky from the wolf meat we hunted before."

Hearing this, An Xuyuan smiled and asked, "How many supplies can you contribute, Brother Chenmo?"

Li Chenmo thought for a moment before he said, "Around 50 kilograms of flour, 30 kilograms of fresh vegetables, and 10 kilograms of wolf jerky."

An Xuyuan nodded at his words and said, "That’s more than enough. Thank you for your contribution, Brother Chenmo."

"It’s late now. I will send over the supplies in the morning," Li Chenmo said.

Since he had reached his goal, An Xuyuan stood up and said, "Then I won’t bother you any longer."

After sending him off, Li Chenmo locked the gate and doors before returning to the bedroom. As for An Xuyuan, he didn’t return to his house but went to check on how the educated youths were doing.

Seeing him come back, one of the production team staff walked over to him and asked, "Vice team leader, how is it? Can we get the supplies?"

An Xuyuan nodded and asked, "Have they dug their things out?"

The staff shook his head and said, "We could only retrieve some food and clothing. The rest has to wait until the snow stops."

An Xuyuan nodded and said, "Has the team leader returned?"

"Not yet."

Looking at the pale-lipped educated youths, he added, "I will bring the male educated youths back with me first. The rest will have to wait until the team leader finishes arranging a place for them to stay."

"Okay."

After a brief conversation, An Xuyuan walked to the group of educated youths and said, "I have two empty rooms in my house. One room is enough for three to four people to stay. Who wants to stay with me?"

As soon as he said this, the female educated youths took a step forward. But before they could say a word, he added, "As an unmarried man, I will only accept the male educated youths."

The moment they heard this, the female educated youths were disappointed while the male educated youths were excited. Everyone knew that the vice team leader’s house was spacious, and he was a very neat and tidy person. Living in his house would be very comfortable.

After some discussion, ten male educated youths decided to stay at his house. An Xuyuan looked at them and said, "It will be crowded with five people in a room."

"Vice team leader, we have no problem with that," one of the male educated youths said.

They were tired and almost frozen stiff now. If they waited until Han Yuheng returned, they might have caught a cold, if not hypothermia. With this in mind, they were eager to share the room as long as they could have a place to rest.

Since they had no objection, An Xuyuan had no objection either. He nodded and said, "It’s almost dawn. Let’s go back first."

After he left, Han Yuheng returned with the villagers who agreed to let the educated youths stay at their houses. Seeing that only the female-educated youths were left, he quickly divided them and let everyone return for now.
