Male Inferiority and Female Supremacy in the World of Immortal Cultivation -
Chapter 385: 385. I want you, but you want my life.
Chapter 385: 385. I want you, but you want my life.
Yun Zheyue spoke casually, “Fellow Daoist, why do you hide in the shadows instead of showing yourself during this late-night visit?”
Fang Zhou found the woman’s voice truly pleasant, ethereal and melodious.
He chuckled, “You’ve misunderstood. I just couldn’t sleep at night, took a stroll, and happened to pass by.”
Ignoring Fang Zhou’s nonsense, Yun Zheyue continued, “Xu Xian is under my command. If there’s any offense, I hope you can forgive her. I will have her apologize to you. If there’s nothing else, please leave on your own and do not linger here.”
Unless necessary, Yun Zheyue did not wish to engage with an unknown Innate Realm individual.
But first, she needed to determine whether this person was targeting the True Mother God Sect intentionally or had arrived here by coincidence.
The former must be captured, the latter must be driven away.
“So she is one of yours, that’s great indeed.”
Fang Zhou sneered, “Your people hurt my friend and attempted to plot against me, causing significant spiritual harm and damage. I’m afraid even selling her wouldn’t cover the cost. It’s good that you acknowledge she’s yours; just give me some compensation and I’ll leave.”
Yun Zheyue pondered, “What compensation do you want?”
Fang Zhou was delighted, like a creditor finally meeting an honest debtor willing to pay.
He pointed towards Xu Xian and Jin Xihai below, “Just hand her over to me. Your maid looks decent too, that’ll be the interest paid to me.”
Now, he only wanted to clarify two things: to extract information from Jin Xihai about his senior sister’s whereabouts and to understand the purpose behind the clandestine support of male authority by the radical feminist organization True Mother God Sect.
Therefore, the two below were perfect. If the woman before him was wise enough to hand them over, a battle could be averted.
However, Yun Zheyue’s gaze turned slightly cold.
She was now certain that this person was either harboring ulterior motives or causing trouble deliberately, not here by coincidence.
This unknown adversary must be detained.
“Fellow Daoist, your appetite is too big, but I have a solution. Would you like to hear it?”
Yun Zheyue spoke softly.
Fang Zhou was curious, “What method? Tell me.”
Yun Zheyue surveyed the Bamboo Sea below, “This place is scenic. Why not rest here forever, and Xu Xian’s debt will naturally be written off.”
Fang Zhou was amused, “You are ruthless, lady. I just want your people, but you want my life instead.”
Yun Zheyue no longer wanted to waste words with Fang Zhou. With a gentle twist of her slender jade fingers, she formed an orchid finger print, gathering a large amount of water vapor between her fingers which transformed into a raindrop that she forcefully flicked out.
The raindrop pulled into a line, turning into a semi-transparent water thread that crossed the void, forming a long white mark in the rain, shooting straight at Fang Zhou.
Fang Zhou raised his hand and shot out an Invisible Sword Energy, striking the water thread head-on.
“Clang!”
Both being ethereal energies, upon collision, they emitted a metallic clashing sound.
The water thread was shattered by the Sword Energy, returning to a misty water vapor, but the Invisible Sword Energy was also dispersed.
This was the first time the indestructible Sword Energy had perished alongside its opponent.
Yun Zheyue flicked her sleeve, the rain lines falling before her bizarrely reversed direction, forming a dense barrage of rain arrows shooting towards Fang Zhou.
Fang Zhou channeled Vast Yang Qi and Ripple Divine Skill, launching a palm strike, dispersing the incoming dense rain arrows with golden ripples, blasting towards Yun Zheyue.
Yun Zheyue’s fingers lightly turned, rapidly condensing the surrounding rain into a thick water wall under her control.
This water wall was infused with Innate True Qi, as solid as steel.
The golden ripples struck the water wall, producing a deafening roar, forming a deep indentation in the wall.
The next moment, the solid water wall’s ripples were shattered into thousands of fine water droplets, driven backwards by the golden ripples.
Yun Zheyue flicked her sleeve, drawing a semi-circular Qi force, like a crescent moon blade, slicing the golden ripples in half.
This exchange was evenly matched, with neither side gaining the upper hand.
Yun Zheyue slightly furrowed her brows, realizing she might need to exert full effort to detain the opponent.
She gracefully raised her jade hand, drawing all rain lines within a hundred feet around her with her True Qi, converging them like a tornado with Fang Zhou at the center.
Each rain line transformed into a sharp arrow, in that instant, resembling thousands of sturdy crossbows and hard bows firing simultaneously, creating an impenetrable ring of rain arrows that instantly enveloped Fang Zhou.
Fang Zhou perceived that Yun Zheyue was getting serious. With a thought, the Xuanyuan Sword shot forth from the Bamboo Sea, instantly splitting into sixty-four swords.
The sixty-four Xuanyuan Swords surrounded Fang Zhou, spinning rapidly to form an impenetrable sword circle, moving so fast that the naked eye could only see a blur of sword shadows spinning.
The multitude of rain arrows then shot simultaneously, crashing into the sword circle with a thunderous roar, like a sudden summer storm, the pitter-pattering crash noises fusing into a continuous cacophony.
Numerous rain arrows filled with Innate True Qi were ground to pieces by the sword circle, the shattered rain droplets and vapor unable to even enter within half a foot radius of Fang Zhou’s body, completely isolated by the sword circle.
Yun Zheyue elegantly flicked her fingers incessantly, like playing the zither, drawing endless rain lines within a hundred feet around her, transforming them into arrows shooting at Fang Zhou.
Her realm was profound, with abundant Innate True Qi, and the rain falling from the sky was continuous. This intense assault seemed as if it could be sustained indefinitely.
Fang Zhou, however, slightly furrowed his brows, aware of the rapid depletion of his True Qi.
After advancing to the Innate, the only flaw was the limited amount of Innate True Qi. The vast Spiritual Energy could only be refined into a tiny bit of True Qi, often running low quickly.
Although the Fairy Talisman could aid in recovery, it couldn’t balance the expenditure and intake completely.
Fang Zhou didn’t want to remain on the defensive. He summoned Jin Shanshan to break through the rain, delivering a punch towards Yun Zheyue.
The substitute was invisible and intangible, the perfect tool for ambush.
Yun Zheyue didn’t sense the impending danger, but as Jin Shanshan’s punch descended, it was blocked by an invisible barrier when close to Yun Zheyue.
She had woven a True Qi Net around herself, keeping out the rain and deterring attacks.
This True Qi Net was soft and resilient, full of astonishing elasticity, dispersing most of Jin Shanshan’s punch force instantly.
“Hmm?”
Yun Zheyue instantly sensed the attack, lightly spinning her body to dodge Jin Shanshan’s punch that had already been largely neutralized.
Jin Shanshan, devoid of emotion, obeyed Fang Zhou’s command, swiftly delivering a barrage of punches, creating a denser mass of fist shadows than the myriad of rain lines.
Yun Zheyue hadn’t expected such an intense invisible attack, her figure instantly retreated explosively. With both hands pulling, the dense rain transformed into lines converging before her, stirring swiftly.
Each rain line infused with Innate True Qi was razor-sharp, pulverizing the rainwater and air in front.
Under Fang Zhou’s control, Jin Shanshan agilely evaded. Although the substitute was invisible and intangible, high-density True Qi could still inflict harm on it.
