Chapter 370: 370. All are drama queens

Over the years, the women of the Cultivation World have figured out a way to respond.

Every once in a while, they pool money together and post missions on the black market, hiring rogue cultivators to crush the male rights organizations.

This method of buying heads with money is very effective. Many male rights organizations are ruthlessly crushed by money-hungry rogue cultivators just as they are starting to emerge in the seedling stage.

So Fang Zhou’s question about who sent Zhou Yan is meaningless; one could say that hundreds or even thousands of people paid to hire her, all anonymously, and investigating them one by one would be time-consuming and not cost-effective.

Really rooting out these people would not only not have a positive effect but would very likely provoke public outrage and turn them into public enemies of the Cultivation World.

Zhou Yan received the task three years ago. She sent her trusted subordinate Zhu Feng to look for male rights organizations. In an ironic twist of fate, instead of finding existing ones, she ended up founding “Men’s Flower” with Luo Jingsong and Shen Hao.

At that time, Zhou Yan was confident she could take down these two jokers and complete her task in the process.

But she didn’t do that; instead, she planned to play the long game, using “Men’s Flower” as bait to continually attract men to send their heads in, turning a one-time deal into a long-term business.

After hearing this, Fang Zhou had an epiphany. So Zhu Feng was Zhou Yan’s subordinate, which explains his experienced and seasoned demeanor. He must have been shaped by Zhou Yan for a long time.

Zhou Yan’s idea was good, but unfortunately, the business didn’t go smoothly; the development of “Men’s Flower” wasn’t very successful, and in three years, it was just small mischief with only a few members.

Once Fang Zhou joined, Zhou Yan no longer wanted to continue this loss-making venture. She planned to close the net directly, letting Zhu Feng lead “Men’s Flower” into the trap she set three years ago.

But then the problem arose: “Men’s Flower” targeted Zhou Yan because of their big patron, Senior Li.

Zhou Yan claimed it was Zhu Feng who led “Men’s Flower” there, so in this contradictory situation, someone must be lying.

Zhou Yan also knows there’s a big patron named Li behind “Men’s Flower,” but only Zhuang Hongyu knows the specific identity. Zhu Feng’s attempts to probe have always been fruitless, so Zhou Yan originally planned to capture Zhuang Hongyu and interrogate him.

After answering all the questions truthfully, Zhou Yan attempted to plead but Fang Zhou swiftly chopped her down. Her daily crime of draining over ten men was reason enough not to let her live.

After chopping her up, Fang Zhou feared this person might resurrect, so he hacked her into pieces and buried them in a pit on the spot.

Seeing Fang Zhou’s brutality, where even after death, the enemy was desecrated, Shen Hao and Zhuang Hongyu shuddered together and believed Gou Cheng’s words even less.

If such a person is of the righteous path, then how casually defined is the righteous path?

No wonder he always wore a mask, never daring to show his face, nor reveal his real name – he must be a notorious demon!

“I just remembered!”

Zhuang Hongyu suddenly said: “Zhu Feng previously asked me to deliver a letter to Senior Li, there must be something wrong with that letter!”

Shen Hao looked at him in astonishment: “Then why didn’t you mention it earlier?”

Zhuang Hongyu showed a wry smile: “Zhu Feng said it was his private matter and didn’t want me to reveal it, so of course, I had to agree.”

Then the problem lies with Zhu Feng.

Everyone’s gaze fell on Zhu Feng in the distance.

Zhu Feng, beaten unconscious by a substitute of Fang Zhou, lay there senseless.

Fang Zhou used a golden flash to bring him over and a few slaps woke him up quickly.

The newly conscious Zhu Feng looked bewildered, and when he realized the situation, he immediately went weak at the knees, kneeling before everyone with tears streaming down his face, begging for mercy: “Brothers, I was only following Zhou Yan’s orders, under duress. Considering all the times we braved life and death together, spare me this once.”

Gou Cheng and the others felt both hatred and sadness; they hated Zhu Feng’s betrayal but felt sorrow that a brother who had faced life and death with them from the beginning approached them with ulterior motives.

Zhu Feng’s words only fueled Shen Hao’s anger; he stepped forward and kicked Zhu Feng to the ground, beating him in rage: “You dare speak, traitor! How many times did Jingsong save you, and you so viciously ambush him? You courted heartless betrayal, yet you dare ask us to spare you!?”

Zhu Feng dared not fight back and covered his face with his hands, screaming pitifully in a futile attempt to win sympathy with his wretched cries.

Seeing Zhu Feng protect his face, Shen Hao immediately grabbed it to pummel him.

Gou Cheng turned his head in reluctance, yet Fang Zhou admired Shen Hao’s actions.

A great man once said, treat friends with warmth like spring and enemies with the coldness of winter.

Sympathy for enemies is cruelty to oneself, especially for internal betrayals like Zhu Feng.

After a hefty beating, Zhu Feng was reduced to a swollen pulp, while Shen Hao, panting from exertion, demanded Zhu Feng confess about the letter to Senior Li.

Having no choice, Zhu Feng confessed truthfully that Zhou Yan instructed him to lure “Men’s Flower” to Yangzhou, but it was Senior Li who chose the target, a job Zhu Feng couldn’t take over.

So he devised a plan to send a letter under his name to Senior Li, claiming a blood feud with Zhou Yan in Yangzhou, hoping Senior Li would select Zhou Yan as the target for “Men’s Flower.”

Zhu Feng’s letter successfully persuaded Senior Li, making Zhou Yan the target for this action, and Zhu Feng completed Zhou Yan’s task, leading “Men’s Flower” into the trap.

Zhuang Hongyu sighed in relief: “I knew Senior Li wouldn’t set us up; he was duped by Zhu Feng into passing along false intel.”

The truth was now out, and the next step was how to deal with the traitor Zhu Feng.

Zhu Feng also realized this, kowtowing repeatedly in front of everyone, smearing blood on his forehead, inciting both anger and pain in Gou Cheng and others.

Zhuang Hongyu hesitated slightly, saying: “He betrayed us, but it didn’t cause a major disaster… if he truly regrets… perhaps we should give him a chance.”

Gou Cheng seemed somewhat swayed, whereas Shen Hao remained tight-lipped.

Seeing this, Zhu Feng hastily swore: “Rest assured, I’ll go into hiding, never setting foot in the Cultivation World again. I truly regret my actions, I beg you, please forgive me this once!”

Fang Zhou watched the trio with great interest, especially anticipating Shen Hao’s reaction.

Shen Hao didn’t disappoint Fang Zhou; he firmly stated, “I disagree. This heartless traitor betrayed us once; he can betray us again. Don’t forget, he knows our true identities.”

Shen Hao’s words left Gou Cheng and Zhuang Hongyu a bit undecided.

A grim flash appeared in Zhu Feng’s eyes, but his face mournfully declared: “Shen Hao, I know you’ve always looked down on me, and have grievances against me. Now that I’ve made a grave mistake, I don’t expect your forgiveness; let me end it myself.”

With that, he raised his hand and fiercely struck his chest, breaking his heart vessel, spewing blood and rapidly weakening, soon perishing.

The group hadn’t expected his decisiveness, catching them by surprise.

Shen Hao silently hefted his long knife and stepped forward as if to strike again, but Zhuang Hongyu suddenly blocked him: “Enough, let him keep a shred of dignity!”

Shen Hao said sullenly, “Step aside!”

Zhuang Hongyu held his ground, the two thus deadlocked.
