Chapter 382: Goodnews!

Chapter 382

"Guys, guys, guys!" Grey yelled as he bolted into the living room, eyes gleaming with excitement.

The entire family was gathered there—laughing, chatting, immersed in casual conversation—when Grey’s sudden entrance stole everyone’s attention.

"Great! And the drama queen is awake," Finral muttered loud enough for Grey to hear, earning himself a sharp nudge and a glare from Clarice.

But Grey didn’t care. His attention was locked on Yami. His eyes widened with anticipation, and a bright grin stretched across his face.

"Something feels different about you today," Yami said, squinting at him curiously. "You’re not gloomy or moping around. What’s going on? What happened?"

Then, as if sensing something beneath the surface, Yami narrowed his eyes. He shut them completely and inhaled deeply—sensing. The moment his focus peaked, a smirk curved his lips.

"Guess what, guys!" Grey shouted, practically vibrating with excitement.

"Incoming!" Yami suddenly shouted, his voice sharp as he whipped a small knife out of his pocket and hurled it at lightning speed toward Grey.

"What the hell?!" Grey yelled, panic flashing in his eyes. In a split second, his instincts kicked in.

Fwoosh!

Ki surged through his body like a tidal wave, converging in his arms. With a swift motion, Grey raised them above his head.

Clang!

The blade collided with his skin—but instead of cutting, it skidded harmlessly off with a metallic screech.

His skin shimmered faintly, hardened by the Ki flowing through it. Grey stood there, panting, trying to slow the pounding of his heart.

"What the hell was that for?!" he snapped at Yami, turning toward the others—who were staring at him with wide, stunned eyes and open mouths.

"Just had to confirm a little hunch," Yami said, grinning like a proud older brother.

"Yo... you actually did it?" Finral muttered, staring in disbelief. "You’ve cultivated your Dantian? You’re officially a Stage One Yun Warrior?!"

"And that is why the elders say, ’never judge a book by its cover,’" Yami chuckled.

Grey grinned and walked toward them, and in a flash, Millie ran up and leapt into his arms, laughing with joy.

"Yay! Now I’ve got two strong brothers to protect me from danger!" she squealed, nuzzling into his shoulder.

"Tsk. He’s still weak though," Finral muttered, folding his arms with a huff.

Yami stepped forward, his expression softening as he placed a firm hand on Grey’s shoulder. "I’m proud of you, kid."

Grey smiled. "So, are we going training today or what? I need to figure out how to control this Ki properly," he said, gently setting Millie down and flexing his biceps with exaggerated flair.

"Nope. Not today. Take the day off." Yami smirked as he turned away. "Your body’s still adjusting. Let the dust settle. Tomorrow, we begin real training—I’ll teach you how to infuse your limbs with Ki properly and maybe throw in a few martial arts moves."

"Where are you off to now?" Clarice asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.

"To the bathroom. I’m about to take a massive dump," Yami replied casually with a chuckle.

"Must you say that aloud?" Clarice groaned, giving him a deathly glare.

"Not my fault—you asked." He winked and strolled off, completely unfazed.

Vanessa turned to Grey with a curious smile. "So... what will you do with your day off?"

"I don’t know," Grey said, shrugging. "I mean, Yami told me to rest, but... I think I’ll head to the mountain for a bit. It’s peaceful, quiet... It’s kind of become my favorite place lately."

"Great! Let’s go together," Vanessa smiled as she shot out of her seat.

"Huh? Why?" Grey asked with a raised brow.

"I don’t know," Vanessa shrugged, then smirked. "Probably because I’m too bored."

"Me too!" Millie shouted, jumping up and down with a beaming smile. "I also want to go to the mountain top!"

"No, you don’t," Vanessa quickly interjected before Grey could say anything. "I mean, if you did, who would help Mum in the house?"

"Mum..." Millie croaked, turning to face Clarice, who had already stood up.

"She’s right. Come help me in the kitchen," Clarice replied with a knowing smile.

"Actually, Mum," Finral said as he stood up and walked over to Millie, gently ruffling her hair. "Let me and Millie go on our own outing. It’s been a while."

"You sure?" Clarice asked with a raised eyebrow, while Millie’s face lit up with joy.

"Yeah, sure," Finral smiled.

"Great! Millie, you go with Finral. I’ll go with Grey," Vanessa declared as she grabbed Grey’s hand. "Bye, guys!" she called out cheerfully as they bolted out the door, heading toward the mountain.

"Come on, Millie," Finral grinned, lifting her up in his arms. She giggled as they stepped out together.

"Kek! Kids," Clarice chuckled softly to herself, just as Yami strolled into the living room, stretching his arms with a yawn. His eyes scanned the now-empty room.

"Huh? Where’s everybody?" Yami asked, rubbing his belly with mild confusion.

"They all went on an outing. They probably won’t be back for a couple of hours," Clarice said with a shrug as she made her way toward the kitchen. Just as she turned, her hand was gently grabbed.

"How about we have our own outing... right here?" Yami asked with a cheeky grin.

"What do you mean?" Clarice asked, her cheeks flushing pink as she felt his arm slip around her waist.

"I mean, let’s spend some time together. It’s been a long time since we had a moment like that. Besides..." he leaned in slightly, lowering his voice to a teasing whisper, "don’t you think Millie is due for a younger sibling?"

Clarice’s face flushed an even deeper shade of red. She lightly elbowed Yami in the stomach, trying to stifle a laugh. "You’re crazy," she muttered.

"I know. I’m crazy," Yami said, gently pulling her back by the hand. Their eyes met, his tone turning softer. "Crazily in love with you."

With his fingers, he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and slowly, their faces drew closer.

In the next heartbeat, their lips connected—and they kissed each other passionately.
