As of Book 2 Chapter 36, this novel gets a 4.5/5 stars.

The story is well written, with characters that are fleshed out and expressive, a living setting that is moving on it's own around the main character, and a comprehensive and reasonable power system.

The story has it's flaws however. For one, the programming aspect of this novel's power system is, in fact, quite detailed. The author can and does program regularly, of that I am sure. For me, this is a plus. I like detailed power systems and titles that deliver on their promises. However, for some (likely most) the overexplained explainations of the programming logic of spells may get tiresome.

Another flaw is that this story does has a few plot-convenient events and contrivances that, while they do not detract from the story, aren't the best decisions the author could have made.

Finally, the vast majority of the story so far is the Protagonist and his friends cultivating (for lack of a better term) in safety. Not much action so far, though that might change soon.

These flaws are minor, and the story is really quite fun to read. For fans of low-action, intelligent characters, politics, and unique power systems.
