Chapter 550: Chapter 446: Apocalypse Supporters_2

"Rusted Crow? Truly a master of cunning." Helaphis looked appreciatively toward Igula, "You’re right, although the list didn’t specify, it’s widely believed that the reward for the First Gospel is to gain the highest authority in the Gospel System—even to listen to the Gospel for free—but the price is she must always maintain kindness, naivety, love, and other virtuous qualities, and thus the First Gospel never covets power, but considers issues from the perspective of the whole society."

"The doom of Elves, the dynasty of dragon descendants, have all experienced setbacks in reforms pushed by the First Gospel, followed by rumors of direct rebellion."

"That’s right," Igula said, "If it were another dynasty, indeed there might be deeply-rooted interest groups. But the Yisu dynasty has always been under the control of the First Gospel, even when succession happens to outsiders, there shouldn’t be any problems with obstructions."

"That is to say, even if the Princess died, the Gospel would still welcome its new Empress. The apocalyptic end forged by the future list is already the best outcome the next Empress could achieve."

The Sea Witch looked stunned at Igula, and Hanna also stared at the Swindler; the previously lively and cheerful atmosphere in the meeting room suddenly froze.

Although Ash didn’t know what was going on, he keenly sensed the mistress’s dissatisfaction, and took Liss to do push-ups between them—he was responsible for the push-ups, and Liss sat on his back to be cute, playing the peacemaker.

Igula and Hanna glanced at Ash, and the atmosphere relaxed slightly. The mistress said, "Rusted Crow, do you want to handle these negotiations?"

"I just want to remind the mistress that your original negotiation plan can no longer keep up with the changing situation," Igula said, "From the time the mermaids knew we were coming, you could no longer conceal your real objective. Instead of beating around the bush, it’s better to be upfront, as honesty is the most practical skill in negotiation."

"I never thought I would hear such words coming from Rusted Crow’s mouth, so if the Divine Lord later says he wants to save the world, I will not be surprised," Helaphis laughed, "So, do you really intend to kill the future First Gospel to allow Purple Moth to obtain the Divine Lord’s wish?"

The mermaids guessed right!

Or rather, from the moment they knew that Hanna had come to Nabistin to buy information, they already knew Hanna’s objective. Hanna was not the first to covet the Divine Lord’s wish; countless powers before her had tried to snatch the biggest reward in the Weaving Festival, including organizations like the mermaids who had long studied the rules of the Weaving Festival, and Hanna was just a new-era thief following in the footsteps of her predecessors.

Now the bizarre changes in the Weaving Festival made Hanna the only seed contestant; how could the information-trading mermaids not guess that Purple Moth might play a trick?

Looking back, Helaphis asked right off the bat, ’You want information about the Princess, don’t you?’ This was a naked probe!

Hanna extended her hand to Igula, signaling a transfer of negotiation leadership. Igula, not the least bit polite, told the Sea Witch, "Indeed. Moreover, our assassination of the Princess is also the future you hope for."

"Why do you say that? I have no quarrel with the Yisu royal family."

"But you have a quarrel with a stable society," the Swindler stared at the First Sea Witch, "Isn’t that right, ’Chaos Witch’ Helaphis?"

"Just because I will cultivate the chaos faction in the future, you conclude I’m antisocial?" Helaphis suddenly sank into the pool to swim, emerging soaking wet—the glistening sight as if to drill into Igula’s eyes, "Isn’t that rather childish?"

Igula’s expression remained unchanged, continuing on the elliptical, "You are not antisocial, but you are against terrestrial society. Or rather, the Sea Demons are a group that hates terrestrial society."

The faces of the Sea Witches turned pale, as if Igula’s sentence had leaped up and slapped them. Once the atmosphere tensed again, it was still Helaphis who raised her hand, staring darkly at the Swindler, "Oh?"

"Look around," Igula surveyed the surroundings, "Lavish carpets, bright lights, exquisite columns, with the utmost luxury in decoration... if it wasn’t said, who would know this place is a sewer?"

"Look at yourselves. Distributors of information throughout the Gospel, rightfully the rulers of the underworld, dreaded as the mermaids of the Shadow Court... if it wasn’t said, who would know you are just a bunch of Sea Demons forced to live in sewers?"

"You always try to portray yourselves as mermaids, but unfortunately, you are just a group of Sea Demons living in sewers, associating with rats, cockroaches, and bedbugs."

"You may possess astonishing wealth and be able to foresee hidden secrets of the world, but you will never gain the corresponding status."

"So you are the biggest supporters of the apocalypse," Igula said, "Only in the chaos of a coming era do you have the chance to leave the filthy sewers and establish your ideal marshland upon the land."

"Wait," Harvey asked curiously, "If they don’t want to live in sewers, why don’t they live in the sea or lakes?"

"Because we are information traders," Helaphis calmly explained, "For trading information, we must stay in the heart of the city; for secret deals, we must remain in the city’s shadows. Perhaps it was initially forced by circumstance, but it later became an unavoidable norm, and the sewers became our only option."

Ash couldn’t help but ask, "Then couldn’t you stop being information traders and live off developing resources in lakes and seas? Isn’t that your racial advantage?"

"Is farming, the human racial advantage, your ideal profession?" the Sea Witch scoffed, "Sea Demons can utilize their Prophecy talent effectively with the Gospel System, generating massive profits by selling information. We have no reason and can’t possibly refuse this gift, just as you can’t give up using the Gospel... No one can defy the environment, especially when it is designed by the Divine Lord."

"Rusted Crow, you were indeed right," Helaphis looked toward Igula, "On the day the ’Art List’ was announced, we couldn’t wait for the apocalypse to arrive."

Although Helaphis had guessed the malevolent intentions of the Sea Witches from various details, their cooperative attitude made Igula start to doubt, "Are you so eager for chaos to descend? Aren’t you afraid that you won’t rise amidst the chaos but instead be swallowed up by the tidal wave of the apocalypse?"

Helaphis laughed.

"Do you know the ’List of the Unfavored’?"
