Chapter 544: Chapter 442: Two Things

Void Realm, Sea of Knowledge.

A small boat suddenly emerged from a Vortex with Meiwa sitting on it, holding a small bat. Freyja immediately unfolded her Silver Wings and saw that the Void Wings had begun to take shape.

Now, even if she stopped creating Vortexes and adventured no more, staying in the Void Realm for about another month would allow her to fully condense her Silver Wings.

Although she had the help of the small bat, creating Vortexes was still a challenging task. First, they needed to encounter a creature of knowledge, then they had to precisely control their attacks to nearly kill the target, and finally, they had to track it until the target naturally died of exhaustion at sea, which would form a Vortex.

Accidentally killing the target, failing to keep up, or not encountering a creature of knowledge at all were all common occurrences. Having had the Secret Poison notebook for so many days, Meiwa had only successfully created three Vortexes.

"See, I will be able to condense my Silver Wings soon!" she said joyfully, holding the small bat, "Then I could also ascend to the Time Continent, and perhaps I’ll meet him in the Void Realm!"

The small bat fluttered its wings. Though it said nothing, Freyja felt as if she could understand its words, "Do you think my Realm Faction isn’t enough? Hmph, I don’t need to upgrade my Faction to Gold Level first—his diary contains information about the golden fish!"

"By the end of yesterday’s Chapter, he had discovered that the Sea of Knowledge was actually inside the stomach of a golden fish. Today he will update how to find the golden fish—he must have reached the Time Continent through the golden fish too! After all, he’s even lazier than me; I never saw him cultivate while I lived with him. Without smuggling, how could he become a Two-winged Mage in just a month? I just need to follow his path, and one day I’ll catch up to him!"

"It should be time for an update by now..."

Meiwa summoned a copy of the diary and saw a red bookmark at the top right corner of the diary, indicating there was an update.

However, when she opened the latest content, it was not the continuation of the golden fish Chapter.

"Why isn’t it about the golden fish, why does it have to stop there? Jerk!" Meiwa lamented, and the small bat on her shoulder nodded furiously in agreement.

Ash’s diary was incomplete in places, but she still needed to read the updates.

Meiwa lowered her head and found that he was writing today’s diary entry—

"June 8th, today I experienced two events. The first one occurred in the morning and was quite annoying but expected, whereas the second happened at night. It was initially unconnected to me, but paired with the first event, it adds a layer of mysteries and heavy suspicions."

"I should write about the first event in chronological order, but I just feel like starting with the second event."

...

In the afternoon, on a skyway bridge bathing in a pale blue halo, three phantom motorcycles sped insanely fast under the enhancement of the Miracle Roadway. The streamlined motorcycles were so fast they almost turned into a phantom.

Caught up in the thrill, the person riding the middle motorcycle lifted the front wheel for a mono-wheel ride, causing the passenger behind to hug the female rider tightly in panic, "Miss, I’m begging you, could you please drive a bit steadier!"

These three phantom motorcycles were carrying six people from the Funeral Ceremony. Banjee and Harvey on one, Ash and Hanna on another, Igula and Liss on the third.

Logically, Ash should have been riding with either Liss or Igula. However, Ash himself did not know how to ride a motorcycle, naturally unable to carry Liss; Igula, on the other hand, absolutely refused to have prolonged physical contact with Ash, as if fearful of what Ash might do to him, making Ash feel somewhat snubbed.

Originally, Ash thought this arrangement was quite nice, being able to hold onto the lady’s slender waist and enjoy the breeze—it seemed like a real bonus from the firm. But when the motorcycle entered the sky Miracle Roadway, all his romantic visions vanished—the speed was simply too fast!

Although Hanna didn’t look like a goody-two-shoes, Ash hadn’t expected her to have such a wild side, going full throttle at top speed. Initially, Igula and Banjee were driving leisurely, but she forced them to push their steel beast to its limits to keep up.

Not only that, but she also loved performing various motorcycle stunts; lifting the front wheel was just a snack, the main dish was the highway curves.

The first time she leaned into a curve to accelerate, Ash felt like he could smear across the highway any moment, turning into a puddle of mud. Since then, every time Ash saw a highway, he couldn’t help but want to cling to Hanna, as if wanting to fuse into her.

It seemed like she finally had enough fun, Hanna slightly slowed down, and her voice came from inside the helmet, "Fun, huh?"

"Fun my ass," I—

"It seems I’m not servicing well enough, I still have many tricks up my sleeve—"

"No, no, no, I’ve had enough, I can’t handle your torment anymore, miss."

"Hmph." Hanna chuckled, "That’s just part of who I am, you’ll have to get used to it."

"Isn’t this just a rare occurrence of not using the Floating Car?" Ash widened his eyes, "There’s more to come?"

"Of course, I love riding motorcycles," Hanna said, "Do you like it?"

For some reason, Ash sensed a hint of nervousness and expectation in Hanna’s tone, like she was sharing her favorite thing with a friend. He suddenly remembered that Hanna hardly had any friends growing up, and her dangerous hobby clearly wasn’t something Banjee approved of; she probably had no one to share her passion with.

More importantly, Ash needed to find a way to stop Hanna from speeding again: "I like it, can you teach me how to drive?"

"But you don’t sound very enthusiastic."

"For you, I’ll try!" Ash pleaded sincerely, "Please teach me!"

"Smooth talker," Hanna snorted with laughter, "No wonder you’re the man who could top the ’Wicked Mage List’."

Ash’s face darkened, and just then, Hanna suddenly crouched on the bike, asking, "Are you ready?"

Behind them, Igula and Harvey saw her move and immediately sped up, incessantly ringing their bells, but Ash was still bewildered, "Ready for what—"

Before he could finish, Hanna lightly jumped down and pushed Ash into the driver’s seat while she hopped onto the rear seat, pressing against Ash’s back, and they switched positions in an instant. She grabbed Ash’s hands and placed them on the motorcycle’s handles, saying, "Left hand is the clutch, right hand is the front brake, left foot shifts gears, right foot is the rear brake, got it?"

"Why can’t you teach me while you drive?" Ash was about to lose it, completely unable to keep up with the miss’s pace.

"Driving is best learned by doing it yourself," Hanna said matter-of-factly, "Come on, don’t mind the presence on your back; focus on driving."

Ash hadn’t noticed before Hanna mentioned it, but as soon as she did, he concentrated all his nerves on his back—leave it to the miss to make me genuinely fall in love with motorcycles!

With hands-on instruction from a master-level driver, Ash quickly learned a new skill that he could add to his Mage’s Handbook. Not only did he learn it, but he also mastered the secret of ’speed up-slow down-speed up-slow down’ on his own, until Hanna twisted his sides, forcing him to stop the mischief.

Afterward, as Ash drove the motorcycle smoothly, Hanna suddenly said, "Since this morning, the Empire has revoked your warrant. Congratulations, you’re legal now."

"It’s because of the ’Wicked Mage List’, right?" Ash looked gloomy, "But I can’t feel happy about it at all."
