Chapter 508: Chapter 414: Shiny and Sparkling_3

Isn’t this just taking the long way around?

Necromancy Angels cherishing their descendants is definitely a tall tale; even Harvey stamped his approval that Necromancy Angels don’t treasure life—they are bootleg necromancers. Besides, how could mages who fear death have so many considerations?

So we need to think about it the other way around—it’s not that the Necromancy Angel is refusing the inheritance to their descendants, but that the descendants have always been avoiding the ancestor’s machinations!

Following this logic, the Necromancy Angel would surely transform their descendant into a suitable vessel for possession. So, what kind of vessel is most suitable for a spirit to take over?

First, she should be very mentally active but lack personal will;

Second, she should be extremely spirited but devoid of personal emotions;

Ideally, she should be born into a vast inheritance, allowing the Necromancy Angel to quickly regain its former strength.

Anfeier can listen to countless people’s thoughts yet has lost her own will, becoming solely a tool for her sister—referred to as the Mindless;

Yvalin can mobilize tremendous spiritual energy but has diluted personal emotions, becoming a completely heartless rational being—referred to as the Heartless.

Wouldn’t a person who combines these traits, the Heartless and Mindless, be the perfect vessel for the Necromancy Angel to possess?

"So, you mean Harvey wasn’t repaying kindness with enmity..." Igula said, "When he said he wanted to give Belladett everlasting rest, it really was just to free you from destiny... My interrogation is over."

In fact, Igula had many more questions: Why must Belladett inherit the Dominion Faction, why not try to counter-kill the Necromancy Angel, why endure this kind of fate... But, thinking that this was the fallback the Necromancy Angel had arranged for revival and that Belladett could rely on the assistance of her siblings to share the burden, their ancestors indeed did their utmost.

"It’s my turn to ask the last question," Anfeier said.

However, at that moment, the bookmark of their Gospel Book began to glow, indicating that the Deceit List was finally updating tonight—

"Igula Bokin receives the reward ’Kingdom Coin’."

"Kingdom Coin: While you possess this coin, your personal will won’t be subject to any manipulation, distortion, or erosion, and will always maintain its purity."

Igula fiddled with the brand-new, heating-up Gold Coin in his hand and asked, "What do you want to ask?"

"I was going to ask, with Mr. Igula in so much debt and theoretically sharing 99.9% of his thought processes, how do you plan to resist your sister’s control?" Anfeier spread his hands, "But now there’s no need to ask."

Igula’s ability to endlessly borrow didn’t mean he didn’t owe Belladett money. As soon as Yvalin caught her breath and sealed his credit shell, Igula would have no means to retaliate and would be completely at Yvalin’s mercy to tamper with his brain.

But now, armed with the Kingdom Coin rewarded by the future list, Igula wasn’t afraid of Yvalin messing with his mind.

However, after pondering for a moment, Igula flicked his thumb and sent the coin flying out.

"Catch."

Anfeier caught the coin frantically, surprised to see the Swindler walk toward the window, gazing at the distant crowd.

"Mr. Igula?"

"It’s yours," Igula said calmly, "You should still have a trace of self-consciousness deep within your soul. Buy it back with this coin."

"Why?"

"When I prepared this plan, I didn’t count on the Deceit List’s reward being part of it," Igula said with a faint smile, "Gifts bestowed by fate, I dare not accept casually."

"How will you resist your sister’s control, then?"

"I’ve stolen knowledge from the Dominion Faction, and I’ve already figured out how to resist your control. My theoretical framework is fully developed; I just lack practical application. If Yvalin is willing to practice with me, I’m very much looking forward to it."

"What’s more, the range of your control has its limits. Once I get to a farther place, if Yvalin wants to mess with my head, then she’ll have to reveal her hidden cards that I haven’t found. I want to see if Yvalin will break me first or if I will fully learn how to master Belladett’s Dominion Faction from Yvalin."

Igula looked out at Ash and the others in the distance, his handsome face lit up by the bright starlight. His eyes held no trace of fear, just anticipation for the future.

Anfeier stared at him, suddenly blurting out, "I’m not sure if I should say this..."

"You shouldn’t."

"But I’m going to say it! I’m going to say it!"

Igula glanced at her, "Is the coin’s effect that apparent?"

"Or could it be that you like this type of girl?" Anfeier smiled playfully, "I just wanted to say, Mr. Igula, humans don’t shine, nor do they twinkle."

"Hmm?"

"So, the real sparkle is in your eyes."
