Chapter 495: Chapter 406 "Deceit List"_2
"Looks like I only have one choice," Qinna adjusted her Red Hat, speaking coldly.
Hanna, grimy-faced, raised her eyebrows, "Exactly... free attack!"
The moment Hanna finished speaking, Qinna, Banjee, Harvey, and even Ash launched their attacks on the four Holy Sanctuary Mages!
Swords shimmered with ice, spirits were locked, gun bullets roared, and sword light flashed!
Miracle·Frost Dance of Chaos!
Miracle·Immortal Coffin in the Cold Rain Night!
Miracle·Soul Bomb!
Miracle·Fury Sword!
"Senheiser, what is this supposed to mean?!" Casray shouted as he activated his Holy Domain for protection.
"What it means is—I want it all," Qinna arrogantly said. "Everything is mine, you think you can share? Don’t even think about it!"
Cleos’s expression was stern, "Qinna, you’re going too far!"
Mercury laughed out of anger, "We have four Holy Sanctuary Mages here, and you—"
"I’m rich!"
During a lull in the battle, Qinna summoned the Gospel Book, and instantly the funeral ceremony attendees felt an endless surge of energy. A ’Gospel Force Field’ appeared on their bodies to negate damage, and their bodies were enhanced with ’Cat’s Grace’, ’Bull’s Strength’, ’Eagle’s Sharpness’, among over a dozen Blessings, boosting their combat power to the limit by the Gospel Points.
On the contrary, Mercury and his group were inflicted with negative statuses such as ’aching fatigue’, ’blood platelet dissolution’, ’mosquito buzzing hallucination’, which, although trivial to Holy Sanctuary Mages, were enough to make them want to retreat—what they were facing now wasn’t just any Holy Sanctuary Mage, but the Emblem Clan Leader who controlled a family’s assets!
However, Holy Sanctuary Mages were not fools; instead of clashing head-on with Qinna, they tried to capture the funeral ceremony members to break the combat formation.
But a few rounds later, not only had they failed to capture anyone, but they had also been suppressed!
Four Holy Sanctuary Mages were being suppressed by one Holy Sanctuary Mage and a few Two-winged Mages!
Whew!
Mercury suddenly turned into a shadow and retreated from the front line.
He glanced at his hands; his right hand was almost decayed to the bone, and his left hand was freezing to the marrow—even having used the Holy Sanctuary Miracle for protection, he couldn’t block the Two-winged Mage’s Miracle!
Among the funeral ceremony attendees, Hanna and Ash’s combat power could be ignored; the real threat to the Holy Sanctuary Mages was Banjee and Harvey!
"Frost Magic Power, Necromancy Power..."
Mercury quickly healed his hands, smiling bitterly, "Are today’s Two-winged Mages this fierce..."
On the other side, Ash also realized he and Hanna were basically just going through the motions and couldn’t help but ask during a pause, "Why are Banjee and Harvey so much stronger than us?"
Hanna, holding a submachine gun, tried to disturb the Holy Sanctuary Mages and quickly replied during a magazine change, "Their Miracles have been enhanced by Magic Power."
"Magic Power?"
"Through certain Miracles, Magic Power can be transformed into a form more fitting for the ’appetite’ of the Technique Spirit. For example, Frost Magic, when used in a Frost Miracle, can enhance the effect by 100%, even causing more terrifying negative damages."
"Is there really such a good thing!?"
"But such Miracles often come at a very high cost," Hanna glanced at him, "and the learning threshold is high; ordinary Mages can’t master it."
Realizing that Harvey and Banjee both had the potential to challenge beyond their levels, Qinna was emboldened to initiate the battle; otherwise, even if she was wealthy, she couldn’t possibly contend against a mobbing of four Holy Sanctuary Mages.
Boom!
While they were talking, Qinna seized the opportunity for a fatal strike—the Soul Bomb instantly penetrated Anna’s Holy Domain, sending the old woman flying several meters!
However, Anna immediately used the ’Family List’ reward, entering a ’Machine Spirit’ state to suppress her injuries, but she was unable to continue fighting.
Outnumbered and now lacking one person, Mercury and the others didn’t hesitate at all, immediately retreating from the battlefield. Qinna breathed out a sigh of relief, opened the Gospel Book, "I’ll directly summon a Floating Car with the Gospel Book, and then we—"
"Yvalin, you’re ruthless," Hanna murmured suddenly.
Qinna froze for a moment, then turned her head to see the fog above the courtyard had dispersed, and the mages trapped by the spatial inversion lost their binds and regained their freedom. The elite mages looked down to see the Holy Sanctuary Mages fighting among themselves, completely unaware of what had happened.
"Senheiser believes that all targets, including Ash Heath, Archibald Harvey, and Hanna Doran, should be taken over by her," Mercury said calmly. "We are currently engaging in friendly communications."
Everyone immediately understood that this was a tense and thrilling post-battle distribution meeting. Aside from the Six Emblems clan members who instantly flew behind Qinna, the rest, including the Red Hats, the office, and the family mages, all stood on Mercury’s side.
The situation turned in an instant, with fewer than ten people on Qinna’s side, while Mercury had more than forty. Although the elite Two-winged Mages could not intervene in the Holy Sanctuary’s battles, Mercury just needed to stall Qinna, and the elite mage squad could take the opportunity to attack Ash and the other captives, directly stealing the spoils.
Qinna realized this too, but instead of softening her stance, she hardened it, "Mercury, Cleos, do you really want them to get involved in the battles of the Holy Sanctuary? They will die."
Due to the existence of the Holy Sanctuary, the intensity of the battles between Holy Sanctuary Mages was extremely high. If the Two-winged Mages were careless and got hit, they would die a gruesome death. Ash and the others were only able to be involved just now because the Holy Sanctuary Mages consciously held back, not intending to kill them.
The situation became tense suddenly. Although Mercury had an advantage, it wasn’t overwhelming, and the combat powers of Qinna, Harvey, and Banjee as Holy Sanctuary Mages couldn’t be overlooked. If a real fight broke out, the casualties and losses would be so severe that all forces involved would feel the pain.
Just as everyone was contemplating their next move, the young Banjee suddenly chuckled bitterly, dense white smoke emerging from his body, shrinking rapidly, melting, until he became a little boy about five years old.
The little boy looked puzzled at the obviously oversized butler suit on him, waved his sleeves, and then looked around, seeing all unfamiliar adults. His tender little face showed terror and fear, his eyes quickly welling up with tears, seemingly ready to cry at any moment.
"Good boy, don’t cry. Come over here and have some chocolate with your sister," Liss decisively took the little Banjee away. Seeing a cute sister not much older than himself, Banjee quickly held back his tears and bravely followed her to the back.
Ash looked blankly at Hanna, pointed at Banjee, and Hanna helplessly nodded her head.
At that moment, Alice Harvey suddenly coughed heavily twice, then the green flames on her body slowly extinguished. A wisp of white fog separated from Alice’s body and entered the coffin, after which Alice immediately covered the coffin with its lid.
Ash: "You..."
"I’m Alice, you know." Alice (Harvey) said very spiritedly, "Harvey needs to rest inside the coffin, and I will take over from now on!"
Ash no longer knew whether this was Harvey’s split personality, the Necromancer’s twisted humor, or an aftereffect of the earlier miracle, but in reality, it made no difference—
They had lost two Holy Sanctuary combatants in quick succession.
Meanwhile, ’Duchess Red Cicada’ Anna regained her fundamental combat power and once again joined the ranks of the Holy Sanctuary Mages.
The atmosphere turned weird.
Mercury coughed twice, and Qinna steadied herself by touching her forehead.
In terms of numbers, and combat power, Senheiser’s side was thoroughly at a disadvantage. No matter how strong Qinna was, it was impossible for her to take away the funeral party under the assault of four Holy Sanctuary Mages and numerous elite mages.
An exhausted Hanna walked up to Ash, held his hand, and leaned on him as if she would fall without his support.
Everyone had tried their best.
Initially, they should have been caught by Qinna from the very start; Banjee stood up for them.
Later, Mercury should have captured Ash too; Harvey stood up for them.
Everything before was unexpected, and now reality sets in.
"We have to hand over Harvey," Hanna whispered in Ash’s ear. "Don’t speak, I will talk to Qinna."
"Madam, don’t you have... any backup plans?"
Hanna glanced at him, nodded, "There is, but it might already be ineffective."
"And now, given the circumstances, usual plans won’t work. We can only hope for a miracle."
At that moment, everyone’s Gospel Book popped out, the Gospel Book containing a glittering bookmark.
’It’s at this time?’ Hope surged in Ash and the others.
’Why at this time?’ a chill ran down Mercury’s spine.
’Why now?’ Yvalin felt uneasy.
Although this was hardly the time to be distracted, no one could resist the allure of the future. With various thoughts in mind, everyone unfolded the bookmark and looked at the title of the third list—
"The Deceit List."
