Chapter 475: Chapter 391: How Can I Just Watch Igula Obtain Happiness

Banjee’s confusion mirrored the group’s bafflement.

Ash nodded, "Exactly, after all, both Harvey and I have been featured in future rankings, while Igula has never made an appearance... Why does Yvalin favor Igula so much? What exactly does she want to get from him?"

At this point, everyone turned to look at Hanna.

Hanna raised an eyebrow, "Why are you all looking at me?"

"Because bringing us to Mongfera was your decision, Miss," Ash said. "Plus, you know Yvalin; if anyone here knows Ms. Belladett best, it’s undoubtedly you."

Banjee was also curious, "It’s only here that I learned about your past interactions with Miss Yvalin."

Crossing her legs, Hanna gently toyed with her earring, as if stir-frying the information in her mind into a gourmet Funeral Ceremony dish: "Yvalin... My dealings with her are from a long time ago. Ever since she became the Family Head, we’ve lost contact."

It seemed she wasn’t inclined to reveal the secrets of "How to Befriend a Super-rich Beauty and Break Out of Poverty," and instead got straight to the point: "Yvalin’s personality is actually quite normal. After all, growing up in a privileged environment where everyone dotes on you, even if she were ice cream, she wouldn’t melt. Her character, quality, and virtues are naturally nothing short of excellent. Aside from being very conscious of her height, she’s pretty much like any ordinary girl."

"If anything, it’s that she’s too ordinary—ordinary to the point that she actually longs for a pure and sincere sweet romance. She knows full well that her biggest barrier to love is her own status, so she once ran away from home, hoping for an exciting and spectacular adventure."

"And the result?" Ash inquired.

"The result, naturally, was that the previous generation’s Belladett Family Head paid for her to enjoy the adventure of her dreams," Hanna shrugged. "After learning the truth, she gave up on the happiness of the common folk and dutifully returned home to inherit the trillion-scale consortium."

"By the way, Yvalin seems young, so how did she become the Family Head at such a young age?" Harvey asked. "What about her parents?"

"Aside from knowing they’re deceased, there isn’t much more information. However, the life or death of her parents has nothing to do with being the Family Head—Belladett Family Heads are typically unmarried, and the successors are descendants of siblings. Therefore, Yvalin’s parents were not Family Heads; her aunt was the prior generation’s Family Head."

Hanna added, "And historically, Belladett Family Heads have all succeeded at a young age. Assuming the predecessor didn’t retire to live a life incognito and instead passed away, that means all Belladett Family Heads have not lived past forty."

"Wait a minute!" Ash raised his hand, "What about the death times of the natural parents of the previous Family Heads?"

Hanna’s expression was somewhat subtle, "Not sure, but the records never show a Belladett Family Head with living parents. Statistically, equating ’becoming the Family Head’ with ’the death of both parents’ should be accurate."

"We need to tell Igula this information right away—"

"It’s no use," Harvey said calmly.

Ash looked at the Necromancer in surprise, "How can it be of no use? Sooner or later, he will become a sacrifice for his own child!"

"So what if he does, raising a child to adulthood takes more than a decade," Harvey shook his head. "Do you think the Swindler would care about long-term benefits spanning over a decade? Do you think the Swindler would fear a risk that won’t manifest until years later?"

"Moreover, given his personality, any loopholes you can or can’t think of, he’s undoubtedly already investigated thoroughly. He’s as meticulous in his research as I am in my dissection, and the very idea that you’re trying to warn him in his field of expertise, I can’t help but feel you’re underestimating Igula Bokin."

Ash paused for a moment and slowly closed the Gospel Book.

"Could it be Igula’s appearance that caught Miss Yvalin’s attention?" Banjee speculated.

Hanna shook her head and waved her hand, giving the housekeeper a double negative, "I’ve said it before, Yvalin is just a normal girl, she’s not so romantically brainless to be lovestruck. Besides, even if she were lovestruck, she should be the one to act on it, why would she have her sister marry Igula? Could it be that someone in this world actually enjoys unrequited love?"

Ash blinked, unconsciously wiping away non-existent bloodstains from his face.

Hanna continued, "Betting the entire Belladett consortium on one person, let’s not even mention if Igula is a handsome man, even if he is the reincarnation of her angel ancestor, she would have to think it over carefully."

"Actually, you could think about it from the opposite perspective, it might be simpler," said the ’Liss’ in Ash’s arms, "Why didn’t Yvalin choose Harvey or Ash? Could there be reasons why she couldn’t pick them?"

Banjee was as if jolted from a dream, "Right, if I were Miss Yvalin, I definitely wouldn’t choose Mr. Harvey. Not to mention that in the future, Mr. Harvey will steal the heritage of his ancestor, but even more importantly, Mr. Harvey’s reputation is utterly ruined, supporting Mr. Harvey is like making an enemy out of the entire Gospel."

Harvey scratched his ear awkwardly, "Thanks."

"I’m not complimenting you," Hanna responded irritably, "Then it’s easy to understand why she wouldn’t choose Ash either, the Empire is still after Ash, rashly tying Ash to the Belladett’s chariot is simply courting death..."

Ash nodded and then shook his head, "But these are just reasons not to choose us, however, that shorty’s conditions to Igula were far too favorable; there must be something on Igula that the Belladett needs."

"That, I have no clue," Hanna spread her hands.

The room fell into silence for a moment, then Harvey suddenly asked, "So what do we do?"

"If Igula decides to come clean and become Belladett’s son-in-law, do we send two coffins as a wedding Blessing, or do we find ways to destroy Igula’s hard-won and possibly once-in-a-lifetime chance for a comeback?"

Should I start by mocking ’coming clean’ or mocking ’sending two coffins’ first... Hanna found herself speechless for a brief moment as the density of mockable points was too overwhelming, and her capacity for verbal wit could not keep up with her growing need to make sardonic comments.

"If Igula successfully falls in love with Anfeier," Ash counted off on his fingers, "then not only can he break away from the Funeral Service Office, but he can also control Belladett’s trillions of wealth, gain the support of the Belladett to continue sweeping the Weaving Festival, and in turn, command us... and most importantly, he gets a naive, kind, cute, and beautiful wife."

"I think the answer is quite clear," Ash spread his hands, "As a friend, as a comrade in arms, as a fellow prison inmate, I simply can’t persuade myself not to make a mess of things! How can I just watch Igula achieve happiness!?"

"But don’t forget," Harvey reminded, "if Igula can turn things around and control Hanna, then we too can break free of the Funeral Service Office. It’s beneficial for us to support Igula."

Hanna glanced at the Necromancer without any anger, since Banjee had helped dispel their treasonous thoughts of revolt, "Mr. Harvey, do you think Mr. Bokin will cancel your contract with the young lady, or continue to control you through it?"

Harvey had an epiphany, "Right, how could I doubt Igula’s character?"

"Plus," Ash said seriously, "Don’t you feel sick when you see others getting happiness?"

"Indeed," Harvey nodded.

"On multiple levels, it’s unforgivable," Hanna flicked her earring gently.

Although Banjee sided with the Funeral Service Office and naturally agreed with disrupting Igula’s plan, watching the three of them with their matching wickedness, the sixty-something housekeeper couldn’t help feeling a twinge of conscience...
