Chapter 460: Chapter 381: Goodbye Valcas
"This commander’s soul power definitely isn’t much."
Ash analyzed, "He only brought a small squad of Bird Dragons, so his upper limit of soul-powered armor should be the total amount it takes to equip these Bird Dragons."
So, the next question is, who will fight the mages, and who will fight the commander.
Sonia analyzed seriously, "First, it doesn’t matter whether we win or lose against the mages, the goal is just to buy time until the commander is killed by a third party... I think I should be the one to face the commander."
"Then shall I and the Observer fight the mages?" Diya asked, "But how can we be recognized as a team by the Combat Arena? Should we hug each other?"
"No!"
"Hand-holding?"
"Also no!"
The Witch looked blankly at the Sword Maiden, who also realized there was a major flaw in her plan and quickly corrected, "No, the Observer has a Soul Summoning Technique Spirit, he can arm himself with troops, therefore it is most suitable for him to confront the commander."
"It can only be me." Ash glanced at them, "I still have to record the map. But speaking of armed troops..."
Ash raised his hand, and a deep blue suit of armor materialized around both the Witch and the Sword Maiden. The Witch’s fingers sparkled with sharp Star Radiance, and the Sword Maiden’s long sword burst forth with dazzling arc lights.
"Lucky we just killed a Violent Slash Dragon, otherwise there wouldn’t have been soul power to arm you both."
Ash’s soul power had previously been squandered away in the Amnesia Cottage—if he hadn’t equipped himself with the Star Hall’s Level Six troop ’Burst Star Warrior’, he wouldn’t have been able to suppress the Empress’ Phantom.
"Why don’t you keep it to fight the commander?" Sonia was taken aback, "I’ve already said it doesn’t matter if we lose the other fights with the mages..."
"If we really do lose, we won’t be lacking these few layers of armor," Ash said, "Besides, I’m up against the commander, I can simply surrender if need be; but if you encounter some weird mage, and can’t even surrender, being killed outright..."
"That possibility is too slim, and I have the ’Sincerity’ Technique Spirit that enhances Spirit Resistance—"
"Either way, I’ve already used them, and they can’t be returned." Ash’s hands glowed with two warm lights, giving the Witch and the Sword Maiden an enhancement each: "And there’s this enhanced sword..."
Because the names under Favoritism were too ostentatious, Ash was too embarrassed to say them out loud, randomly naming them ’Healing Sword (Joy)’, ’Enhanced Sword (Love)’, ’Penetration Sword (Anger)’, ’Deceleration Sword (Sorrow)’, instantly lowering the brand to that of a knockoff Miracle developed by a small workshop.
Sonia felt a tingly numbness all over her body, her waist tingling like an electric shock; while Diya felt light and cool all over, with a sensation of weightlessness and falling.
With the preparations before the battle complete, they parked the convertible outside the perimeter of the Combat Arena, a typical external corridor-style building. Once they entered the corridor, they were immediately transported to the inside of the arena.
First, it was the Sword Maiden and Witch, as a pair. They looked at each other and chose to go arm in arm, a buddy system. As soon as they stepped into the corridor, they were immediately transported away.
As the scenery shifted, they kept holding onto each other’s arms, feeling an unknown force trying to separate them. However, Sonia and Diya’s superficial friendship wasn’t something that could be tested without cost, and the unknown force gave up after a few moments, soon bringing them together to the center of the sandy ground in the Combat Arena.
"...Am I dreaming? Are there really two mages here to disrupt things?... Was the Revelation Technique Spirit’s phrase ’You will be harmed by those close to you’ referring to not being able to act together with you!?"
"Alice thinks it’s very tacky of you to take your anger out on others."
"Alice isn’t even here, so how would he know?"
"Alice is right next to me in reality."
"But Alice isn’t lying in a coffin—nevermind, I don’t want to know."
The two mages they had interrupted were naturally astonished to the point of disbelief, looking like they were about to have an internal conflict. It’s better to say they surprisingly didn’t explode from the disruption; considering their mental fortitude, that was beyond Sonia’s imagination—changing perspective, if you had spent all your luck to seize an opportunity, just to have it snatched away by strangers, you might never get a second chance in your lifetime, Sonia herself would definitely want to destroy heaven and earth.
However, the Village Girl looked closely and her expression suddenly turned serious, "No wonder they dared to challenge the Heroic Soul Commander, they actually controlled both the Fierce GHial Dragon and the Bird Dragons... a zombified Fierce Ghial Dragon, might be a Necromancer... wait, that Bird Dragon armored in black, could it be the Heroic Soul Commander’s subordinate, and then they took control from him?"
"Witch, be careful, they have the ability to influence the spirit," Ash said. "I have the Sincerity Technique Spirit, so it’s not a big problem... Witch?"
Diya suddenly snapped awake, reeled in her observing gaze, and nervously raised her fists, "Is it time to fight?"
"Their main combat power should be the Violent Slash Dragon and the Bird Dragon, so our best strategy is naturally to try to directly kill the Mage themselves to avoid dealing with their follower monsters," Sonia said. "Which one do you want to take on?"
"...I want to fight the one with fairer skin and a prettier face."
"Then I’ll take care of the one with darker skin and curly hair."
...
After the Sword Witch entered, Ash also immediately drove in.
If the sports car could be judged as his permissible accessory in the Combat Arena, that would be thrilling, as Ash would certainly find a way to visit the Combat Arena every night for Void Realm Exploration, using the sports car to bulldoze a path to the third level of the Void Realm.
Unfortunately, only he himself was teleported inside the Combat Arena.
Ash first looked around and did not see the Sword Maiden and the others. In front of him, there was only a man in a black robe holding a long sword, reticent and indifferent. His eyes were cold, his face showed neither panic nor fear; one could tell immediately that he was a Heroic Soul Commander.
Miracle - Heart Pen!
The first thing Ash did upon landing was to draw a field of ink trenches around him with the Heart Pen. Besides its superb effect as a trap, Ash could only use the Heart Pen before battle—this Miracle Technique was extremely cumbersome to initiate, and Ash had only just acquired it; he simply couldn’t use it in the midst of combat.
However, until Ash finished drawing the ink trenches, the enemy didn’t react at all. Ash looked up and found the enemy observing him.
No.
She wasn’t looking at him.
She was looking at the medium of the ’Heart Pen,’ the Heart Sword Technique Spirit.
"Ash Heath?"
Ash was taken aback.
It was his first time hearing his own name in the Void Realm—like someone suddenly calling out his True Name on the internet—there was a bizarre sense of absurdity.
If it were another Mage shouting his name, or a Void Realm structure, Ash could somehow understand.
But why would the Heroic Soul Commander call out his name?
The robed person lifted his hood, revealing pointed ears, pale blue thin lips, a tall nose, and long dark green hair. She must have been a proud and fierce elf in her lifetime, Ash thought.
The figure before Ash was a female elf Commander. Although Ash had seen many female elves, he had no impression of her.
"Do you recognize me?" Ash suddenly thought of a possibility, "Are you a Spider Tower Commander? Do all of you know my appearance information and chase me as soon as I enter the Void Realm?"
"No, I’m not from the Spider Tower," the female elf shook her head. "And I didn’t recognize you."
She pointed to the Heart Sword next to Ash and said, "I only recognize it. It is a Technique Spirit born from a split in my soul, a gift I intended for my child."
Ash was completely stunned.
He looked at the Heart Sword and then back at the female elf.
"Valcas?"
