Chapter 437: Chapter 364: The Master of Senheiser

Mist Spirit clan.

The name looked odd, and why was Senheiser ranked only at 10th? At least it should’ve been in the top 3... Although Qinna complained inwardly, the joy on her face was unmistakable.

Because Senheiser had successfully made the list, recognized by Weaving Festival as endowed with the capability to extend into the future!

As for ranking rewards and the like, none of them were as valuable as this confirmed future!

However, when they looked carefully, their expressions changed.

The background of the image could vaguely be identified as Vatican Mura; just not the steel jungle of today, but a fresher, nature-intertwined Vatican Mura—with persistent flowers and weeds covering the broken walls and street benches. Thick white fog flowed like a river on the ground, and under the caress of the sparkling sunlight, the whole Vatican Mura appeared like a dream of ’Heaven’.

And in Heaven, naturally, there were Angels.

In the center of the image, a flock of exceedingly pure and beautiful people floated, who, without wings, could walk in the sky, their demeanor elegant as if attending a ball. Their dress code, mainly in green and white, was the signature hue of Senheiser; their appearances went without saying—no amount of meticulous sculpting could capture their essence—it was like "never imagining these people needing to defecate," an outright defiance of the binary gender division.

From the image alone, everyone felt it was the Angels named Senheiser protecting the Heaven of Vatican Mura.

Until they saw the description below.

"Clan Ranking 10th: Mist Spirit Clan·Senheiser"

"Mist Spirit Clan: A new Necromancy troop type, transformed mainly from the people of Senheiser, generally possessing basic characteristics such as [Vatican Mura Grazing], [Fog Healing], [The Longest Dream], etc."

[Vatican Mura Grazing: When a Mist Spirit is within the Vatican Mura region, the white fog will transform into any shape according to the will of the Mist Spirit, used to capture any intelligent creature that sets foot in Vatican Mura.]

[Fog Healing: In the presence of nearby white fog, the Mist Spirit is undying, capable of using the fog to heal their spiritual body at any time.]

[The Longest Dream: Mist Spirit can drag living beings into the Rebirth Dream; once living beings are misled and submerged in the Rebirth Dream, they will be transformed into new Mist Spirits.]

"Clan Leader: Qinna·Senheiser/Nona·Senheiser"

"...A new necromancy troop type?"

Qinna murmured, "Senheiser... everyone has turned into Necromancy?"

Laite scoffed, "This is what you get for voluntarily entangling yourself with Ash—"

A whoosh coursed through the air as malicious ripples lashed out against Cleos’s instantly condensed Holy Domain barrier. In a terrible mood, Qinna glared coldly at Laite, who immediately made a zip-the-lip gesture with his hand, indicating he’d hold his tongue.

"Take a serious look at those flowers and plants in the background," the man with glasses suddenly said.

Cleos and Laite looked closely and saw nothing unusual. Cleos tilted her head, "Huh? The green grass on this bench... when put together, it kinda looks like a human figure, a female at that."

These outsiders naturally couldn’t discern the clue, only the Clan Leader of the Six Emblems understood what this scene implied—the mermaid scent grass was growing on the ground!

Mermaid scent grass farms were facilities of the Miracle Track laid out by Legendary Necromancers, and mermaid scent grass would never grow outside of its farms. However, the mermaid scent grass in the image had not only invaded thousands of homes but judging from the dense coverage of the plants, it would take the deaths of at least several millions to create such a grand spectacle.

Adding that everyone from Senheiser had been transformed into evil spirits, the Clan Leader of the Six Emblems easily reached a conclusion: in the future, the entire city of Vatican Mura would fall into ruin, all the living would be transformed into mermaid scent grass, and Senheiser, the only survivors, would not be able to maintain the form of the living. They transformed themselves into Mist Spirits, desperately clinging to life by taking advantage of the mermaid scent grass’s domain.

Yet there was a slight issue—millions dying due to a catastrophe was normal, but millions turning into mermaid scent grass was highly abnormal!

The Clan Leader of the Six Emblems was not merely for decoration—if the Miracle Track facilities of the mermaid scent grass farms malfunctioned, or if someone attempted to sacrifice Vatican Mura, they would surely intervene to prevent their people from turning into mermaid scent grass. They would not stand idly by watching.

And we’re talking about millions of people here!

Even for a Legendary Mage, slaughtering millions of pigs would tire the hand!

Quickly, a terrible but likely correct answer emerged silently in their minds.

The one transforming their people into mermaid scent grass was none other than the Clan Leader of the Six Emblems themselves!

Only they had the power!

And only they could make millions in Vatican Mura willingly transform into plants!

If there was any chance for their people to survive, the Clan Leader of the Six Emblems would never make such a decision. But if they were all doomed to perish, to let their people escape pain as much as possible, mermaid scent grass would naturally become the Clan Leader of the Six Emblems’ first choice.

Rather than painfully drowning in reality, it was better to pass away smiling in a dream—that was the Law of life for the Six Emblems.

In the family system of the Six Emblems, the reason they ’max out the progress bar’ for the elderly to transform into plants on the farms, besides economic factors, also encompassed a kindness—after all, the Clan Leaders would voluntarily enter the farms when their ’progress bars maxed out’, transforming into nurturing soil for the next generation of their clan—in the cognition of Vatican Mura, it was not shameful to evade reality, living happily every second was the best life.

But what exactly happened in the future that convinced the Clan Leader of the Six Emblems to resolve to ’euthanize’ millions of people from Vatican Mura?

"Qinna·Senheiser/Nona·Senheiser is awarded the ’Mist Spirit Ring’."

"Mist Spirit Ring: Allows a Mage to freely switch between Mist Spirit and true human states, and regardless of where the Mage is, they can remotely mobilize the power of Vatican Mura’s white fog."

Qinna’s finger now sported an ink-silver, gleaming ring, but rather than a reward, it was more like a death sentence.

However, this wasn’t Qinna’s award, but Nona’s—Qinna’s true body was still in slumber, and the body she was currently using belonged to Nona.

There was something odd here: the Clan Leader of Senheiser was traditionally a solitary position, and if anything unforeseen happened to Qinna, she would have directly transferred power to her sister Nona, without lingering attachment to the position of Clan Leader.

Under normal circumstances, there would never be two Clan Leaders, and it was unknown what had caused this anomaly.

However, compared to the entire clan becoming Necromancy creatures, Nona’s recognition as the second Clan Leader by the Weaving Festival was hardly worth mentioning, so Qinna did not dwell on it.

The ranking process was supposed to end here, but for some reason, the "Family Rankings" somehow popped up a segment about the ’Mist Spirit Ring.’

"Ended? So soon?"

"Thanks to the pre-existing Necromancy Rebirth Track of Vatican Mura, my ritual could be completed so quickly. Although I despise the actions of Pombo Edifil, as a Legendary Necromancer, he certainly left behind an astonishing legacy."

The image showed two Mysterious figures standing on the rooftop of the Senheiser building, overlooking Vatican Mura, which had become a paradisiacal garden of flowers and plants, with white fog flowing over the ground like milky rivers.

They stood with their backs to the camera; one dressed in a dark red coat, tapping out a dance on the edge of the rooftop, as if only such death-defying play could express the elation in his heart; the other clothed in a dark green cloak, with chains binding both his arms and legs, exuding a dead and cold aura, as if even the warmth intentionally avoided him.

The latter was unrecognizable to anyone, but the man in the dark red coat was known to everyone in the Kingdom of Gospel.

The Gospel Book had no intention of letting them guess—for the Mysterious figure playing on the edge of the rooftop suddenly lost his footing, falling off the high-rise, to the secret glee of many onlookers.

At that moment, two wisp-like clouds burst from the white river on the ground, quickly turning into two female Elves in green and white dresses. They flew up to catch the falling figure, cautiously bringing him back to the rooftop. They were similar in appearance, one mature and alluring, the other clever and beautiful, but both gazing at the Mysterious man with fervent eyes, like cats yearning for affectionate strokes.

Those watching the rankings all shuddered, their eyes nearly popping out of their heads, even the seasoned Emblem Clan Leaders were not exempt.

They thought they had seen it all... well, damn, this was truly unprecedented!

Because those two female Elves were none other than the Clan Leader and the second-in-command of Senheiser, Qinna and Nona!

"I just wanted to experience the thrill of falling, and it’s not like I’m wingless. Why did you rush to catch me?"

"But we must protect Master..."

"Forget it, I was just about to look for you. Kneel down and stretch out your hands."

"The female Elves obediently knelt on one knee before the Mysterious man, who took out two rings, slipping them onto their fingers."

"From today on, you are the Commanders of the Mist Spirit Army. These two rings are the Miracle tokens I bestow upon you. When I blow the horn, declaring war on eternity, Senheiser will lead the charge for me."

"Yes, Master!" The female Elves raised their heads to look at the Mysterious man, their slightly quivering pointed ears seeming to anticipate something. The Mysterious one bent down slightly, reaching out to gently caress their faces, also revealing his own profile.

The female Elves affectionately nuzzled his palm, fervently swearing, "We swear to follow Ash Heath to the death!"

The image ended.

The 72nd floor of the Senheiser building was silent.

The Emblem Clan Leaders held their tongues in hesitation.

Cleos looked at her Elf kindred with an odd gaze.

Leit was about to say something, but ultimately closed his mouth—he had a premonition that if he spoke out of turn, he might never leave Vatican Mura.

Qinna, the person concerned, was quite calm. She glanced at the Mist Spirit Ring on her finger and attempted to pull it off.

It wouldn’t budge.

She paused, drawing a dagger from the thigh strap of her garment, and aimed it at her finger—

"Calm down, Senheiser!"

"That’s your sister’s body, you know!"

The Emblem Clan Leaders hastily intervened to stop Qinna from harming herself. Qinna quickly regained composure, threw the dagger aside, and rushed to the window, leaping into the night sky!

She did not summon wings nor open the Gospel Book, but used the freshly acquired Mist Spirit Ring to turn into a Mist Spirit, flying through Vatican Mura!

"Senheiser, where are you going!?"

"To find our ’Master’!"

Qinna spat the words through gritted teeth, her face flushed with shame and burning with anger. Thinking of Ash’s condescending attitude in the image, and her own fervent devotion to him, the Holy Sanctuary Mage felt a fire raging inside her, her breathing becoming short and rapid.

I treated you like a pet, and you dare to think you can be my Master?

You even want me to kneil before you?

You even want to touch my face?

You even expect... our sisterhood...

Once I have you locked up, I’ll show you who the real Master is!
