Chapter 420: Chapter 350: Each With Their Own Important Matters

"Alright."

Qinna pushed the dizzy Ash away and lightly scraped her lip with her fingernail, loudly saying, "I don’t know any Ash Heath, I only know that I won’t allow you to take away my tribesman, Ash Senheiser!"

Leith turned his head towards the other Clan Leaders, "Is this also your intention?"

"The Six Emblems advance and retreat together, benefiting unanimously." The man with glasses repeated, "Senheiser would never take actions that harm the Six Emblems, her intentions represent the will of eight million people of Vatican Mura."

"Fine," Leith said, "Cleos, our Contract is torn up."

"Huh?" Cleos couldn’t help but open his eyes wide and looked at ’the sniper Red Hat,’ but saw Leith removing his Red Hat uniform, "What do you mean?"

"It means that I’m forsaking my share of the earnings, as long as you capture Ash Heath, you’ll be the top of the national Red Hat list."

"But why don’t you—"

Cleos hadn’t finished asking when Leith had already answered with his actions. The Holy Sanctuary sniper directly aimed at Ash hiding behind several gaming pods, with multiple Technique Spirits appearing on the gun muzzle.

Ash under the aiming line only felt a chill seeping into his entire body from his spine, yet even though his Wild Intuition operated at 120%, his body was unable to move, the air seemed to turn into oppressive walls, trapping him in Qinna’s embrace!

Miracle · Targeted Bullet!

Locking the target into an immovable state for shooting, called targeted shooting!

Bang!

Even though the Six Emblems Clan Leader reacted very fast, the Holy Domain gun bullet still exploded two gaming pods, blowing a big hole through the Senheiser tribespeople inside. The gun bullet stopped before the third gaming pod, swirling within six layers of invisible air walls releasing all its kinetic energy.

If it wasn’t for the Six Emblems Clan Leader timely praying for the Gospel Barrier, everyone in the aiming line would not escape the misfortune of being pierced.

"Do you realize what you have done?"

Ash, regaining mobility, raised his head and saw no hint of a smile in Qinna’s eyes. Holding the Gospel Book, she stepped forward, her voice cold and unable to hide her anger, articulating each word, "You actually committed murder of ordinary Senheiser tribespeople right in front of us?"

"There will be even more deaths following," Leith stated calmly, showing no emotional disturbance after the killing, "Ash must be taken away, and I’ll spare no expense — actually, there’s no expense anymore, as I have already lost the qualification to be a Red Hat and will soon become a hunting target for the Red Hats."

"Cleos, and the rest of you, even if it’s just for the Gospel ranking, fight with all your strength." The Holy Sanctuary sniper said what the Red Hat should never say, "I will deal with any innocents in your way."

When Ash looked over, Leith immediately closed his eyes. Although unable to exchange glances with the Holy Sanctuary Mage, Ash knew that the other’s pupils showed nothing but determined resolve without any path of retreat.

Although he unexpectedly became the target of a kill, Ash felt little grievance. After all, he was the Cult Leader who started in prison, and was already accustomed to the vicissitudes of fortune.

Since the Weaving Festival, the ’Eternal Damnation Walker’ had been astonishingly effective, first inadvertently making the infamous art leaderboard and then encountering the unblinking killer Empress’ Soul in the Void Realm. Compared to the previous two, being targeted by a Holy Sanctuary Mage was merely an after-dinner dessert.

Strangely enough, if a normal person continuously experienced this kind of malice, even if they didn’t become dark and resentful of the world, at least they would swear to the heavens ’Better I betray all under heaven.’ However, Ash felt nothing and simply silently helped Igula up, patting his chest with his ’Joyful Sword’ to heal his broken ribs.

Igula coughed up a mouthful of old blood: "Be gentle!"

"Do you want me to carry you princess-style as well?" Ash said grumpily, "Sister Qinna, we will leave first and not interfere with you! Banjee, let’s go!"

"Think again!"

As Leith screamed, the Red Hats quickly dispersed in search of cover to attack the indigenous Clan Leaders, but they were all blocked by invisible barriers.

Cleos with dual guns played an aria, with all the gun bullets hitting the ground and instantly turning the ground under the Clan Leaders into particles, dropping these bigshots who were squandering family assets along with the rubble into the night sky!

Simultaneously, Leith aimed at Ash again, firing another Miracle gun bullet!

Bang!

The gun bullet, less than a meter away from the gun muzzle, stalled in mid-air, spinning furiously as if in impotent rage.

The five Clan Leaders didn’t fall; although there was no ground, they still walked as if on solid ground. This was perhaps the most degrading act toward Gospel Points — they stepped on the Gospel Points underfoot, using money to pave a stairway to heaven.

"Do you have a grudge against him?" Qinna stepped forward holding the Gospel Book, calmly asking.

"No, I actually know him quite well, he’s not great at gaming, but he’s a decent person," Leith said.

"Then what is it for?" Qinna asked, "You can’t even be a Red Hat anymore."

"For the Gospel."

...

Ash, Igula, and Banjee rushed to the 71st floor and saw Harvey lying inside a coffin, with Alice about to close the lid.

"You’re doing what... never mind, forget I asked."

"This is another one of my miracles," Harvey, still quite eager to express himself in the Necromancy Faction, said, "It can temporarily turn my body into a corpse, allowing most of my miracles to affect myself too; my combat power can at least double."

"Why didn’t you use it before?" Igula asked.

"It requires some preparation time, and there are some side effects, so I avoid using it if possible."

"What side effects?"

"If used too long, the temporary corporealization might become permanent."

"Alright." Banjee took a deep breath, suppressing his inner anxiety, "We should go save the young lady now."

Igula opened the Gospel Book chat group: "Hanna hasn’t spoken up till now; it’s more likely bad than good—"

Click.

The young housekeeper pointed his ice-cursed twin guns at the Swindler and flicked off the safety.

"—we should hurry and find her," Igula, perhaps looking pale from a broken rib, said, "Otherwise, it’ll be too late!"

"I was thinking the same." Banjee retracted his guns.

Harvey shrugged and climbed out of the coffin, "Then I won’t turn into a corpse."

"Wait."

Ash raised his hand, scanning them all, and asked curiously:

"Where’s Liss?"

...

On the 56th floor, room 5603 of the Senheiser building, a dark room was interrupted by knocking sounds.

Knock, knock, knock.

After three knocks, the automatic door suddenly lit up with a green light, and the door slid into the partition with a swish.

Tap.

Steel boots entered the room, the heels touching down, transferring weight to the toes, then the body shifted forward, repeating with the other foot.

The steps were uniform, and the footsteps crisp.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The owner of the steel boots stopped in the center of the room, didn’t turn on the light, nor spoke.

In the closet, the Substitute tightly covered Liss’s mouth, gripping her like concrete, suppressing her trembling to a minimum.

After what felt like an eternity, the sound of steel boots and the automatic door closing echoed from outside. The Substitute released Liss, and the girl with white hair lay heavily on the clothes, releasing all the pent-up tension inside her.

Finally catching her breath, Liss found her legs had gone weak: "Carry me out to the mirror."

The Substitute carried Liss from the closet to the vanity; the little witch turned on the lamp beside it, eager to discuss strategies with her sisters—

The moment the light came on, Liss saw herself, the Substitute, and the Black Knight standing in the shadows from the mirror.
