Chapter 333 - Chapter 333 Chapter 282 Coffin and Void Wings
Chapter 333: Chapter 282: Coffin and Void Wings Chapter 333: Chapter 282: Coffin and Void Wings The battlefield ahead was precarious, as was the one behind.
Harvey tore open a wrapper of Snow White candy, tossed a piece into his mouth, and didn’t forget to light a cat grass smoke, blowing out rings of smoke that resembled sweet doughnuts.
Sugar and smoke, endless joy.
“Corpse spots, what pattern do you like?”
“Violet. What kind of grave do you like?”
“Just sell my corpse for a good price; the value of a necromancer lies in how much his body is worth.”
“Good, I’ll take the right side; you take the left.”
Buzz buzz buzz–
When drone swarms appeared around both corners, Harvey and Hanna turned and stepped into their respective defensive zones!
The necromancer gently tapped the coffin, and the coffin, with its back facing him, slid to the center of the corridor– he had actually installed a wheel set on the coffin–then he pressed his hands together, bowed slightly towards the coffin, as if worshiping the necromancy within!
The pitch-black coffin suddenly emitted a phosphorescent green light. Seven ethereal chains burst out from its side, linking to the walls on either side, the ceiling above, and the floor below. Then a barrier, bubbly like foam, emerged in the space between the chains, and in an instant, the entire corridor was sealed by the coffin and the glowing green barrier!
With the coffin as the gate, no mechanism could operate!!
Dat! Dat! Dat! Dat! Dat!–
The sound of gun bullets cutting through the air crisscrossed through the corridor, dense like a torrential downpour. However, not a single bullet could harm Harvey behind the coffin. The fluorescent foam-like barrier, which seemed like it could pop at any touch, was actually solid like a wall of copper and iron; no bullets could penetrate the barrier or harm the coffin!
Miracle*Immortal Coffin Lock Burial Tomb!
Though Banjee had advised them to spend these days indulging in food, drink, and leisure, Harvey hadn’t been so obedient; he had secretly prepared his weapon: this coffin.
People often misunderstand necromancers, thinking the Necromancy Faction is all about fiddling with corpses, but this is a mistake–when compared to corpses, coffins receive much more affection from necromancers.
After all, good corpses are rare, and they are consumable; once used, they always need replacement. Even those with a hint of financial knowledge know not to over-invest in consumables; resources should be invested in assets that can be held over the long term.
As for the corpses of extinct dragons, Titans, and Holy Domain mages, these do hold investment value, but the problem is that ordinary necromancers can’t get their hands on such high-quality projects. Therefore, necromancers turn their attention to a companion that will stay with them much longer–coffins.
There’s no need to talk about the disadvantages of coffins, but their advantages are nearly irresistible to necromancers: find a good corpse and it can be directly stuffed into the coffin for modifications, magical apparatus can be arranged on the coffin for high-speed casting, and there’s no need to carry a tent when traveling in the wild… For necromancers, coffins are as indispensable as beauty is to Igula.
Every necromancer should have a coffin built with their own hands; the coffin is the asset most worthy of investment, and the only fortress that can shelter a necromancer from wind and rain. Without a good coffin, even a good corpse will sooner or later depart; with a good coffin, even a poor corpse can slowly be cultivated into a good spirit.
Just like buying a house when getting married–the principle is the same.
Unfortunately, when Harvey was captured, the coffin that had accompanied him for five years was confiscated by the Blood Frenzy Hunter, and he didn’t even know which member of the Blood Saint Clan had reaped the benefit.
After escaping from prison and having no fixed abode, the vast Blood Moon simply couldn’t accommodate a coffin.
It was only after coming to the Kingdom of Gospel that Harvey had the time to create his own little world.
‘Immortal Coffin Lock Burial Tomb’ was precisely a Miracle deployed through the coffin, creating a barrier zone based on the terrain where all damage was absorbed by the barrier, then dispersed through the chains to nearby structures.
However, as a Two-winged Miracle, Immortal Coffin Lock Burial Tomb’s damage absorption had a limit. Bombarded by such concentrated fire from the drone swarm, the bright green light of the coffin grew increasingly intense, and the walls and ground linked by the chains were nearing collapse–indicating that the barrier was about to shatter!
However, Harvey wasn’t worried at all. He pressed his hands against the back of the coffin, as if feeling the heartbeat inside.
“Alice, save me.”
But as the green light peaked, the barrier exploded with a loud bang. And with the barrier opening was the coffin too!
The lid of the coffin crashed open with a smack, and from it stepped a petite corpse glowing with necromantic green light. A second later, a green flash streaked through the air, and then the foremost drone was blown up!
Perhaps gun bullets could catch up to Alice, but the gun muzzles of the drones were too slow to turn!
Combined Miracle*Immortal Coffin Lock Burial Tomb*Painful Awakening Ritual!
The Painful Awakening Ritual seemed utterly useless at a glance. Its effect is that when the undead is subjected to an irresistible attack, it gains a layer of ‘pain.’ The more layers of ‘pain,’ the better the undead’s quality in all aspects, but there is a time limit on the number of ‘pain’ layers, which will quickly disappear.
That is, the more they get hit, the stronger they become.
Under normal circumstances, even if a Necromancer could heal the corpse efficiently, the body could at most accumulate two or three layers of ‘pain,’ making the enhancement effect negligible. However, in combination with Immortal Coffin Lock Burial Tomb, Painful Awakening Ritual becomes a top-tier necromancy Miracle.
Because when Immortal Coffin Lock Burial Tomb is cast, the undead and the coffin are one and the same. That is to say, every destructive blow to the coffin can add layers of ‘pain’ to the undead.
The drone swarm’s bullet storm broke the barrier in just a few seconds, and Alice must have gained at least 100 layers of ‘pain’ status because of this! Although this combined Miracle doesn’t last long and has high environmental requirements, it is just right for dealing with these drones.
The Necromancer wondered if he should help the Princess, but when he turned his head, he saw Hanna deploying the Void Wings.
Silver Wings, Golden Wings unfolded behind her, but their color was not silver or gold, but a profound violet. The Void Wings were not for flying; their tips extended into gun muzzles, guarding both sides of Hanna like dense artillery batteries.
As Hanna opened fire on the drone swarm in tandem with her submachine gun sister, the twin winged batteries also silently spat out magic power gun bullets, forcing the dense bullet storm of the drone swarm to stagger and fail to turn the corner!
No wonder she said she could take care of the rear… In a narrow corridor environment, the Princess alone had enough firepower to suppress the entire drone legion!
Screech!
The light fixture above suddenly shook and fell, darkening the room slightly–such a large house naturally had lights everywhere, and it didn’t miss one. However, two mechanical spiders fell along with the light fixture!
Harvey only had time to blast the mechanical Spider that jumped toward him, but Hanna was facing the corridor, and with the loud gunshots, she didn’t notice a mechanical Spider leaping down from above–
Bang!
A gun bullet brushed past Hanna’s hair, and the Princess slightly tilted her head to see little Liss holding a Hand Cannon, with smoke coming out of the muzzle. A mechanical spider that had been pierced through fell at her feet, curling its eight legs like a dead spider.
“Thanks, Liss.”
“No problem.”
Hanna glanced at the quiet white-haired little girl; the Princess’s expression showed no surprise as she continued to maintain the firepower advantage and suppress the drone legion around the corner.
But her magic power was not infinite, Harvey’s Alice couldn’t maintain her furious battle state forever, and the drones were never-ending–now all the delivery drones in the city were Family Reunion Office’s killing machines.
Not to mention that for every second they were here, the ‘Red Cicada Duchess’ was getting one minute closer to this place!
Even without having met, Hanna knew they were no match for the head of a top ten office in the country!
The breakthrough point of this battle still lay at the frontline!
