Chapter 331 - Chapter 331 Chapter 280 Weaving Reward_2

Chapter 331: Chapter 280 Weaving Reward_2 Chapter 331: Chapter 280 Weaving Reward_2 Harvey also said, “I recommend living in the cemetery. In such a developed Kingdom of Gospel, the cemetery must be clean and sanitary. I’ve heard they even have a tradition of offering, so you’ll save the trouble of foraging.”

Ash glanced at the two of them in surprise. He could tell that the Swindler and the Necromancer were mocking him in their words, but in reality, they were egging Hanna on–now that Hanna had acquired the ability to annul Contracts, if she truly despised Ash or had other plans, she might really annul her contract with Ash on the spot.

Freedom!

If he could take this opportunity to escape from Hanna’s control, it would be an unexpected joy for Ash.

Although Ash had always adopted a laissez-faire attitude, thinking things like being “kept by a rich woman is great,” “scraping a living without a plan,” and “a life without work is incomplete,” if he had a chance to regain his freedom, he would definitely not hesitate, even if it meant facing myriad risks!

Keep in mind, when he escaped from Shattered Lake, he had to face the pursuit of Holy Sanctuary Mages, the ostracism of the whole society; there was no place for Ash to feel safe, except for Meiwa’s home.

And now, he didn’t even have a single wanted poster out for him, not to mention his reward, the “Twisted Mask,” which could protect him from prophetic inquiries, and the “Fiendish Overcoat,” which could deter strangers. With the social dynamics in the Kingdom of Gospel being so harmonious and united, it was nothing compared to the troublesome bunch in the Kingdom of Blood Moon.

Escape from such a harsh environment as Shattered Lake had forced Ash to give up a “guaranteed meal ticket”; now, with such favorable conditions for entrepreneurship, Ash was not at all afraid of being fired by Hanna. At worst, he would become an independent contractor and start his own business. He was already used to starting anew in unfamiliar cities.

However, Hanna seemed to have no intention of letting go of her excellent employee. “It has nothing to do with the painting. Even if this piece suggested that Ash would bring disaster to the Gospel World, or even if it praised Ash for saving the Kingdom of Gospel, for marrying the Princess, and for leading the people into the society of the Heavenly Kingdom, we would still need to run!”

“Our danger has only to do with Ash making the list!”

Igula suddenly stood up. “Because Ash is an outsider?”

“Exactly!” Hanna nodded vigorously. “Once others realize that Ash has no past, they’ll know he is an outsider, and I, who am together with Ash, am the head of the Funeral Service Office… The idea of using an outsider to exploit the loopholes in the Weaving Festival has been around for a long time, but there are very few successes, and only we, the Doran clan, have the experience.”

“When they link me with Ash, they won’t think Ash will truly bring disaster to the Kingdom of Gospel; they’ll only think this is a Miracle I created, thinking that I have successfully disguised Ash as a sweet and glamorous cake, and thus the Gospel Book awarded us a five-star rating!”

“The plan has already been exposed.” Hanna looked extremely grim. “Our enemy isn’t the Gospel Book, but–”

“Miss!” the housekeeping boy screamed shrilly, rushing out with a suitcase in hand. “The Floating Car has lost contact!”

Hanna was stunned, then she saw Ash suddenly pull a long sword out of his mouth and chop heavily towards her–

Miracle*Sword Barrier!

Boom!

The balcony’s floor-to-ceiling windows shattered explosively, and dozens of drones rushed inside, only this time they weren’t delivering packages, but were armed with light machine guns!

“Distant defense!” Following Hanna’s command, Banjee, Harvey, and Igula’s bodies reacted automatically–

Frost Miracle*Ricochet Ice Curtain!

Necromancy Miracle*Life Link!

Spirit Miracle*Cold Blood Form!

In the days they spent together, they weren’t really just eating, drinking, and making merry; because of the compelling contract relationship between Hanna and them, Hanna could command everyone to complete tactical maneuvers at the same time, working together seamlessly like moving chess pieces!

The Ricochet Ice Curtain could effectively defend against a gun bullet storm, Life Link could lock the blood of those critically injured, and Cold Blood Form could make the recipients forget fear and pain. In addition to Ash’s Sword Barrier, these four Miracles ensured that the Funeral Service Office had the power to protect itself from remote attacks!

Da da da da da–

The hair-raising and brain-boiling sound of gunshots echoed in the room. Ash pulled Hanna with one hand and carried Liss with the other, quickly retreating behind everyone else.

Before he could catch his breath, suddenly his vision went dark as something resembling a spider jumped out and clung to his face–

“Be careful!”

These mechanical spiders, usually inconspicuous and only tasked with housekeeping, suddenly lunged at everyone like crazy, and would quickly detonate upon approaching!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

The mechanical spiders nearing Igula and the others were detonated prematurely, leaving only the one that had jumped onto Ash’s face as the odd one out.

Bang!

With a muffled sound that was close at hand, the mechanical spider clinging to Ash’s face fell off.

Ash, still in shock, saw Hanna, still in her pajamas, holding a submachine gun in one hand. The gun’s muzzle was still trailing smoke; clearly, the young lady had just saved her employee’s life.

However, Ash sensitively noticed that beneath the muzzle of the submachine gun, there was a glittering amethyst earring swinging, and the amethyst earring that Hanna was always fiddling with had disappeared.

He suddenly remembered Hanna’s words: “As a Sword Master, you never carry a weapon at all times, which is telling in itself. Any Instrument Master would have their weapon with them.”

Hanna caught his gaze and patted the stock of the gun. “This is Miss Donna, my second sister. Her mother comes from the Absolute Blade Mechanic Company. She is usually quite shy, a sister complex, and specializes in firing 9mm gun bullets. Wouldn’t you say a word of thanks?”

“Thank you, Miss Donna!”

As the drones’ round of shooting ended and the Ice Curtain shattered, the young lady looked at the two figures who stepped out from the Floating Car on the balcony edge and slowly exhaled. “Azura is adept at controlling drones and spiders, these intelligent devices, so it must be you.”

“Nice to meet you, Miss Purple Moth of the Funeral Service Office,” the young man said with a smile. “I’m Maynard Kein, the combat specialist from the Family Reunion Office.”

“Logistics specialist, Leman Sir,” said the long-haired lady coldly.

“I apologize for the intrusion. It seems you were about to go on a trip, but we hope you can stay for a while, as our office’s head is on her way.”

“She is eager to engage in deep collaboration with the Funeral Service Office.”

“What kind of collaboration?” Hanna said icily.

“That is of course…”

Maynard summoned his Gospel Book, turned it towards Hanna, and inside there were four photos, featuring Ash, Igula, Harvey, and Liss!

“We want everyone to join forces to develop scarce resources.”
