Chapter 303: Chapter 259 Just Like a Child Cannot Be Without a Mother Chapter 303: Chapter 259 Just Like a Child Cannot Be Without a Mother Sonia laughed, “Senior sister, do you actually believe in this stuff?”

The redhead dancer pursed her lips, “If it’s something good, I believe it; if it’s bad, I don’t.”

Horoscope fortune-telling was quite popular in the Kingdom of Stars, but it was just that–popular without any real authority to speak of. After all, the seventy-two constellations are divided by birth date; if fate could be determined in this manner, it might as well be divided by looks and family background–those would be much more accurate at least.

To say horoscope fortune-telling is a book of prophecies would be less accurate than calling it a book of psychology. People read such books seeking resonance and peace of mind. After all, many people don’t receive a single blessing, praise, or comfort in their lives. When they read from their horoscope, “Hardship is over, happiness awaits tomorrow,” who knows, they might be saved by it, and find the courage to face a new tomorrow.

“I’m Pegasus,” asked the redhead, “What’s your sign, Sonia?”

“I’m Celestial Moth,” replied Sonia.

“Celestial Moth, May… got it!” Reonie flipped to a middle page, “May is a rather complex and changeable month for Celestial Moth. Your love life will face obstacles, endless temptations will test your lover time and again; but your career, it’s set to soar this month, numerous opportunities will repeatedly boost you to a new starting point…”

Reonie nodded as she read, “At least half of it is accurate. You’re bound to encounter many opportunities this month, junior sister. Teehee, it’s a good thing you’re not in a relationship, or else your lover might have been snatched away… Why do you look so odd, junior sister?”

“It’s nothing,” Sonia quickly managed her expression, showing a professional smile, “Let me take a look at that book.”

As the Village Girl scrutinized the fortune-telling of Celestial Moth, she became more and more surprised. Not only did many elements match, but the fortune for April had said, “This month will bring a change for you”… wasn’t this referring to the arrival of the Observer?

So accurate!

After seriously reviewing the Celestial Moth content, Sonia thought for a moment and decided to check the Observer’s horoscope…

…Hey? What sign is the Observer again?

Come to think of it, has the Observer ever told me his birth date?

On reflection, the Observer didn’t know my birthday either.

In fact, we really don’t know much about each other… Realizing this, Sonia couldn’t help but sigh softly, glancing at her own Celestial Moth horoscope.

As she looked on, she suddenly felt that Celestial Moth seemed familiar.

Wasn’t this constellation arrangement the very same as in Commander Demilo’s manual?

Each star in the horoscope book had a number and a name; Sonia flipped to the star index in the back, quickly learning the names of the other two stars Demilo had marked– ‘Vosloda,’ ‘Vos.’

Vosloda?

Did Demilo know someone from the Vosloda Family? So, did that mean Demilo was from the Kingdom of Stars?

Knight of Stars… Star Hall…

If it was just one coincidence, Sonia would not jump to conclusions, but multiple factors vaguely pointing above to the starry sky made it hard for her not to suspect that Star Hall was a subordinate organization of the Dazzling Star Magic Master.

Wait, did that mean I killed the Dazzling Star Magic Master’s staff last night? I hope the Magic Master won’t blame me.

I’ll need to talk to the Observer and Witch about this issue tomorrow night…

Just thinking of those two made Sonia involuntarily feel a bit sour. Even though she had made her decision a long time ago, when things actually happened, she still felt so annoyed she wanted to kill something.

What are they going to do in the Void Realm later?

Will they talk about each other’s hobbies?

Will they discuss how to better coordinate in battle?

Will they talk bad about me?

The Observer surely won’t miss the opportunity to get close to the Witch, and the Witch certainly won’t pass on the chance to win over the Observer… hmph, dog and bitch!

Void Realm, Time Continent.

When the last White Speed Dragon was pierced through its sharp beak by the Heart Sword, the battle at this timber resource point also came to an end. The two selected the materials they needed, and Ash converted the rest into reserve essence.

Back in the vehicle, Ash sat in the front row, while Diya consciously took a seat in the back, and moreover, the two chose the furthest diagonal seats from each other, as if an insurmountably sad barrier had risen between them.

Silence.

Silence was the Void Realm tonight.

Even though they had cooperated seamlessly in battle, with the Witch Diya taking the lead as a fighting shield and Ash, the Observer, following up with the Heart Sword and Substitute for the final strikes, once they left their work personas, they still could not find a suitable topic of conversation.

Ash had wanted to emulate the Sword Maiden by petting the Witch’s ahoge after battle as a sign of encouragement. However, tonight, to his surprise, Diya’s ahoge wasn’t sticking up! Had she washed her hair this evening?

And when Ash raised his hand to do so, Diya nervously watched him, and the awkwardness made Ash change his action to scratching his own head.

“There’s a special site up ahead.”

“Hmm.”

That was the extent of their conversation tonight, bearing an atmosphere akin to that of a father who works away from home and his daughter who is left in the care of her grandparents–affection tinged with alienation.

However, as they broke through successive veils of contrary Golden Rain, the two Mages quickly disregarded those trivial emotions within their hearts.

For the grandeur before their eyes seized all their attention.

This was a three-story building that stood starkly out of place amidst the ruins and desolation of the Time Continent–elegant ebony double doors, an exterior of crisscrossed white bricks, seven-colored stained glass windows shimmering with captivating light under the golden rain, impenetrable to those peering in from the outside. Monster stone sculptures with fierce visages perched on the roof, overseeing anyone who approached.

Despite it not being a round of combat, Ash and Diya were even more tense than they had been in battle.

It was as if they were not exploring the Time Continent, but visiting an ancient Prophet.

Exchanging glances, Ash steeled himself to push open the massive doors; their creaking echoed through the hall like ripples, stirring the remnants long sealed by time.

It was a library.

What met their eyes was an intricate maze of bookshelves–towering shelves became walls of separation, and the warm glow of hanging lamps brought warmth to the knowledge therein.

But the difference in styles between the shelves was striking. There were bookshelves carved from stone, common wooden ones, even completely transparent glass bookshelves, and shelves that emitted a faint glow, oozing a high-tech feel with their pure white form; upon them lay not only bound books but also sheepskin scrolls, scrolls, stone slabs, and even tiny flash drive-like storage devices.

Ancient yet advanced, that was their first impression of the library.

“Where is this?”

“Where is this?”

Ash and Diya both instinctively asked each other, then paused briefly.

A realization struck them both at once–only the Sword Maiden, having received a formal Mage education, could identify such new and special structures!

Sword Maiden!

Please come back soon!

A team without a Sword Maiden is like a child without a mother!
