Chapter 302: Chapter 302

While the pack is getting to know their new Alpha and Leanne decides if she’s going to keep the existing Commanders in their positions or choose new ones, I mind link Beta John and instruct him to bring her mate to the house so we can clean him up.

Tonight once the moon rises there will be a swearing in ceremony of sorts, where Leanne officially takes over, and her mate needs to be there looking fabulous. It’s as much for him as it is for her, celebrating their new ranks.

Fortunately John understands, sneaking away still carrying the young man and I’m ready with a Rank 4 healing pill, removing all the scars, bruises and injuries for the Omega Lycan the moment they enter the house. Then I lead the pair up to the boy’s room and close the door behind us. I presume he’s a young man, since the mate bond doesn’t activate until at minimum age seventeen, but he doesn’t look very old in his human form now that I’m looking closely and all the damage to his skin is removed.

"Hi, I’m Katrina, most people call me Young Miss. What’s your name?" I ask gently, drawing his attention.

"I’m Ellie, I mean Ely. What are we doing?" He whispers back, like he’s afraid of being heard.

"Getting you ready for your Luna acceptable ceremony. Now do you want to be pretty or handsome, Ellie?"

"But the Luna is the head female of the harem, I can’t be Luna" He says, raising a hand to stop the conversation.

"No, the Luna is the Alpha’s Mate. Chosen or Fated." Beta John disagrees.

"Exactly. Now, what do you want to wear, suit or dress?" I ask, pulling one of each out, both in white, as is traditional for the Luna during the acceptance ceremony, the color matching the moon they celebrate under.

The poor man looks a bit horrified at the option, but gathers the courage for a flat denial. "You wouldn’t."

"Oh, she would. She so would. There’s nothing that tiny psychopath loves more than her mate and cute things. I hate to break it to you, but you’re the cute thing she sees here. I’d pick suit if I were you." Beta John teases.

"Suit. Find me a suit." Ely blurts out and I laugh.

"Fine, but know this, I’ve got cursed Transformation Pills if you want one. Now, arms up."

Beta John sets him on his feet and pulls the shirt I handed him over Ely’s head. It’s much too big on him, as are the trousers, vest and jacket that follow, all in pristine snow white, but they’re for made for Karl, so that’s expected.

Ely looks like a kid playing dress up for a moment before the perfect fit enchantment kicks in and resizes them to his body. Now he looks like a proper bridegroom in his snappy white three piece suit. He might be small, but he’s a well built manlet, and just needs his curly brown hair settled to be ready for the evenings festivities.

John anticipated my needs and he’s got a set of scissors and a comb ready for the final step.

"Any preference on hairstyle? You’re a bit shaggy." John asks, snapping the scissors, but Ely just shrugs.

"Whatever is fine. What do you think Leanne likes? Would she like it short or long?"

John minds links someone for half a minute before returning to reality with a smile. "She says just a trim to even you out and she will fix it later. I don’t think she trusts us with her mate."

Ely laughs at that, giving a twirl in his suit. "Do you blame her? You’re both crazy and I look fantastic."

John stops him and spends a few minutes evening out his hair before pointing at the door. "The ceremony is about to start. Time to to go."

Both John and I take our shoes off as we leave the house, pack ceremonies are always barefoot to be more in touch with the land. Everyone is waiting when we get to the clearing out back, and the other Omegas are busy getting food and drinks ready for afterwards.

"Join the pack for this. Alpha Leanne is very strict about pack events including everyone. You can finish after the essential bits are done." John whispers to one of the Lycans setting up the catering. They look unsure about being included, but none are brave enough to argue with the big Lycan.

With that delay, it happens that just as we stop at the base of the platform where the ceremony will be taking place, the moon starts rising over every member of the pack, all watching intently as the soft light reflects off the bright white suit Ely is wearing, like it’s highlighting him on his special day.

The affection in Leanne’s eyes has him mesmerized and he walks directly to her, not even breaking eye contact to blink. When he finally reaches her, the tall Alpha female leans forward and pulls him into a big sloppy kiss, bringing an appreciative howl from hundreds of voices in the clearing.

The pack Elder on the platform to conduct the ceremony just smiled at the pair, waiting for them to finish before starting the proceedings.

"Dear friends of the Crystal Springs Pack, we are gathered here tonight under the light of the Moon Goddess to welcome a new Alpha and Luna. A true fated pair, one here through proof of her own Might, the other a son of the previous Alpha and born to our pack.

May the Goddess smile upon us as we entrust Leanne and Ely to protect and guide the pack, so long as they both should live."

Howls fill the air again, and a bright silver light shines down on the platform, a blessing from the Moon Goddess for the pair, a rare sight even here in the Divine Planes.

If they weren’t a fated pair, this is where the dominant Lycan would mark their partner, but that’s already been done, so they instead move on to the pledge.

"Goddess, please gear my pledge. I do swear to lead this pack to the best of my abilities, for the betterment of all." They say in unison and the light fades, leaving a small mark on their right hands in the shape of a crescent moon.

The ceremony is over, Lycans never did have patience as their strong point, and the pack swarms their new leaders in celebration while the members of Beta John’s and Leanne’s former packs stand back and cheer.

The Omegas have disappeared again, and the smell of barbecue begins to waft over from the tables. Now the ceremony is truly finished, food trumps almost anything. Especially for Lycans.
