Mage And Wolf
Chapter 300

Chapter 300: Chapter 300

The party is in full swing when we arrive, two thirds of the pack has gathered in the woods to celebrate, having just heard that the Alpha’s not so dominant younger son found his mate.

According to the information that the party goers are relating to the vanguard teams, he’s always lived in the shadow of his older brothers, kept down and prevented from doing anything that would take attention off them.

He’s obviously not at the party, though his older brother, the heir to the pack is. He’s also looking for his mate and hoping to find her among the crowd. He was at another pack doing the same thing yesterday, or he would most likely have been at Deimos helping out, and would have had the chance to look there.

Their father doesn’t seem to mind where the oldest son finds love, it’s just the younger son that he’s holding as a bargaining chip.

The celebration has finally awoken the Alpha from his slumber, and the moment he reaches the treeline headed for the party, the members of the Vanguard team move in.

The pack is surprisingly light on defenses, just the harmful of barriers that any pack would have around their main house, with only a few, easily disarmed traps. Either they don’t take security seriously, or they never expected us to come here to grab the boy.

I’m not catching any scent of him in the house though. Oh, there’s a lingering one, letting me know he lives here, but I don’t think he’s here now, unless they’re hiding his scent. Using Shadow Meld to sneak upstairs while the Lycan guard nearest me flirts with one of the Omegas who clean the house, I quickly search the rooms, finding the one with his scent empty.

Focusing hard, I send Beta John the message. [He’s not in the House]

My team sneaks back out quickly, moving on to nearby buildings, when I catch the scent of the dungeon. It smells of fear, death and harsh chemical cleaners, as so many of them do. That’s still better than the ones left filthy and rotting anyhow. I signal the rest of the team that I’m going to check it out, and they circle wide, to not be seen by the guards.

Many pack members wouldn’t recognize us and would assume we belong here, but the guards should be paying attention, they’ll soon notice we don’t smell like locals soon even if they haven’t seen us yet.

The guard is inside the man door on the side of the garage that hides the dungeon entrance, but there’s a window near the roof I can use. It’s too small for most Lycans, but then I’m not most Lycans. A dragon shaped stream of energy flows from my hand through the open window, striking the guard in the back of the head and knocking him out before I shimmy in the narrow opening.

I almost get stuck at the chest, and it makes me wonder if I’ve gained weight. I’ve always been pretty slender, especially in a sturdy leather corset like this one, maybe it’s true that having someone massage your breasts makes them grow?

I knew this was Karl’s fault.

Now inside the garage, I sneak down the stairs, using my stealth abilities to their fullest extent, hiding both my scent and any sound I might make.

Even from down here, I can hear the angry Alpha demanding the party be shut down and Beta John’s pack leave. But it’s his insistence that they need to hold a meeting to discuss payment that catches my attention. Since when are Lycan mates for sale? Even between enemy packs, one simply gets kicked out for joining the enemy. A fee to be with the one the Moon Goddess chose for you is absurd.

There is only one person in here, one ragged breath coming from a back cell. I gently move through the hallway to the door, finding the mate we’re here to collect. He’s beaten and bruised, with multiple broken bones. His face is so bad I might not have recognized him if I wasn’t expecting him, and the harsh chemicals are hiding his scent.

Alpha Marcus must be very strongly against his son mating with a member of Alpha Kugan’s pack. Or maybe the issue is Leanne? Either way, this is no way to treat his son. It’s most likely a punishment for talking back or disobedience though, as the boy would have been drawn to his mate and wanted to return to her side.

Fated matches might be just for werewolves in the Mortal Realm, but the Divine Planes Lycans are much closer to the Goddess and get more personal treatment, when they find a fated mate the pull can be intense. That’s why the games exist, to prevent that pull from starting wars.

"Leanne sent me. Do you want out of here?" I whisper through the bars and his ears perk up, as he was sleeping in Lycan form for warmth.

Seeing him in person, I now understand the problem. He might be an Alpha’s son, but this is an Omega Lycan, as small and submissive as they come. Even in Lycan form he’s barely 2 meters tall, tiny for an adult male.

"The cell is enchanted silver and the Inscriptions block cultivation energy." He whispers sadly, getting to his knees in the room too short for even him to stand up in.

A touch of Death Energy pops the latch open without a key and I swing the gate wide with a wink. "Trade secret, don’t tell anyone."

[Send Leanne and a medical team if possible to the Garage we scouted as the dungeon. Fast.] I send through to Beta John.

I lift the young man, who has shifted back into a 170cm tall curly haired blonde, up in my arms and silently run through the dungeon. Leanne, plus John and a doctor are waiting with an open portal when I come up the stairs, and Leanne snatches her mate from me with a snarl.

That was expected, he’s nude, and another female, a stranger no less, was touching her man.

"Call off the Games, they hurt my mate. We’re going to the party." Leanne growls, her Alpha aura leaking out in her anger. I can still hear Alpha Marcus shouting and arguing with our pack, so this showdown is definitely going to be ugly.
