Mage And Wolf -
Chapter 232
Chapter 232: Chapter 232
They do have the space, as a visiting trade delegation from Houston had to leave early, so I change directions, headed for the elevator. Good thing we made everything large down here, though the roof has got to feel claustrophobic to the Nephilim King, who nearly reaches it with his stature. The roof in the resort is two stories tall, so it should be much more comfortable.
"I just realized that this floor is all sized for humans. The resort on the next floor down has much higher roofs and larger beds. Plus, proper Mystic Chefs from an Immortal Plane. I’ll meet you in the private dining room there for lunch." I explain, sending Sect Master Becky a text with an explanation. They have the ability to alter or repair the furniture in moments, so they can quickly get ready for our oversized guests.
"Greatly Appreciated. I take it you didn’t know of the Nephilim when you designed this place?"
"No, but we did build most everything with 4 meter roof sizes, because of large Lycans and a few other species. Nephilim are just a bit bigger than anything we’d expected. I’ll apologize in advance for the human sized public facilities in the city." I explain.
The stores all have high ceilings, but dressing room doors might be out of the question for the King. Amanda’s shorter stature will come in handy though. Clothes shopping might be a bust, but we’ve got some interesting things they might like. I suspect the architecture will be the bigger attraction though, as a Mortal Realm and its goods aren’t exactly up to their standard.
The girls of the Forbidden Treasure Sect give an enthusiastic greeting to their new guests, having only heard myths of Nephilim before. They take us on a quick tour of the facilities, which are largely unchanged, but a bit more luxurious than when I left. Amanda is obsessed with the beach room, they’ve added a collection of medicinal herbs to the artificial lake, as well as what looks like crushed monster cores in the deepest parts to increase the mana density.
Dragging her away from that to even see her room is difficult, until she finds out they’ve got a number of skilled masseuses on staff.
"How did you manage to gather this much Divine energy in a mortal world?" The Nephilim King asks, and I have to check my senses to see what he means. It’s coming from the cultivation totem in my Suite. The relic must be similar to the pill I created, and emits the energy most useful to the cultivators in its range.
"My personal Suite is on the floor above the VIP rooms. I’ve got a cultivation totem in there that enhances the quality of energy in the area." I smile, hoping that I’m right.
"It started giving out the Divine energy last night sometime, that must be when you all arrived." Sect Master Becky nods in understanding.
The rooms are perfectly sized for their guests, even the dressing tables and chairs have been changed out. Since Amanda was so excited about a massage, Becky has had a masseuse stand by in each of the rooms until they’re dismissed.
[They’re also Dual Cultivators, if you should need a bit of exercise with your massage] I send in a mind link to the Lycans, making Steve smile at the cultivator in his room in a whole new way. Elder Song already knows what’s up, after all, he knew these cultivators before they came to my world.
The Dark Librarian has been suspiciously quiet since he arrived here, and it’s making me nervous. I don’t know if he’s up to something or just making mental notes of everything he sees, since an underground complex powered and built by mage type cultivators is something pretty unique, plus there’s all the high tech gadgetry.
With that taken care of, I excuse myself and head back upstairs for a shower and a nap. Goddess but it’s good to be back in my own bed again.
Five hours between seeing everyone off and lunch was not nearly enough nap time, but I’ve showered and gathered both Karl and Lelou for lunch. The staff has created some Nephilim sized chairs for an oversized table and surrounded it with raised seating for everyone else in our group.
The volunteers opted to eat in the dining hall of the clergy floor, much more comfortable away from the Divine Realm cultivators and Royalty. I can’t say that I blame them. They seemed to be getting along with the few acolytes having lunch when I passed by, so I wasn’t going to drag them away just to be uncomfortably stared at by the people who were experimenting on them.
"I hope you found the accommodation suitable, or as much as it can be in the Mortal Planes." I greet our guests as I jump into my chair next to Princess Amanda.
"Very much so." Steve and Elder Song reply in unison while John glares at them.
"The massage was amazing, and then I went for a swim in the herbal pond. I didn’t know that Mortal Planes could be like this, usually they smell really bad and have horrible houses with dirt and rough wood floors." Amanda adds. She’s got a point, most Mortal Cultivation worlds are said to be on a medieval or lower lifestyle standard. Elder Song’s is a mixed world, and a good deal better than the average, but it’s still not far from the Dark Ages by Western Standards on Earth.
I smile when I see that the first courses coming out include crispy duck. My favorite. I think I’ve made it for everyone here, and the restaurant staff does it even better.
Next comes the Elven wine, a luxury no matter what Plane you’re in. We laugh and chat the early afternoon away until pressing business finally drags Karl away, the signal to finally get around to checking out the city. The acolytes and Junior Priestesses were not impressed by Karl’s reassignment of all the work they had previously delegated to his assistant, and they are looking to complain to him and Lelou, not knowing just how hardline the two of them can be.
Fortunately for me, my rank has been overlooked yet again. Or at least that’s what I thought, until I hear the whispers about mass murder and human experiments, with my name attached. Maybe they were just afraid to ask me.
