Chapter 171: Chapter 166: That Night, Under the Perfect Night Sky 1 (Part 3)

After dinner, Qin An let Qin Qin take Mo Yunchen out for a walk, the reason being that they felt uneasy facing Mo Yunchen. Well, it could only be blamed on the strong presence of the man beside her, which even made Qin An, an ordinary person, feel unsettled.

Tonight, the night was just right, with joyous decorations everywhere.

Instead of wandering within Blue Bay Scenery, the two went to the street outside.

The streets were still bustling at this moment, with the sound of firecrackers occasionally heard and fireworks blossoming in the sky.

Qin Qin watched the colorful fireworks in the sky with fascination. There were fireworks a thousand years ago, but they were monotonous and lacked the beautiful colors and flower-like shapes of the present ones.

"Like it!" Mo Yunchen glanced sideways at Qin Qin, who was looking up at the sky. Under the fireworks, her delicate face seemed hazy and beautiful. Her bright eyes sparkled captivatingly, making it impossible for his gaze to shift away.

"Yeah, they’re beautiful, aren’t they?!" Although fleeting, they were the most beautiful fireworks she had ever seen.

Staring at Qin Qin, Mo Yunchen said nothing.

After the fireworks ended, Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen continued their stroll. His tall and slender figure alongside her graceful presence attracted many onlookers, leaving countless people in awe at such a handsome man and beautiful woman, involuntarily drawing their gaze.

"Look, if you were half as handsome as him, I’d wake up laughing even in my sleep," a nearby couple said enviously.

The boy in the couple turned his head to stare at Mo Yunchen and Qin Qin, then said to his girlfriend, "Well, if you were as pretty as that girl, I’d wake up laughing too."

The girlfriend, feeling unamused, playfully hit her boyfriend. "What are you saying? Are you getting tired of me? Fine, I knew it."

"What are you talking about? I’m too busy loving you to have time for jealousy. Let’s not be envious of others," the boyfriend, holding his girlfriend’s hand, pulled her away towards the distance.

Qin Qin smiled as she watched the couple leave. She had lived until eighteen in her past life, and was eighteen again in this one, yet she had never known what affection was. This time...

Her gaze suddenly turned toward Mo Yunchen standing beside her, only to find that his eyes, deep and narrow, had been looking at her all this while.

The warmth in his gaze caused her to involuntarily look away. Just as she was about to walk forward, she realized that her hand had been caught at some point. His large hand held hers tightly, interlocked.

"What are you doing? Let go!" She felt embarrassed as it seemed many people were watching.

Mo Yunchen stayed silent, merely holding her hand.

Biting her lower lip, Qin Qin noticed a cake shop still open at this hour and struggled slightly. "Let go of me, I want to buy cake."

Upon hearing her desire for cake, Mo Yunchen finally released her hand and watched her run off to the cake shop, almost as if escaping. A shadow of sadness flashed in his eyes. He felt she acted differently in front of him and ’him.’ He inexplicably grew jealous of his other self. Ridiculously, he felt jealous even of himself, which made Mo Yunchen think he was becoming unlike himself.

Qin Qin was extremely grateful to find a cake shop open on this late hour of the 30th, randomly picked a cake, and asked the clerk to pack it.

The clerk swiftly packed it, and a banknote was handed over. The clerk, smiling as she received it, was dazzled by the sight of Mo Yunchen and forgot to take the payment.

Mo Yunchen frowned slightly in displeasure. Realizing he was unhappy, Qin Qin took the money from him and handed it to the clerk, "Miss, please hurry up."

The clerk snapped back to reality, quickly took the money, and smiled apologetically at Qin Qin. But her gaze still lingered on Mo Yunchen’s face. After all, it was her first-time seeing such a handsome man. His handsomeness aside, the powerful aura he exuded was just like the overbearing CEO from novels, making her reluctant to look away. Too bad, he seemed to already have a girlfriend.

Seeing that the clerk was still lost in a daze, Qin Qin took the change, pulled Mo Yunchen, and left the cake shop.

Only after leaving the cake shop did Qin Qin let go of Mo Yunchen’s hand, chastising him with a glare, "Troublemaker!"

Others referred to a ’femme fatale,’ but she had encountered a ’homme fatale.’

Without realizing it, they had arrived at the famous Yan River in Chuandu City. Along the river, numerous couples walked and talked intimately.

Qin Qin glanced around, feeling that she had come to an unsuitable place, and promptly moved to a secluded spot, sitting down on a bench by the Yan River.

Opening the cake box, Qin Qin picked up a fork and started eating directly. The delicious taste filled her mouth, sweet and scrumptious. Aside from anything produced by her space, hotpot and cake from this world were her favorites.

"Very tasty!" Mo Yunchen watched her eyes close in delight as she savored the cake and asked.

"Hmm, very tasty! Want some?" Qin Qin raised the cake in her hand, looking at Mo Yunchen. It didn’t seem right to eat alone, and she wouldn’t feel good finishing it by herself seeing his expression.

His gaze fixed on her, he nodded slowly. Observing the cake still on her fork, he leaned in and opened his lips to eat directly from her fork, "Hmm, very sweet!"

He wasn’t actually fond of overly sweet food, but if it was hers, he would give it a try, and it tasted quite good.

Qin Qin was startled. She hadn’t expected Mo Yunchen to eat directly from her fork; she had intended to give him a new one instead.

Feeling her fork and the cake in her hand suddenly become too hot to handle, Qin Qin bashfully pushed the cake toward Mo Yunchen, "You like it? Then have it all."

Mo Yunchen looked at the cake in his hand, then tossed it into a nearby trash bin. Afterward, he turned to Qin Qin, his right hand suddenly moving upward.

Qin Qin was taken aback, not understanding what he intended to do?

The warmth of his fingertips touched the corner of her lips as he looked at her intently, gently wiping the cake residue from her lips.

Her spine stiffened, and she looked at him! She also forgot to dodge.

It wasn’t until she felt the warmth of his thin lips that Qin Qin realized she had been kissed by him again.

His kiss was very gentle, lingering on her delicate lips, unwilling to leave.

"Sister, brother, could you buy a flower?"

Just as a blushing Qin Qin was preparing to push Mo Yunchen away, a mild and tender child’s voice interrupted them.

Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen simultaneously turned their heads towards the roughly ten-year-old girl in tattered clothes standing before them, holding a basket filled with roses.

Qin Qin looked at the young girl; the girl’s eyes were filled with a pure hope yet tinged with cautiousness. She was afraid of being scolded by the couple in front of her, but she had no choice but to approach them due to her dire need for money at home. Her mother was ill, her father had run off, leaving them behind, and she had to sell some of the flowers her mother grew during the New Year festivities. She had only sold a few flowers tonight and had even been pushed around, causing her palm to still ache.

Qin Qin glanced at the small girl, who, upon seeing no anger from the couple, beamed a sweet smile.

"Big brother, why don’t you buy a flower for the beautiful sister!" The girl extended the basket of flowers, her little cheeks red from being outside in the cold night.

Her hopeful, dewy eyes made Qin Qin’s heart ache. Even without using her "ghost eyes," she knew this girl wasn’t the deceiving type.

Mo Yunchen pulled out a thick wad of cash from his wallet and placed it in the girl’s hand, taking only one rose from the little girl.

The girl looked down at the money in her hands, easily a thousand, with shock. "Big brother, there’s no need, one flower only costs five yuan," she protested.

"Keep it," Qin Qin said gently as she stroked the girl’s head, looking at the abrasions in her palm. She took out some golden sore medicine from her pocket and applied it tenderly to the girl’s hand. "Does it hurt? It won’t after you apply this. It’s late; you should go home earlier. Your mother must be waiting."

The girl looked at her palm in surprise; what was previously a burning pain now felt cool and painless.

"Sister, it doesn’t hurt anymore!"

Qin Qin managed a slight smile.

She had already used her "ghost eyes" and knew the girl’s family condition was indeed as dire as she suspected. Qin Qin then took out a bottle of Nourishing Elixir from her pocket—or rather, from her space—and handed it to the girl. "Sister is a doctor. Your mother has been overworking for a long time. If she takes this Pills, she will get better," she reassured the young girl.

The little girl accepted the Pills from Qin Qin’s hand, looking at her timidly, "Thank you, sister, but I can’t afford it."

Qin Qin smiled and patted the girl’s head reassuringly. "No need, this is a gift from sister."

The girl’s eyes reddened, and tears fell. She wiped them vigorously, "Thank you, sister, thank you big brother. Tong Tong wishes for sister and brother to grow old together, always united in heart."

After expressing her gratitude with a smile to the couple, she then left; her steps were brisk as she wanted to go home and tell her mother about the kind people she met.

Once the little girl Tong Tong was gone, Qin Qin smiled slightly. A beautiful rose was presented before her eyes, and as she followed the flower’s trail, she met Mo Yunchen’s deep and bright eyes.

Moved, Qin Qin reached out and accepted the rose from Mo Yunchen’s hand, the corners of her lips lifting slightly.

Seeing her accept his rose brought a handsome smile to Mo Yunchen’s face.

"This is the first time I’ve seen you show compassion," she murmured while gazing at the bright red rose in her hand.

"Hmm, it’s because of you," Mo Yunchen’s voice, deep and seductive, resonated. "Seeing the smile you gave her, I knew you would help, so I decided to help her too."

He was never a good man; it was all for her.

"Oh! Should I thank you for that?" she retorted, glancing at him sideways.

"Hmm, no need to thank me," he demurred.

Discontent with the present situation, Mo Yunchen spoke in a dissatisfied low tone, "In the future, I will give you better ones."

Bowing her head, she knew what he meant and clutched the rose in her hand more tightly, "No need for that, this one is perfect!"

Softness washed over his eyes as he once again grasped her hand firmly.

This time she didn’t pull away. Perhaps she was beginning to be moved, although exactly when it started, she seemed to have forgotten.
