Cindy gritted her teeth.

She knew this woman wouldn’t just let her go after what happened yesterday. It was a major oversight on her side because she didn’t expect Winter to suddenly barge in and ruin the perfect lie she crafted to get Iris kicked out.

Now, she had to face the repercussions, and it was far from pleasant.

She wished that she could turn back time, and stop herself from slandering Iris at that time. She would rather wait until she was truly all alone with Sebastian—maybe in his bedroom—before persuading him to kick Iris out.

"I’m so sorry, Iris. I didn’t know what went wrong with my head yesterday," Cindy said as she suppressed her pride. She would never apologize, not when she was the one wronged yesterday. But Camilla told her to act nice no matter what. "If I can make it up to you somehow..."

Iris sighed.

As much as she hated this woman who dared to slander her and Winter, she also had to fulfill what her boss, Winter, ordered.

Winter told her that she needed to teach Cindy how to be a good secretary.

"Alright, fine. I will never forgive you, but I’ll keep things professional between us. Go and make coffee for me and for Mr. Saenz."

Cindy clenched her fist as she wanted to punch this bitch who dared to order her around. She even gave Cindy—a smart woman who had the brain to do difficult tasks—a menial job of making coffee!

"Okay, I’ll do it now," Cindy said with a smile as she put down her bag and walked to the pantry.

Iris glanced at Cindy’s back who was already heading to the pantry and sighed, "Do you think that I don’t know how much you hate me? Your eyes told me everything. You’re truly not good at keeping secrets, Cindy."

It was another busy day for Sebastian. He was swamped with one document after another, on top of that, he still had a meeting after lunch.

Unfortunately, his beloved wasn’t around. Winter said that she’d be busy in the finance department doing more auditing, so he was left alone in the CEO’s office, wondering when would this end so he could go home and cuddle with her—or so he wished.

Knock. Knock.

Sebastian heard someone knocking on the door, and he thought it was Iris. So he absentmindedly said, "Come in."

Cindy opened the door shyly. She had a cup of coffee in her hand for Sebastian, but the moment Sebastian lifted his head, her hands began to tremble and the coffee began to spill on the ceramic saucer.

She wasn’t scared at all, she was just awed by how handsome he was.

She already met him twice and even went as far as crying in front of him yesterday. But she still couldn’t get used to seeing him in real life.

"G-g-good morning, Sir. I—um... I’m here with your c-coffee," Cindy stuttered as she tried her best to stay professional, just as instructed by her mother-in-law, Camilla.

Sebastian’s gaze darkened, and his already low mood turned bad when he saw her face.

"What are you doing here?" He asked coldly.

Cindy gulped. She stared at Sebastian, and her eyes began to pool with tears. She was quite good at faking her tears, but she wasn’t faking it this time.

Seeing her prince charming looking at her like she was a pest truly hurt her heart. She became a little less confident, thinking that maybe trying to get his attention was a bad idea.

Maybe she should’ve just turned around and left, never to return to this office.

But she quickly dispelled the idea because she knew this would be her only chance to have a good life and to win against Winter.

’Don’t give up now, Cindy. Sebastian is still a man. As long as you play your cards right, you’ll be able to get pregnant with his child, and then marry him!’ Cindy told herself. ’Fighting, me!’

After cheering herself, she smiled bashfully and replied, "Um, I’m still working here as an intern, Sir. I’m here to deliver your coffee, just like what Mrs. Iris told me to do."

Sebastian peered at her suspiciously. He knew better not to trust this woman. But he couldn’t fire her, because he had a bet with Winter.

"Fine. Put the coffee on that table, you can follow whatever instructions Iris gave you," Sebastian said.

Cindy was disheartened because Sebastian didn’t even allow her to put the coffee on his desk. But she couldn’t voice her displeasure.

Thus, she put it on the glass table and then said, "Sir, I’d like to apologize for what I did yesterday."

Cindy saw how quickly Sebastian lifted his head the moment she mentioned yesterday’s event. So she was assured that she made the right move.

"I didn’t know what went wrong with me. Maybe I was just too excited to work on my first job. I went too far and beyond to make the best impression. But I was too much," Cindy said. "I also slandered Iris and Winter, my sister who helped me through difficult times. I’m so sorry, Sir."

Cindy might sound genuine on the surface, but she was reciting the script that was given by Camilla last night. She said this was the only way for Sebastian to lower his guard, so they could start a proper CEO and Secretary relationship before going on further.

Meanwhile, Sebastian didn’t believe any of the things she said.

After what happened in his previous life, it would be foolish of him to trust her.

But again, he couldn’t fire her, so the least he could do was tolerate her for three months before he could kick her out.

"Yeah, I forgive you, but you need to apologize to my wife later," Sebastian said as he carefully picked his words. "She is the one who deserves your apology the most."

Cindy’s heart was burning with fury. She would never apologize to that old, greedy bitch.

But on the surface, she still looked meek and nodded, "I will, Sir. Thank you for your kindness."
