Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 73
Chapter 73: Chapter 73
Thus, she decided to wait for Sebastian to make whatever food he wanted to give to Winter.
A sweet aroma tickled her nose as he finished the platter and walked towards the dining table with a plate of Winter’s dinner.
"I made a pan-seared salmon with grilled asparagus as a side dish. I’m not sure if you’ll like it, but it’s light enough not to upset your stomach," Sebastian smiled as he put it in front of Winter.
Sebastian knew it’d be hard for Winter to reject what he made because he knew what Winter liked. She liked food that wouldn’t hurt her stomach. So, she disliked too many spices of any kind.
"Alright, now that you have your dinner, let’s eat," Sebastian said as he returned to his chair.
He grabbed the utensils again and stared at Winter, waiting for her to take the first bite.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Winter peered at him suspiciously. "Go and eat your food. I’m waiting for your opinion. It’s been a while since I cooked for someone else."
"I’m not eating this before you eat yours," Sebastian said. "I need to make sure that you eat well."
"You’re so damn annoying, you know that, right?" Winter sneered. "Stop acting like you really care about me."
"But I do."
...
Winter wondered if Sebastian was just faking his kindness at this point. She refused to believe this new Sebastian who sat in front of her had a change of heart so suddenly that he wanted to treat her right. She was smart enough not to fall into the same trap because Sebastian also did the same thing in their early days after marriage.
He would treat her nicely. He was attentive and understanding, but it all changed right after Winter signed a document stating Sebastian would manage the branch companies under her permission.
After she signed that, Sebastian became colder and ignored her most of the time.
So she’d rather believe this was Sebastian’s way to steal her heart and make it easy for him to sign documents under her name in the future, so the transfer of ownership would be easy for him.
’Yet, I can’t help but feel happy whenever he shows me kindness. It’s really pathetic...’ Winter blamed herself.
She wanted to get up and leave, but she cooked that Asian-style fried rice to see his reaction.
Thus, she begrudgingly ate the pan-seared salmon Sebastian made. It was decent—no, more than decent—it was delicious!
Sebastian knew she disliked too much oil, so he pan-seared it with minimum cooking oil. It was just enough to make the salmon crisp without making it greasy.
Winter was caught off guard by the taste that she had forgotten her intention of seeing him eat. In the end, she finished her dinner before he even touched his.
Winter drank a glass of cold water and stared at the full plate on Sebastian’s side.
"Are you going to eat that or not?" Winter asked. "I will never cook for you anymore if you don’t finish that. You know."
"I—Can I just eat half of it? The portion is too much for me. I might get fat," Sebastian asked.
"Then you have to work out. Remember, Sebastian Saenz, I do not wish to see my husband packing some belly fat. Please keep this figure. This is what I like."
Honestly, Winter had no problem with her husband gaining a bit of weight. She wasn’t critical about that. In fact, Aiden also had a bit of fat around his waist after he married Winter, and she found it quite adorable.
But she wanted him to get insecure about his weight too. It wasn’t unfair that she was the only one with this sense of dread whenever she looked at herself in the mirror.
In her previous life, Sebastian always maintained his lean muscle. He was always popular with the girls; even at formal parties, he would always be the center of attention with his looks.
Meanwhile, Winter always felt so insecure about herself after marrying Sebastian. So, even if some people complimented her, she always brushed it off as a superficial compliment before a conversation.
Winter thought Sebastian would protest, but he nodded and said, "If you want me to do so. I will wake up at dawn every morning and work out, so I’ll keep myself in the best shape that you will like."
Again, this man kept on ruining her expectations. He wished she could just skip this phase of him acting nice to her and go straight to his condescending and cold attitude. So she wouldn’t feel any warmth coming from this scum.
Her mood turned sour, and she harshly ordered, "Eat it now, or I will toss it into the trash can."
"Alright, I’ll dig in."
Sebastian ate the fried rice with relish. He closed his eyes, and a big smile appeared on his face, which surprised Winter.
He opened his eyes and said excitedly, "Wow! This is amazing!"
"...huh?"
"Yes, this is amazing! It’s spicy. It’s been a while since I ate spicy food!" Sebastian said as he continued to dig in. Winter was stunned, and she was even more shocked, seeing that Sebastian didn’t fake his compliment. He truly thought that ultra-spicy fried rice was delicious.
"Wait, you like spicy food?" Winter asked.
"Mhm, I love it," Sebastian said as he took a spoonful of fried rice and ate it.
Winter was weirded out.
If she remembered correctly, Sebastian had always hated spicy food in her previous life. He would not eat anything spicy, so she thought she could give him hell, possibly horrible diarrhea for a few days. It might be malicious, but that could put a smile on her face. It was a little entertainment she could get out of his misery.
But it backfired fantastically when she realized this version of Sebastian actually liked spicy food.
"You’re joking, right? I put a lot of chili in it, real chili too."
