Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband -
Chapter 111
Chapter 111: Chapter 111
"This is not something I would like to talk about with a stranger, Ma’am. If there is no pressing matter, then please leave me alone," Arthur rejected her.
Camilla had expected this.
It seemed this man was truly dedicated to Winter, which was a shame because Camilla thought she could make Arthur her mole, or at least betray Winter. She wanted that dumb bitch to get off her high horse and realize that she was nothing compared to Madam Camilla Saenz, a renowned loan shark in New York.
"I can help you if you want her. It’s not hard to steal a widow’s heart, speaking from experience," Camilla said as she continued to press the matter. As much as she hated to admit it, Winter seemed to always have her ways with men around her. She bewitched them all into doing whatever she asked, Aiden, Arthur, Lucien, and even her son, Sebastian.
She had to put a stop to her before it was too late.
Arthur soon realized this woman wanted to pit him against his own Madam. She wanted him to work for her, in exchange for destroying her relationship with Sebastian Saenz so he could have Madam Winter all for himself.
Truthfully, if he followed what his heart desired, he would be overtaken by greed and said yes immediately. He didn’t care about Sebastian—in fact, he detested him. He also would be more than happy to see their marriage crumble, because he truly believed that Madam Winter deserved so much more than Sebastian Saenz.
However, he would not purposely collude with Winter’s enemy just to destroy her. Arthur put Winter’s safety and happiness above everything.
’Should I just reject her?’ Arthur pondered. ’But if I reject her proposal, then she might find another person to collude with to ruin Madam’s life. And I’m not sure if Sebastian knows about this.’
’I think it’s better to act like I’m interested, so I can be a mole for Madam Winter.’ Arthur thought as he began to make a face full of doubt as if Camilla’s suggestion began to creep inside him. "You are telling me to betray my own Madam? Don’t you realize how long I have been serving her?"
Camilla smirked as she thought that she had won this game.
"That is exactly why. I know you’ve been in love with her for so long. Don’t you think it’s unfair that she gets with another man while sidelining you?"
"But my Madam is married to your son. What in the hell are you trying to do here, Ma’am?" Arthur asked suspiciously. "Don’t tell me that you’re trying to ruin your son’s life."
"Ruin my son’s life? I am trying to save him!" Camilla said. "I want to separate them because my son needs to find someone younger, and I’m sure you already know this is just a marriage of convenience. Winter needs a man who can take control of the company after Aiden’s death, and my son wants power."
Camilla was lying through her teeth just now. She didn’t want them to ’divorce’ in a fair way. She wanted to use Arthur so Winter would cheat on Sebastian, and then force her son to file for divorce, so in the end, he’d be the one to get the bigger portion of the money inherited from Aiden.
Arthur knew what she was up to instantly. It was quite funny to see how this woman thought she was so slick. The only one she could fool with this trick was someone in their teen or young adult days, such as her son.
’No wonder I don’t like that bastard. He gets the asshole-gene from his mom,’ Arthur sneered, but still maintained that face full of doubt, as if he was seriously considering what she just said.
"How about if we work together to separate them? I get that you don’t want to hurt your Madam, but this is the best way for her, isn’t it? She needs stability, and speaking as Sebastian’s mother, I know him all too well," Camilla sighed, showing remorse. "He is too young, and immature. He has a lot of history of cheating and abusing his ex-girlfriends, and no matter how many times I tell him not to hurt women, he still doesn’t listen. I think he took after his equally loser father."
For this one, Arthur had to admit that he completely agreed with what Camilla said just now.
Sebastian had that air of playboy. He might not do it right now, but in the future, he would definitely hurt his Madam. He’d beat her up, cheat on her, and also gaslight her into loving him and giving up everything.
However, whether Madam Winter wanted to divorce him or not, it was all in her hands. Arthur could only wait patiently in case the worst truly happened.
For now, he had to report this woman’s scheme to his Madam, and they could plan a counterattack against Camila.
The only problem was whether his Madam would tell Sebastian about this.
’I don’t know if she’s already too in love to realize the danger within that man...’ Arthur pondered.
"So, what do you think? This is for the best. Winter will be saved from my son, and my son will find another woman," Camilla said as if she was making a winning deal over this.
Arthur went silent for a while before he asked, "What do you want me to do?"
’Got you.’
Camilla was trying her best not to laugh at this man’s stupidity. Just as she expected, the easiest way to destroy Winter was to make these men fight against each other to have her.
Men are animals, after all. Camilla had long known that.
It was easy for her to manipulate these men because they had such a simple thought, no different than a dog.
’The only man worthy of my attention is my son. Sebastian is such a talented young man, thanks to my teaching. Unfortunately, he also turns into a dog in front of that poisonous woman.’
We need to take our time first. For now, I just want you to show your quality in front of her. Make sure that Winter feels that you are a perfect man compared to Sebastian. It’s not hard for a woman to cheat, as long as you act better, especially for a widow with a broken heart like Winter."
Arthur’s lips thinned as he tried not to show his hostility, but he was actually pissed off hearing this.
It was probably the same strategy this evil woman used, so Sebastian could creep into Winter’s broken heart and marry her.
’A pair of degenerate mother and son. How disgusting,’ Arthur thought. "I can do that. I’ve been with Madam Winter for years. I can make sure that she sees my good qualities."
"Good, in exchange, I will start telling Sebastian a few things that will make him hate Winter."
"Such as?" Arthur asked out of curiosity. He had been living with Madam Winter for so long, and aside from her naivety, she didn’t seem to have any glaring weakness that would make anyone hate her.
"Well, I haven’t found any. But it won’t be hard for me to come up with something to convince Sebastian that Winter is bad for him. Do as I say, and we will get what we want. Or maybe you want something more? Money, perhaps?"
"No, thanks," Arthur rejected immediately. He didn’t lack money at all. He just wanted to dedicate himself to the woman who permanently occupied his heart.
"Oh? You don’t need money? You’re just a bodyguard, so I’m sure Winter doesn’t pay you well enough to survive in New York," Camilla commented. "It is fine. Just tell me how much you need, and I will give you the money. See it as a way to legalize our cooperation."
"I don’t need your money. I have enough for myself," Arthur said. "Besides, Madam Winter pays me well. I’m only collaborating with you because I want Madam Winter all for myself."
"Interesting. I’ve never realized that she can be so bewitching to many men. Did she ever flirt with you?" Camilla asked. "Oh, don’t tell me. I already know the answer. She doesn’t seem to be someone who hides her beauty. So she must’ve been flirting with many men."
’I wish that’s the case,’ Arthur thought. ’How amazing it is if Madam Winter is trying to seduce me? I probably will lose my mind on the spot and abandon everything as long as I can get my time with her. I will die happy to have one kiss from her.’
Unfortunately, as much as he wanted that to happen, Madam Winter never flirted with him, or with any man around her.
Whether when she was Aiden or Sebastian’s wife, she always kept a clear boundary with other men.
She had become the unreachable beauty that many rich men dreamed of, but she remained as that—just a dream for many.
