Loving The Temperamental Adonis
Chapter 202: Dirty rapist!

Chapter 202: Dirty rapist!

As the guests began to pair off, Neil’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he watched them, waiting, and eager to make them pay.

As the guests finished pairing up, they exchanged uncertain glances, their anticipation waning into confusion of what sort of game Neil wanted them to play. While Neil’s cool demeanor remained unchanged. He observed their uncertainty with a detached air, his eyes betraying none of the turmoil within him.

However, among the guests, Jason, who held back his sister with a furrowed brow, sensed the impending storm from Neil’s demeanor. He knew Neil Wayner well enough to recognize the icy edge in his voice and the look in his eyes, a sign of the brewing tempest. This guests were totally mistaking if they believed someone as Neil would make them play some stupid fun game.

However, Jason dared not say anything as he wanted to remain as invisible as possible to Wayner after what he’d done to him when he went to pick him up at Novaria prison for his day out. He’d treated Neil as his driver and insulted him, and for that, he intended to not show himself in front of the temperamental psychopath for the fear of losing another one of his teeth.

As Neil calmly addressed the women, his words sliced through the tense atmosphere like a blade. "I want each of you to exchange ten slaps with your partner," he stated with chilling precision. "And if you don’t do it right, I’ll be forced to demonstrate how it’s done."

A ripple of fear spread among the women, their expressions turning from anticipation to terror. They exchanged hesitant glances, realizing the severity of Neil’s demand. He hadn’t asked them to pair up because he wanted to play a game to choose a girlfriend, but to exchange slaps?! Was he out of his mind!

Before they could protest or make a move, however, a man among the guests whose girlfriend was among the women who’d paired up stepped forward, his voice laced with disbelief.

"Mr. Wayner, are you serious? How could you expect them to do something like this?" The man’s words resonated through the room, causing the other guests to murmur in agreement.

Neil turned to face the idiot who’d dared interfere with his punishment, his gaze filled with impatience and boredom. "On the contrary," he responded calmly, his voice carrying a hint of danger as he approached the young man and grabbed his collar. In a swift motion, he forcefully struck the man’s right cheek, breaking his tooth and causing him to bleed. Stumbling backward, he landed on the floor in disbelief, clutching his bleeding mouth.

"Did you see how I just slapped this good-for-nothing son of a bitch," Neil calmly said as he glanced at the women with an expression that made them regretted ever coming to the party or even daring to offend him, "I want you to slap each other like that. I believe it’s time for everyone here to understand what humanity really is."

The men in the room faltered under Neil’s steely gaze, none of them could say a thing, not even Fredrick Wallace could speak. Sensing the tension mounting in the room, the man who’d been slapped took a step back, realizing his mistake of thinking he could stand up for his girlfriend.

The women anxiously looked at Neil, silently pleading for him to take back his words. Some of them had spent millions on their faces to enhance their beauty, so receiving a slap would not only harm their looks but also their pride. Despite being elites, they feared that Wayner’s influence and authority might lead to more severe consequences if they didn’t comply with his demands.

Elena, who had paired herself witb her best friend Claire, was the first to raise her hand and deliver a light slap that barely made a sound to Claire’s face. Neil chuckled grimly as he noticed the light childish slap, he then said to Claire, "If I don’t hear the sound of your return slap, I’ll ensure you become the next person I’d use for my demonstration. Now, slap her back. Hard!"

Claire trembled with fear, recalling how Neil had recently knocked out a man’s tooth. Overwhelmed by her fear, she raised her hand and delivered a forceful slap to Elena’s face, causing her to see stars.

Elena gasped and held her cheek, astonished that Claire had the audacity to strike her with such intensity when she’d only hit her a little. "How dare you, you bitch!" Elena exclaimed, retaliating with an even more powerful slap that nearly caused Claire to lose her balance.

Subsequently, the women began to exchange blows, screaming and pulling each other’s hairs like untamed creatures. What had initially begun with hesitation had escalated into a full-fledged brawl, disrupting the peace of the hall. The older women started to leave the venue with their spouses, while the young men, whose girlfriends and wives were involved in the slapping game, attempted to intervene but ended up fighting amongst themselves because some of the men were holding their women’s slapping partners so they could retaliate without being slapped back.

Neil watched in satisfaction as everyone began to fight each other while throwing punches and breaking tables. "Losers." He muttered softly, turning back to look behind him where he thought Mia was still sitting, only to realize she was no longer sitting behind him, she’d left, leaving the coat he’d given her behind on the floor. He worriedly looked around the chaotic hall, but then he heard Rayne, who was being held by a tall man yelled out to him, "She left. Hurry, she wouldn’t have gone far!"

Neil swiftly spun around to go find Mia, but before he could take a single step, his path was blocked by none other than Owen Sullivan, wearing a smirk. "Long time no see, Mr._"

Without allowing Owen a chance to complete whatever he wanted to say, Neil seized his collar and unleashed a flurry of punches on his face. "You dirty rapist! How dare you touch my woman?!" Neil’s pent-up rage, stemming from Mia’s revelation that Owen had assaulted her and attempted to rape her, erupted uncontrollably.

He relentlessly punched Owen’s handsome face, refusing to let him recover before kicking him in the gut. When Owen attempted to retaliate, Neil seized his arm and twisted it until it emitted a sickening crack, causing Owen to collapse in agony as his arm twisted in the opposite direction.

With a final kick to his stomach, Neil left Owen writhing on the ground and dashed out to find Mia. Outside the hall, chaos reigned as reporters clamored to question departing guests on what was happening inside. Neil slipped through the crowd, scanning for any sign of Mia.

Zephyr hurried towards Neil and yelled out over the chaos outside. "Miss Harrison went that way on foot!"

Neil, despite his earlier vow to dismiss the bodyguards, had no time for such matters now. He nodded in acknowledgment and set off swiftly in the direction indicated. With each step, he distanced himself from the clamor of the crowd. The night air was chilly, and Neil couldn’t help but imagine how cold Mia must be in her drenched dress. Motivated by concern, he quickened his pace.

As Neil dashed through the night road that leads to the isolated part of the city, his heart raced with every stride he took, and his fear increased as he couldn’t find Mia. It wasn’t until he sprinted in the forested part of the street that he noticed there was a cliff looming ahead. There, perched on the edge of the cliff, was a solitary figure, her silhouette stark against the backdrop of twinkling city lights. Even from the distance, Neil knew it was Mia, and his heart clenched with dread at the thought that she might fall off that cliff.

His steps faltered as he approached her. Why was she standing so perilously close to the edge? The thought of her jumping off filled him with a primal fear, urging him to approach her with caution. He knew she’d been through a lot, but he also knew Mia would never resolved to such an act of jumping off a cliff. He recalled her words in the past when she’d told him she liked standing on higher grounds to relieve stress, and he silently wished that was the case now and not the other way around.

However, with the humiliation and Injustice done on her, her mental health must have taken a huge blow and make her think unlike herself.

"Mia?" His voice trembled with concern as he called out to her, but even if she heard him, she remained unmoved, her gaze fixed on the distant horizon. The wind whistled around them, tousling her dress and threatening to push her closer to the edge. Neil’s heart pounded with each gust, fearing that it might snatch her away from him.

Above them, the moon hung like a silent observer, casting its ethereal glow upon the scene below. Its luminous rays illuminated Mia’s tear-streaked face, her eyes clouded with a mixture of sorrow and despair that Neil couldn’t see.

"I’m sorry for not coming to you sooner," Neil pleaded, his voice choked with emotion. "I know you’re angry with me, but please, step away from the edge. We can talk this out. I’m willing to accept any punishment, my love. Please..." He pleaded anguishingly, his limbs shaking with a fear that had never gripped him before.

He’d watched his little sister die, he’d watched his parents get burned, but not once in those moments had he felt such fear or loneliness, but now, standing here and seeing the woman he loved at the edge of a cliff where he couldn’t reach her for the fear that she might slip away, was unbearable to him.

The fear of losing her was like a relentless storm in his heart, thundering in his chest, tearing at the very fabric of his being, leaving him hollow and vulnerable. Vulnerable, the feeling he hated the most, was gripping him and leaving him numb. "Please, Mia. Don’t do this to us, walk away from there..." He whispered anguishingly, his throat burning and clenching with many emotions.

But Mia remained silent, her silent tears blending with the darkness of the night as she grappled with her own inner turmoil. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Neil’s words were nothing but empty promises, meant to soothe her before abandoning her once again like he’d left her to suffer. Her life had always felt like a borrowed one, she’d never felt like she was meant to be, especially after she’d started to see blurry visions of memories she’d never had or lived through before. She wanted answers to many unknown questions, and she wanted to cease existing.

She was once a girl who loved life, who wanted to live it to it fullest, but now she no longer knew herself anymore. She’d lost her trust in everyone including Neil, she no longer wanted to suffer through a heartbreak nor ever experience the pain that came with those unknown memories that always gripped her unexpectedly.

Her hands clenched at her sides as her tears continued to flow, she felt a profound sense of betrayal and heartache wash over her, leaving her feeling utterly alone in the world, and leaving her forgetting all the right reasons she shouldn’t be standing here trying to jump off a cliff.

She closed her eyes and took a step forward.

"Before you take that leap," Neil said with a tenderness that made her hesitate, "know that my arms ache to hold you, my heart yearns to love you, and my soul longs to be with you. Please, reconsider. Remember you have a child in you who hasn’t seen the light of the world yet, if not for me, do it for our child."
