Chapter 102: Identity revealed

When the students finished voting, the host looked towards the screen and saw that Diane had the most votes with Mia falling short of just two more votes to pass Diane.

"Alright, it seems we have our winner for this year’s queen..." Announced the host, but before she could say anymore, Neil who noticed the screen frowned in displeasure. He looked down and saw that the two students in front of him had voted for Diane on the screen of their phones. He had been called by his men but because he saw the look in Mia’s eyes, he couldn’t leave.

"We have to move right now," whispered Liam in frustration as he saw that Neil was looking down at the students sitting in front of them. However, Neil ignored him and used both his hands to grab the back of the necks of the boys in front of him so they wouldn’t be able to turn to look at him. Then he leaned down between them.

"Change your votes right now to Mia Harrison or I will make sure you never have the ability to see with those eyes of yours." He threatened in a low, darkened voice for only the students to hear. Then when they tried to move, he thightened his hold around the back of their neck, "Don’t waste my time and do it right now before I choke you to your death." He gritted through clenched teeth, making the young freshman students tremble in fear.

And without arguing or attempting to scream for help as they knew it was useless with how noisy the hall was, the boys quickly changed their votes to what the man behind said and it immediately reflected on the screen, making Mia have the most votes among the rest. Then, before the boys could turn, Neil had disappeared with Liam unknown to him that he had just made the biggest mistake of his life by making Mia win this event.

"W-who was that?" Asked one of the boys as he turned to find an empty spot behind them. "Oh my God, I thought he was going to kill me, his voice is so scary."

"Whoever he is, he must be an accomplice with Mia Harrison." Remarked the other boy with a slightly shaky voice.

Back on the stage, the host was taken aback to see that Diane’s votes had gone down and Mia’s had gone up. However, she smiled and spoke into her mic. "It seems some students changed their minds. And our new winner is..." She trailed off to add more suspense for the participants who couldn’t see the screen.

Mia, who was using all the energy she could muster to keep from falling, looked up and saw that her Ice cube was no where in sight. At this moment, she no longer cared if she won or lost, she just wanted to find a place to rest her head and her tired body. However, she was taken by surprise when the host announced, "The winner is, Mia Harrison!!"

She looked up completely astonished. Though she had told Diane to watch her win the crown, she hadn’t really believed she would win it, not because she believed she didn’t deserve it, but because she knew how much the students in Ivy Grove didn’t like her and wouldn’t vote her and now that she was announced the winner, she could not believe it.

Mia was still shocked when the rest of the participants began to hug her while congratulating her for winning. And when she turned to Diane, she was surprised to see so much hatred in the girl’s blue eyes, if looks could kill, Mia would have fallen dead with such acid look shot at her by the popular girl of the university.

By the time the host was done making some speech on stage, Mia could barely hold on to herself. Her head was spinning and her stomach was aching so bad she wanted to crouch down, but she held herself.

"Before we crown our queen, let’s showcase her photos and rate her photographer’s talent, Carlos McKenzie!" Announced the host. And immediately, the stage dimmed, and a soft music began to play in the background along with a young girl that walked out with the crown on a red crown pillow. The screen also started to showcase all the photos of Mia that Carlos had taken and made them Into a photo story.

Everyone were mesmerized by the beauty of the photographs. They were simple yet captivating, and at that moment a lot of the students almost believed Mia Harrison deserved the crown as she was naturally pretty with her innocent mesmerizing smile that made her dimples prominent on the big screen. Until the screen suddenly went off and came back on. But this time, it wasn’t Mia’s photos that were on the screen but her video with a man in the dressing room.

The music in the background immediately came to a halt as the video began to play. The crowd gasped as they saw Mia being helped into her dress by a man in gray suit. Then the man’s clear face showed up on the screen and all of the students immediately recognized him as their school ADONIS!!

Mia stood frozen in place as she watched the video play on the screen. Her palm covered her mouth in disbelief. How...how were they being filmed without their knowledge?! The video was so clear that both of their faces was clear enough for the world to see. She watched as their intimate moment in the dressing room got displayed on a live show. To make it worst, even their voices weren’t muted!

Neil, who was already at the entrance of the hall, stopped dead in his tracks as he stared at the huge screen that showcased their moment in the dressing room. His blank expression slowly began to turn Into that of an angry bull. Raw fury boiled inside him as he clenched his fists into a tight ball. Nobody had to tell, but as he watched his clear face on that big screen, he knew he was done for. He had given himself away...

In the room where Kelvin Rodrigo was still watching the show on the screen, his eyes slowly widened as the man kissing Mia showed on the screen.

"Noah Galverra." He muttered in stunned disbelief as he recognized that face as the face of the man who his wife had cheated with in the past. He would be dumb not to recognize his greatest enemy. However, he knew if Noah was still alive, he would have aged more than the young man on the screen, which means the person on the screen was none other than Xavier Galverra, the fucking bastard he had been dying to meet for ages but was refusing to meet him in person!

"Mr. Rodrigo, we will appreciate it if you can explain what is going on. Today is an important day but it seems your daughter is confusing us with her appearance up there Instead of being abroad. And who is this Noah Glaverra who is kissing her? Is it part of our plans?" Remarked one of the men in the room in annoyance.

However, as Kelvin was still standing in disbelief, on the other side of the room, where Owen, who was a new member of the group could be seen sitting staring unblinkingly at the screen with an angry expression. He cursed under his breath and said, "That bastard isn’t Noah or whatever you think, he is Leo Bennett, a substitute professor in the University and the young woman is not Mariana but Mia Harrison, the girl I plan to marry in the future!"

"What?" Kelvin’s head snapped towards Owen, his new assistant, "Do you know who that girl and man are?"

"Yes, sir. That man was the reason I agreed to join your members, he took away the woman I love and I plan to make him suffer and take back my girl. She is my childhood best friend from Whispering way, and she’s not Mariana but Mia." Said Owen, who was trying his best to mask his anger and jealousy as he watched the kissing scene on the screen, where he had seen that it was Mia who started the kiss.

Kelvin Rodrigo put two and two together and realization slowly began to dawn on him as he fell back on his chair. "That bastard is none other than the infamous Neil Wayner, and that girl is..." Before he could complete his words, he watched on the screen of the TV as Mia fell unconscious on the stage with people rushing towards her in panic. He then completed his words in a low, angry voice, "The girl is not Mariana but a child that was never meant to be alive."
