Chapter 165: Chapter 165: That Was Brutal!

In a dazed state, Shen Cheng only felt herself being uncomfortably jolted around.

She struggled to open her eyes, only to see darkness before her.

After a slight struggle, she realized her current situation.

If she guessed correctly, she had been captured by those men from earlier!

Now, she must be stuffed inside a sack.

Quietly lifting her hand, she rubbed her slightly sore neck, cursing inwardly, "Damn! They really hit hard!"

"How much longer until we arrive?"

A man’s hoarse voice sounded beside her ear.

"We’re close to Wai Tan Road now, probably about forty more minutes to go," the driver responded.

"Drive faster, she should be waking up soon!"

As the man spoke, he turned around and kicked the sack.

Shen Cheng knew he was intentionally testing her, so she endured the pain and didn’t make a sound.

Thinking she hadn’t woken up, the man relaxed his guard and leaned on the van window to nap.

It was a very old van, with only a row of seats inside; the area behind the seats was empty, and Shen Cheng was thrown at the very back.

Trapped in the sack, without a trace of light, Shen Cheng was in complete darkness.

She wasn’t clear how many people were in the van, nor her exact location.

She dared not move for fear of being discovered.

Only when the van drove onto an old road and began to shake violently did she find a chance to take out her phone.

The first thing she did was turn the brightness to the lowest and then set it to silent mode.

She quickly pulled up Sun Yan’s number, sent him a message, and hurriedly tucked the phone away.

The van continued to rattle, and she fished out a dagger from her trouser pocket, a weapon she had deliberately carried when leaving the house, never expecting it to actually come in handy.

With the dagger, she gently stabbed a small hole in the sack, squinting to peer outside.

She was facing the direction of the van’s front, where two burly men sat in the front and passenger seats.

Four in total, all wearing hoods.

Shen Cheng frowned, withdrawing her gaze, and began thinking of ways to escape.

About fifteen minutes later, the van entered a bumpy road, filled with potholes and uneven surfaces; the van bobbed continually without stopping.

"Shit! This road is terrible!" the driver cursed, clearly annoyed by the condition of the road.

"Stop complaining, drive faster; we need to hand her over to the boss before nine," another impatient man urged from the back.

"This road is so bad, can’t go fast; there’s a cliff right beside us, one mistake and the car could flip, costing us our lives," the driver muttered.

No sooner had he spoken than the tire plunged into a huge pothole, causing a violent shake.

The few men in the van quickly grabbed onto the handles, stabilizing their unsteady bodies.

Seizing the moment, Shen Cheng sliced a long slit in the sack.

Because the vehicle was shaking too much, no one noticed anything unusual.

Shen Cheng quietly reached out, feeling her way to the van’s rear door lock.

This vehicle was quite old; the lock was simple and crude, and she simply lifted it to open the door.

With another sway, the van slowed down.

Shen Cheng pushed the door open, crawled out of the sack, gritting her teeth, steeled her heart, and jumped off the van.
