Chapter 84: Chapter 84: You gave me an umbrella, does that mean you want to shelter me from the wind and rain?
Nico Haynes again played his toxic tongue by interjecting, "So ugly!"
Ariel Morris raised her eyebrows with a hint of pride, scoffing, "Third Haynes, do you have a girl who’s gifting you something as special as this?"
"Would I, the young master, even care for such a stupid gift?"
Dawn Sutherland chuckled lightly, "Third Haynes, you’ll never find a girl in your life willing to fold a thousand origami cranes for you."
Ariel Morris gave a thumbs-up, "Brother Dawn gets it."
Nico Haynes jumped, "Second Young Master Sutherland, you’re really siding against your own family, who’s your real brother?!"
Dawn Sutherland: "Ariel is my girl, she might even be my future----" Dawn cast a meaningful glance at Arlo Seys, who had been silent and indifferent, swallowing back the words ’sister-in-law’.
What Dawn Sutherland swallowed and implied was heard by Arlo Seys, who, on the surface, remained as indifferent as ever, but a slight ripple passed through his heart.
----------
When the party was about to end, Ariel Morris didn’t see Arlo Seys, and she left the venue feeling slightly disappointed.
She walked out of the party to find it raining heavily, and she braved the pouring rain to the bus stop shelter by the roadside to wait for a taxi.
The torrential rain poured down, leaving Ariel Morris hugging herself and shivering from the cold.
After sending off a group of friends, Arlo Seys glanced back at the party, and seeing no one was left, his eyes dimmed slightly before he lifted his leg to leave the venue.
Outside the main doors of the hotel where the party was held, the driver loaded the birthday presents received that day into the trunk, then walked over with an umbrella to cover Arlo Seys, inviting him to get into the car.
Just as Arlo Seys was about to get in, his gaze accidentally landed on the figure standing under the bus stop on the other side of the road.
A light purple knit sweater and light jeans, a slim figure, and a graceful silhouette.
It’s her, Ariel Morris.
An indescribable emotion flickered in Arlo Seys’ eyes, and just as he was bending down to get into the car, his body paused, taking a glance at the girl hugging herself to keep warm. After a dozen seconds, he pulled his gaze back and got into the backseat of the car with a calm expression.
Uncle Glenn put away the umbrella and got into the driver’s seat, ready to drive away.
A calm and indifferent voice came from the back, "Uncle Glenn, take the car to the opposite side of the road and give an umbrella to the girl standing at the bus stop over there."
Uncle Glenn looked out the window in surprise. There really was a girl waiting for a bus in the shelter of the bus stop across the road, but when did his young master become so warm and helpful?
Though puzzled, Uncle Glenn didn’t ask further, "Yes, young master."
Uncle Glenn followed directions, taking the car to the opposite side of the road, which was entirely the opposite direction of the Seys family estate.
"Give the umbrella to that girl in a moment."
"Yes, young master."
Uncle Glenn’s car stopped at the bus stop.
Ariel Morris, who had been reaching out to hail a taxi, looked puzzled at the car that had stopped, and inside, the driver uncle came down and kindly handed her an umbrella, smiling kindly.
"Thank you, uncle, you’re such a good man!" Ariel Morris said sweetly, expressing her gratitude.
Uncle Glenn waved his hand, "You’re welcome, you’re welcome, it’s from my young mas..."
Just then, the rear window of the car suddenly rolled down, and a cold, indifferent voice sounded, "Uncle Glenn, let’s go!"
"Arlo Seys?" Ariel Morris exclaimed, seeing the person in front of her. Her cheeks warmed slightly, and she shyly asked, "Um... did you give me this umbrella?"
Arlo Seys turned his head to glance at her calmly, his tone steady, "Yes, you gave me origami cranes, I’m giving you an umbrella, as repayment."
Ariel Morris beamed with joy, "You giving me an umbrella, does it mean you’ll be my support, shielding me from wind and rain, protecting me forever?"
