Chapter 143: Chapter 143: I miss you, I want to see you...
Damien Morris nodded and went downstairs to eat.
Laura Pinley turned and went upstairs, knocking on Ariel Morris’s door.
In the bed, Ariel Morris wiped away her tears, stuck her head out from under the covers, turned over with her back to the door, closed her eyes, and pretended to be asleep.
Laura Pinley knocked on the door for a while, heard no response, and gently pushed the door open.
The door opened; she saw Ariel Morris already in a state of sleep on the bed and breathed a sigh of relief before turning to go downstairs to eat.
As soon as Laura Pinley left, the person on the bed opened her eyes. Her eyes were moist and slightly red, with an endless gloom in her gaze.
Ariel Morris slept half-awake, half-asleep until the next day. As she said she wanted to rest well, no one disturbed her to come downstairs for dinner.
Early the next morning, when the sky was barely light, she silently left the house with a backpack.
Walking alone in the clear morning of early winter, a chilly sensation swept over her whole body. She held her stomach, wandering aimlessly for more than an hour until the pain intensified and she sat down on a park bench to rest.
Alone, staring blankly at the empty streets wrapped in a light mist in the morning.
In her mind, the aloof yet indifferent outline of Era gradually became clearer, and then slowly, dominantly occupying all her thoughts.
Ariel Morris hesitated and struggled for a while, but eventually pulled out her phone from her jacket and dialed the number.
The phone rang for quite a while before being answered.
As soon as it was answered, that familiar voice came through, carrying a hint of hoarse depth: "Ariel?"
"Hmm, Arlo." Ariel Morris paused, "You haven’t gotten up yet, have you?"
A slight sound came from the other side; Ariel Morris imagined Arlo Seys might be sitting up to turn on the bedside lamp.
Before long, Arlo Seys’s voice came over: "I just checked the time, it’s past five in the morning; I indeed haven’t gotten up. Ariel, why are you up so early?"
Ariel Morris looked at the deserted street and absent-mindedly replied, "Yeah, so early, there’s no one on the street."
"Are you on the street?" Arlo Seys’s voice dropped, "What’s wrong? Why are you on the street so early?"
Ariel Morris smiled slightly, her tone artificially light-hearted: "Nothing, just felt like taking a walk. You sleep, I’ll hang up, Arlo."
"Wait," Arlo Seys quickly interrupted, stopping Ariel Morris’s fingers from sliding to the hang-up button, "Ariel, do you think I can sleep now? Tell me the address, I’ll be there shortly."
"Arlo, there’s no need, it’s still early, get some more sleep." Ariel Morris refused, her tone increasingly artificially casual: "Nothing’s wrong, I just wanted to call because I miss you."
Arlo Seys paused, "Well, I miss you too, tell me the address, I want to see you."
As soon as Arlo Seys finished speaking, there were sounds of movement from the other side.
Ariel Morris quickly spoke into the phone, "Arlo, aren’t you sleeping? I really just wanted to call because I miss you, don’t rush, get some more sleep."
There was no reply from the other side, just continuous movement sounds.
After a while, Arlo Seys’s gentle voice came through, "I’ve already left the house, tell me the address."
"...." Ariel Morris felt both exasperated and moved, chuckled, surrendered to the sentiment of wanting to see him, and softly said, "I’m at Flourishing Boulevard, Cloud Drive."
"Okay, wait for me, I’ll be there soon."
"Alright."

While waiting for Arlo Seys, Ariel Morris listened to music with headphones on the street.
Arlo Seys came quickly, really swiftly; Ariel Morris felt it was only a moment since hanging up the phone before Arlo Seys arrived.
"Arlo, how did you get here so quickly? It’s hard to catch a taxi at this hour!"
