Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Don’t Mistake a Gentle Lion for a Cat!
"Scarlett Morris!" Scarlett just took a step forward when Ariel Morris grabbed her wrist with such force that she couldn’t break free. Ariel looked at her, her tone somewhat cold: "Scarlett, Arlo Seys is my boyfriend. When I say he’s unavailable, he’s unavailable! Isn’t it clear you’re going over there to get closer to Arlo Seys? Don’t think I don’t know what you’re planning!"
"What did you say?"
Ariel’s lips curled into a cold smile, "I’m telling you, Arlo Seys isn’t my toy for you to make plans with or take away! Show some dignity!"
"Ariel Morris, are you that afraid Arlo Seys will fall for me?" Scarlett mocked, "Well, Ariel Morris, is there anything about you that can even compare to me?"
"True, I can’t compare to you." Ariel released her hand, coldly opened the back door of the car, "Aren’t you rushing home for dinner?"
"Oh, Ariel Morris, usually when I bully you, you stay quiet and don’t fight back, but when it’s about Arlo Seys, you become a roaring lion, afraid I’ll take away your Arlo Seys?"
"You can’t take Arlo from me! And—" Ariel leaned in close to Scarlett, coldly whispering in her ear: "Don’t mistake a normally gentle and silent lion for a cat!"
"Ariel Morris, do you even know your status in the Morris Family!" An orphan adopted from the welfare center, shouting at the Morris Family’s daughter, Ariel doesn’t recognize her identity, does she?!
"I’ve never forgotten!" Yes, and because she hasn’t forgotten she’s just an adopted orphan in the Morris Family, she tolerated Scarlett all along. No matter how Scarlett troubled her, she could only endure.
Ariel pushed Scarlett into the car, then followed her into the back seat, closing the door.
The car slowly drove back along the path.
Ariel sat in the back seat, looking through the rearview mirror at Arlo Seys who silently watched them leave from the school entrance, her slender fingers tightly clenched, her nails digging into the lines of her palm.

Ariel Morris and Scarlett Morris returned home to find Damien Morris and Laura Pinley waiting for them at the dining table.
Ariel placed her backpack on the living room sofa, silently walking toward the dining table.
Seeing her approach, Laura Pinley beamed, "Ariel, school’s out, huh? Came back a bit late today." As she spoke, Laura served Ariel a bowl of soup and handed it over.
Ariel accepted the soup, smiling slightly: "I was doing homework at school, didn’t notice the time."
Laura was about to respond when Scarlett sneered, "Doing homework or too busy rendezvousing? Ariel Morris, your lying skills are getting slick!"
Ariel lowered her head and drank the soup, not saying a word.
"Mom, I originally planned to invite Arlo Seys to our house as a guest, but Ariel Morris wouldn’t let me invite him!" Scarlett continued to complain.
Laura Pinley and Damien Morris turned to Ariel, their gazes questioning.
Ariel’s hand paused with the spoon, she looked up at her parents, her eyes calm and composed, "It’s not that I wouldn’t allow it, but rather it’s too late today, and the Seys Family has strict tutoring; Arlo must be home by seven."
That remark essentially used the Seys Family as a block against her parents’ questions. Given the Seys Family’s strict reputation, this reason left her parents with no grounds to blame her.
Sure enough, as Ariel finished explaining, Laura’s smile persisted, her voice gentle: "Ariel, how about finding a good day to invite Classmate Seys to our house? He’s your boyfriend, bring him over for us to meet as parents."
Ariel lowered her head, drinking the soup with a low, subdued tone, replying with a slight affirmative noise.
Damien put a piece of food in his mouth, looked at his eldest daughter who was quietly drinking soup, "Having him over for a visit is good, helps mutual understanding. Ariel, have you visited the Seys Family?"
