Love Rents A Room
Chapter 84: Feeling Whole

Chapter 84: Feeling Whole

Joanne let out a small gasp and covered her face, laughing.

The next thing she knew, the bed dipped beneath his weight as he pounced, making her bounce slightly. His warmth surrounded her, his presence consuming every inch of space between them.

She turned her face to the side, but he caught her hand, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to her palm.

"Want to kiss more?" he whispered above her lips, his voice husky, teasing.

Heart hammering, she peeked through her fingers, meeting his gaze.

He was smiling—bright and boyish—but there was a dusting of red on his cheeks too. Was it the alcohol? Or... was it her?

Before she could dwell on it, his lips descended on hers, deep and all-consuming.

And then...

Everything else melted away.

He was gentle. Reverent.

Every brush of his lips against her skin was slow, deliberate—an unspoken vow of devotion. He took his time, worshipping her with kisses, tracing the delicate curves of her body, learning every inch of her like she was a masterpiece he had only just discovered.

His hands moved over her like silk, teasing, exploring, igniting little fires wherever he touched. He wasn’t just preparing her body—he was unraveling her, pulling her apart piece by piece, only to put her back together with the weight of his affection.

She felt breathless beneath him, already drunk on the pleasure of his attention when she whispered, "Be gentle..."

Her fingers curled slightly against his back. "I’m practically a virgin..."

The admission slipped out before she could think.

JD froze, then let out a short, disbelieving snort before collapsing against her chest, laughter rumbling from deep within him.

"What?" she asked, pouting slightly.

His mirth didn’t come from mockery—it was intrigue. Pure, fascinated amusement. This woman, who had just seduced him like a forest nymph, now lay beneath him, blushing like an innocent. She was an enigma, shifting between siren and sweetheart with every heartbeat, and God... he wanted to know everything about her.

Joanne’s cheeks flamed. "Well... it’s been a while since I..." she began, but he didn’t let her finish. His lips found hers, swallowing whatever words she had left.

But JD wasn’t letting it go so easily.

"How long is ’a while’?" he murmured against her lips, teasing.

She groaned and, with a playful huff, flipped onto her stomach, hiding her face in the pillow. "You’ll get blue balls at this rate..." she mumbled.

JD chuckled, his warm breath caressing the nape of her neck as he kissed along her spine. His fingers traced the length of her back, his touch both comforting and maddening.

Even as they joked, the fire between them never dulled.

And when he finally moved to claim her, he was slow, careful, reading her every breath, every tremor. He felt the way her body tensed, the slight apprehension beneath her eagerness.

So he made sure she was ready—completely, utterly ready—until that apprehension melted away into pure need.

Her fingers clenched the pillow as he pushed inside, his lips pressing against the curve of her shoulder.

The sensation sent a violent shudder through her, and before she could help it, she shattered.

JD stilled, letting her ride that first wave, letting her body mold around him, before he began to move—deep, steady, coaxing her pleasure higher instead of letting it fade.

Time lost all meaning.

She melted into him, her body arching, her voice crying out his name in broken syllables, her skin slick against his as he drove her higher and higher until she was lost in the stars.

And when he finally reached his peak, he caught her lips in a trembling, breathless kiss, as if he wanted to drown in her entirely.

He collapsed onto her chest, panting, their bodies still tangled together in the aftermath of what could only be described as pure, unfiltered bliss.

JD brushed damp strands of hair from her forehead, his gaze dark and heavy with satisfaction.

"Let me look at you..." he murmured.

Joanne ran her fingers through his sweat-dampened hair, her body still humming with the echoes of pleasure. She didn’t even know how many times she had fallen apart beneath him.

All she knew was that...

That was... wow.

"Joanne..."

Her name spilled from his lips like a prayer, an extension of the reverence in his touch.

She traced his mouth with the tip of her finger, her voice barely above a whisper. "Jeffrey..."

Who would have thought she could say that name—the name she once hated—with such tenderness, such quiet adoration?

His chest rumbled with a low chuckle, and he scooted closer, drinking in every inch of her expression. Then, without a word, he pulled her into his embrace. She fit perfectly against him, her breath warm against his skin. And in that moment, he felt full—his heart, his soul, his very existence felt whole.

He wanted this for the rest of his life.

To wake up beside her, to spend his nights watching the soft rise and fall of her breath. To kiss away the worries on her brow before she even spoke them. If there was a heaven, surely it was this.

Joanne exhaled softly, nuzzling closer. It was the simple things—how he looked into her eyes before touching her, as if always asking for permission, how he shielded her from the cold, how he kissed her when he finished, like she was more than just a fleeting moment.

From the beginning, he had made sure this wasn’t just a release of pent-up lust.

It had meant something.

More than her body, he had wanted her.

And that... that was everything.

Her throat tightened. She clung to him, burying her face in the crook of his neck. "Don’t leave me, Jeffrey..."

Her voice wavered, thick with emotion, and she hated how fragile she sounded. But she couldn’t help it. In such a short time, he had become someone she trusted. Maybe it was the afterglow, the way her heart was still fluttering from his touch, but the thought of losing him already terrified her.

Jeffrey stiffened slightly, then wrapped his arms around her tighter, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I’m here," he murmured, his voice steady, warm. He could feel the quiet fear laced in her words, the wounds left by past betrayals.

He wondered who had done this to her.

Who had left her so guarded, so afraid to believe in something real?

Whoever that man was, he had broken something precious.

And Jeffrey had no intention of letting her shatter again.

A thought suddenly struck her, and she pulled back just enough to meet his gaze. "Wait... did you use a condom?"

The moment the words left her lips, she realized how very late that question was.
