Chapter 171: Volume 4 Hua Meng’s Sudden Rift Chapter 28 Eve (Part 10)

Xuanji silently followed Yu Sifeng for a while and saw that though his steps were unsteady, he wasn’t as severely drunk as Zhong Minyan. Thus, she softly said, "Si Feng, are you alright?"

He paused for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I’m fine, go back. You don’t need to see me off."

Xuanji uttered an "oh," glanced back at him uneasily, and then turned to walk away. After a while, she suddenly felt something was wrong. She quickly turned around, only to see him standing there, watching her with a gaze she had never seen on Yu Sifeng’s face before, which made her freeze.

He just smiled, waved his hand, and turned to walk away.

Unable to help herself, Xuanji chased after him, wanting to grasp his arm. Somehow, she hesitated, feeling a slight heat at the mark behind her ear, not even knowing what she was afraid of. Her hand reached out halfway and then drew back.

Yu Sifeng paused, reached back, and hooked her arm, pulling her in front of him. He lowered his head, smiled faintly, and said, "If you insist on taking me back, I certainly won’t decline."

Xuanji trembled slightly, hesitated, and nodded. Nonetheless, she couldn’t embrace his arm wholeheartedly and carefreely as she had before. In her heart, he seemed to have changed, no longer the indifferent young man he was; he seemed...somewhat dangerous.

"Why aren’t you happy when all your troubles are gone?" he suddenly asked.

Xuanji remained silent for a while, then softly said, "I-I’m not unhappy. I’m just worried you drank too much and feel unwell..."

Yu Sifeng laughed and lightly said, "My tolerance is much better than Min Yan’s; I wouldn’t be drunk even with two more jars."

He really was being stubborn... Xuanji watched him helplessly and pushed him slightly, making Yu Sifeng stagger, nearly falling down. She giggled, holding onto his arm, and teased, "Still bragging? You’re clearly drunk."

Yu Sifeng laughed heartily, suddenly grabbed her around her ribs, lifted her up, spun her around, and said, "Who’s drunk? Say it again?" Xuanji also laughed, embracing his neck, and feeling the strong smell of alcohol, turned her head away, saying, "It stinks."

He sighed out, and indeed, the smell of alcohol was overwhelming. Just as he was about to put her down, she clung to his neck, not letting go. Feeling playful, he carried her on his back and staggered forward.

Leaning against his neck, Xuanji chuckled and said, "Better not take the wrong path; you’re almost done for."

Yu Sifeng ignored her, just kept walking, and after a while, they reached his guest room. Xuanji hopped off his back and said, "Here you are, I should leave now."

At this moment, Yu Sifeng actually was severely drunk, his mind somewhat unclear, and everything before his eyes swayed. However, upon hearing her mention leaving, he instinctively responded, "I’ll walk you out."

Realizing that was not right, he thought, this back-and-forth of walking each other out could go on until dawn. He chuckled at himself, pushed the door open, and entered, leaning on the doorway. He turned back to look at her with a half-smile, his voice soft, "Why don’t we enjoy some drinks and pleasant conversation, stay up talking all night by candlelight?"

He was joking, and even if she had agreed, he wouldn’t have accepted. Unexpectedly, Xuanji stepped back two steps, shook her head, and said in a low voice, "No, it’s not necessary. You should rest early." Her expression clearly showed fear.

He was taken aback, reached out to pull her, and asked, "What’s wrong?" She hurriedly dodged, seemingly very averse to his touch.

Yu Sifeng retracted his hand, pressed his lips together, and, after a moment, chuckled softly, "I was presumptuous. Sorry." With that, he turned and entered the room, not lingering any longer.

Xuanji stood outside the room for a long time, ultimately worried but not daring to barge in. She could only secretly peer through the crack in the door. After a long while of looking into the dark room and seeing nothing, she pressed her ear to listen, but heard nothing, only to become anxious, scratching her head, not knowing what to do.

Just as she was about to gather the courage to push the door open, it suddenly creaked open. Yu Sifeng, wearing his coat, looked down at her expressionlessly. Xuanji was startled and turned to run, but he caught the back of her neck and quickly dragged her into the room. The door slammed shut with a "bang."

Xuanji was pulled along, stumbling a few steps before falling into a chair. She frantically tried to stand up, but he forcefully pressed down on her shoulders, and commanded in a low voice, "Sit down!" Stunned, she obediently sat in the chair, her eyes pitifully fixed on him as he lit a lamp, poured tea, took some pastries, and finally sat opposite her, staring blankly at her.

After a long time, he handed her a cup of tea and asked softly, "You’re blaming me, aren’t you?"

Xuanji lowered her head, bit her lip, and said nothing. The atmosphere was heavy and immensely awkward. Her gaze wandered from his long, strong fingers to his long hair hanging in front, then to the slightly open area of his chest, and she quickly averted her eyes, daring not to look further.

Suddenly feeling his finger touch her ear, she shivered, tightly closing her eyes, caught between hiding and not. His cool finger brushed past the mark behind her ear, which suddenly felt as hot as fire. She inhaled sharply, grabbed his hand, and said with a trembling voice, "Don’t... don’t touch."

His hand moved to her cheek, feeling scorchingly hot. His heart swayed slightly, and he asked in a low voice, "You’re not blaming me, but you’re afraid of me? Afraid of what I might do to you..."

She startled and pushed his hand away, suddenly standing up and saying, "I’m leaving!"

Before she could turn around, her waist was suddenly embraced from behind. She screamed in surprise and was immediately silenced by his hand, whispering in her ear, "Shh... don’t scream, don’t be afraid." His warm breath sprayed on her ear, a terrifying shiver. She moaned softly, clutching tightly at his hand that was wrapped around her waist, feeling his lips dry and fiery, kissing down behind her ear with a breath tainted with the scent of alcohol.

He was drunk, and she felt she might also be swept away into drunkenness, melting into a puddle of warm wine under his breath, trickling down his body. He suddenly turned her around and kissed her deeply, one hand supporting the back of her neck, his thumb gently caressing her soft earlobe.

He must have been crazy, on a quiet night, alone with a woman, he shouldn’t be doing this. However, perhaps it was the wine, or perhaps her rare shyness was truly heart-stirring, he couldn’t let go. He felt that the body in his arms was soft as if boneless, every curve pressing against him. He truly couldn’t restrain himself, gently lifting her, stepping back, and placing her on the bed, slowly loosening her belts.

By his ear, he heard her murmur, "Si Feng... we will always be together, won’t we?"

He mumbled in a daze, "We will never be apart."

After speaking, a moment of clarity surged in his mind; his body stiffened, and he hurriedly propped himself up, using all his willpower to jump off the bed, muttering, "I was wrong, I shouldn’t have done this."

Xuanji also gradually regained her senses, hurriedly sitting up, fixing her belts, playing with the tassels on her sleeves silently.

Yu Sifeng took a deep breath, sat beside the bed, stroking her hair, and softly said, "I’m sorry."

Xuanji quietly asked, "Why apologize?"

Yu Sifeng paused briefly, then said, "I should respect you, until we are married."

Xuanji remained silent for a long while before saying, "Really?"

Yu Sifeng smiled softly, whispering, "Are you suggesting you are ready now to grant me the rights of a husband? I certainly won’t object... let’s continue then."

Xuanji’s face flushed red, and she pushed his hand away, urgently saying, "I didn’t say that! You pervert!"

It was the first time Yu Sifeng had been called a pervert, especially by the woman he loved dearly, which made him burst into laughter. He lightly tapped her face twice, asking, "So, are you staying tonight? We can sleep and chat."

Xuanji shook her head, jumped off the bed, and said, "I... I’m leaving."

She finally also understood that her previous insistence on staying in his room was very improper. Yu Sifeng tidied up her hairpin for her, was about to open the door to let her out when suddenly, noises from outside reached them, sounding like many people running urgently.

Out of curiosity, they opened the door and saw the place brightly lit; many Fuyu Island disciples were carrying torches, rushing toward the main gate. Yu Sifeng couldn’t help but go over and ask, "May I know what has happened?"

A Fuyu Island disciple answered, "Two Palace Masters from Li Ze Palace have arrived, bringing the flowers for this year’s Flower Pinning Conference."

Upon hearing the words ’Li Ze Palace,’ both of their expressions changed. Xuanji looked up at Yu Sifeng and quietly said, "What should we do, should we go meet them?" Yu Sifeng slowly shook his head, "Let’s wait until tomorrow. But... why would they come so late at night?"

The master had always emphasized proper etiquette and never visited late at night. Furthermore, they mentioned bringing the flowers needed for picking, which meant there were no flower-picking tasks this year because their master had captured a powerful demon? He had never heard anything about this at Li Ze Palace.

He pondered for a long time, unable to figure out the reason, and looked down to see Xuanji staring blankly at him. He couldn’t help but smile, gently pushing her, "Go back for now. I’ll find you tomorrow."

When Xuanji came in, she was hesitating and fearful, and now, reluctant to leave, she had no choice but to slowly turn and walk away. Looking back, Yu Sifeng was still standing there, watching her. A warmth touched her heart, and she waved at him, saying, "You little pervert, continuing wouldn’t have been so bad!"

With that, seeing Yu Sifeng stunned, she couldn’t help but giggle and quickly ran away.

"Don’t be afraid... it’s just about ’monthly tickets’..." Yu Sifeng murmured.(To be continued, for future updates please visit www.qidian.com, more Chapters available, support the author, support genuine reading!)
