Chapter 99: The Trekker Clan

The Trekker Clan was the most notorious Mafia Clan in Germany. They were a group of assassins who lived in the southern part of the country. They do not fear anyone and would kill anyone for the sake of money and power.

Jonathan Trekker was the only son of George Trekker, and his mother was unknown. They said he was adopted from an orphanage because George could not have a child.

Growing up, Jonathan’s life wasn’t that easy. He was trained to become the next Mafia boss of their clan, so there was no time for playing or making friends.

At the age of thirteen, he started having a taste of women and blood. His father gave him two women to fuck and a man to kill.

His first kill? His cousin. He was his only friend, and they grew up together. Promised each other in a brotherhood of loyalty, but Jonathan Trekker slit his cousin’s throat in the end.

They became wanted criminals in Germany and eventually to its neighboring countries. They were involved in murder, prostitution, human trafficking, kidnapping, and many illegal things.

The clan moved to Flousia and lived a quiet life for years. But after learning that the country was open to any underworld organization, they started building their names using a fake identity.

Jonathan worked as a spy in a restaurant near the palace. From there, he gathered information about the royal family. That’s where he learned about Princess Catherine.

The owner of that restaurant, Rusell Miller, was fond of Jonathan because he’s kind and hardworking. He was looking for his long-lost son, and Jonathan found out about it.

He started telling the story of him being an orphan. He told his co-workers that his mom had taken him away from his father. After his mom died, he went to Flousia to look for his father. Jonathan did everything he could so everyone would believe him. He faked his birth certificate. He had pictures of Rusell Miller’s wife with an edited photo of him in it.

Jonathan changed his name to Benjamin. When Rusell Miller heard about it, he asked Jonathan, now Benjamin, to come and meet him. The old man was already dying and believed everything Benjamin had told him. He introduced Benjamin as his only heir, and when he died, he gave all his properties and businesses to him.

Benjamin took care of the business. He was good at handling and making the company grow. The Miller’s became one of the wealthiest families, not only in Flousia but also in other countries.

And from the notorious Trekker Clan, Benjamin changed it to the Miller Clan.

The new family name brought the former members back and started reclaiming the power they once had. He built Miller International Security Agency and Miller Industries. Then Benjamin met with the other Mafia Clan leaders, offering them money and security.

When some of the Mafia Clans sided with him, he made sure that he could control them. He then went into college, where Matthew Forelli, Princess Catherine, and Lucia Castello were studying. It wasn’t a coincidence that he met the three; it was all planned.

In fact, Paolo Santelmo helped him get into college. Benjamin’s goal was to get closer to Princess Catherine. The Santelmo’s didn’t really care about the royal family of Flousia, but he helped Benjamin with a promise that he would help Paolo to get his revenge on the Wilson Clan.

Paolo had no choice since the Santelmo Clan became one of the weakest clans in the underworld. They were at their lowest when Benjamin offered them money, so he made a deal with him. He never asked Benjamin his true motive in approaching the princess.

Paolo believed that Benjamin was really in love with Catherine. She was indeed pretty and smart. When the two first met, Catherine was in a relationship with Matthew Forelli.

Something unexpected happened and eventually led to Benjamin and Princess Catherine running away together. Benjamin was happy at first, but it all changed when Catherine started going out with different men. Benjamin also found out that she met with Matthew Forelli, which triggered him.

Benjamin realized that Catherine was still in love with Matthew Forelli. He found out she was pregnant with Matthew’s child, so Benjamin made a decision that changed all of their lives.

He deceived everyone when Catherine gave birth to a daughter. He told them Catherine died due to an illness, then he took Matthew Forelli’s daughter and left the baby in a mansion.

Then Benjamin started to ruin all the lives of those involved with the royal family. He suggested Paolo to look for someone who could study at Golden Oak High School, and that someone was Nina.

"Are you saying that everything that happened to us, including Jayden and Peggy, was because of Benjamin’s revenge on Princess Catherine?" Andrew asked.

"We can’t really tell what’s his motive. He came from a family of criminals, and maybe he enjoyed destroying the lives of the people he met." Nina answered.

"Mom, you said you met Galatea Vergara when dad brought you to the hospital. She’s Alora’s aunt. Did you meet her after they take you out of that hospital?" Andrew asked.

Andrew’s mom shook her head. "No. After getting me out of the hospital, they took me to the abandoned building for weeks. But I could only see you by the window. I was tied in a chair with packaging tape on my mouth. I always wondered why you were visiting that ramen shop, but seeing you gave me hope, and I was relieved that you were safe and healthy."

"Nina’s family owned that shop. Dad wanted to get that property, so he asked me to talk to them."

"Oh! So, that’s where you met Nina. So when are you planning to get married again? I want a grand wedding." Andrew’s mom exclaimed.

"Mom! Please. We still have a lot of problems right now." Andrew said, annoyed.

Nina didn’t react. She felt a sudden pain in her heart. She wouldn’t blame Andrew since she was the one who broke their marriage vows.

"Andrew! Are you telling me that you won’t marry her again? Are you planning to sleep with her without marrying her?" Andrew’s mom ranted.

Nina felt that the two were starting to argue about the marriage thing. She bit her lips and took a deep breath.

"Ahm. Mrs. Cross, I don’t think this is the right time to talk about it. I don’t want to pressure Andrew about our relationship. I’m happy that Brie finally met her father. That’s enough for me." Nina said.

Andrew’s mom sighed deeply then took Nina’s hand.

"Don’t blame everything on yourself. It would never happen if I disagreed with Galatea." Then she looked at Andrew. " Son, don’t blame Nina. You could blame me instead. I’m a bad mother for putting everyone in danger."

Andrew didn’t say a word, putting his palm to his face.

"The only people we should blame are those people. For now, Nina needs to talk to Peggy and the girls."

Nina was surprised by what Andrew said. She wasn’t ready to talk to them alone, especially with Peggy.

Andrew felt Nina become anxious. He didn’t like the idea, but Luke and Alora suggested it.

"If you don’t like it, I’ll just tell them that you’re not feeling well."

"When will I meet them? Did Peggy know?" Nina asked.

"Luke and Alora invited us to a dinner tonight. I think everyone will be there."

Andrew waited for Nina’s decision. He didn’t confirm to Luke that they would be there and told them that he would ask Nina first.

"Okay. I would have to do it anyway. I’ll talk to Peggy."

"Don’t worry. I’ll be there."

"I know, but whatever happens, let Peggy talk. I deserve it."

Andrew nodded. He knew Peggy was so mad at Nina. Peggy was pregnant during the attack of the Mafia in the palace. She was stabbed by one of the Santelmo’s men, and her baby was killed instantly.

Peggy couldn’t accept Nina’s reason. He couldn’t blame Peggy. No one really knows the pain she felt when she lost her daughter. And the fact that one of her best friends was a spy of the enemy who attacked them almost made Peggy lose her mind.

"Nina, I want you to know what happened after you left." Andrew whispered.

Nina frowned. "What?"

Andrew sighed. "After you left and we found out about you being the Mafia’s spy, Jayden fell unconscious for an hour, I think. When he woke up, he somehow lost some of his memories of Peggy. He couldn’t remember marrying her, but he knew they had a son. But he forgot about his daughter, Mirea."
