“It’s my business how I spoil her. But...” RK paused for a moment and looked at Stella. Finally, he thought about it and said it.

RK left Stella’s office and went back to his office.

As soon as Emily woke up, she felt that her head was heavy. She rubbed her temples and sat up. She picked up the alarm clock on the table and found that it was already past work time. But she was not worried about it. Stella must have taken a leave for her.

Emily lifted the quilt and wanted to pour a glass of water. She felt that if she didn’t drink water, her throat would smoke.

As soon as Emily came out of the bedroom, she heard the sound from the kitchen. After thinking for a while, she walked into the kitchen.

“Ruben?” Emily’s eyes widened as she looked at the busy Ruben in the kitchen. She rubbed her eyes to see if she had seen it wrongly.

Looking at Emily’s silly look, Ruben put down the things in his hand and walked to Emily. He touched Emily’s forehead and found that it was no longer hot. It seemed that the fever had subsided.

“Why are you here?” Emily was sure that it was indeed Ruben, but why was he there? It seemed that he was still cooking.

“Yeah, why are you up? Go and lie on the bed.” Ruben said as he helped Emily to the bedroom.

“Um... I am thirsty. I come out to get for me a glass of water.” Emily remembered why she came out, but she didn’t drink water, so her throat felt uncomfortable.

“Yes, you go back and lie down first. I will get you some water.” Ruben could tell that Emily’s voice was hoarse, but he still helped Emily go back to the bedroom. He pressed Emily on the bed, covered her with a quilt, and went out to get some water for her.

Emily was still in a daze. She never thought that Ruben would come over to take care of her and even cook for her.

As soon as Ruben came in, he saw Emily sitting on the bed in a daze. He walked in and handed the cup to Emily.

Emily smiled at Ruben, took the cup of water, and drank one gulp. She felt that if she didn’t drink water, her throat would surely smoke.

Looking at Emily, Ruben smiled and rubbed Emily’s messy hair that was because she had just woken up.

“Sit down for a while. I will bring the porridge over.” Ruben took the empty cup from Emily’s hand and walked out.

Seeing that Ruben had gone out, Emily immediately picked up her phone and sent a text message to Stella.

Stella thought about what RK had just said and saw her phone vibrating on the table. She picked up her phone and saw that it was a text message from Emily.

Emily: “Why is Ruben here?”

Stella smiled and began to write.

Emily held her mobile phone and waited for Stella’s reply. Although she could guess a little, she still wanted to know it from Stella.

Stella: “Yes, I took leave from RK this morning. He probably told Ruben about it, so I came to work and left Ruben to take care of you.”
