Chapter 419: Chapter 419 Uncle’s return (1)
Vincent was sleeping when a phone call woke him up.
To be honest, for many years, he didn’t sleep very much at night. He could only sleep during the day or after midnight. At other times, as long as he closed his eyes, he would see the scene of him leaving that year.
Now that he had recalled what had happened back then again, it was as if it had just happened yesterday.
He didn’t forget the pains, those wounds, that hatred, and his reluctance.
From a certain point of view, he was sorry for his mother and sister. Most of the time, he felt guilty. After all, he had not done many things that he should have done. He longed for freedom, and hatred for David and Isabella, but even if he was angry, he did not lose his mind. The matter had nothing to do with his sister and his mother. He had been away for so many years, so he was very irresponsible.
He was ashamed and didn’t want to face them, but there were not many opportunities for him to make up for it
The phone rang. It was a call from the hospital.
"Hello, Mr. Pitcher? Madam Grace may not be able to make it. She is in an emergency room now. Please come here immediately."
After hanging up the phone, Vincent was still in a daze.
How... How could this be? How could his mother suddenly fall seriously ill? Could it be that God did not even give him a chance to atone for his mistakes? Why?
Vincent sped to the hospital.
When he arrived at the emergency room, Stella and RK were sitting by the side waiting...
Stella heard a noise. As soon as she looked up, she saw several men in suits and leather shoes coming over in a hurry.
Who were these people? Did they come to see Grandma? Did Grandma know these people?
Stella had a vague feeling that her doubts would be solved that night.
She stood up and looked at the person in front of her carefully.
He was family, very familiar. She seemed to have seen him somewhere, but she also seemed to have never met him before.
Who exactly was he?
Oh, yes, Grandma’s photo. This man looked very similar to her uncle in the photo. However, the person in front of her looked mature and steady. If she didn’t look carefully, she would not be able to recognize that he was the young boy from that year.
"Are you... My Uncle?" Stella asked tentatively.
"Yes, Stella, I am your Uncle. How is your grandmother?" Vincent didn’t talk nonsense and came up to ask about Grace’s situation.
"I don’t know. She is still in the emergency room." Stella looked back at the lights in the emergency room. "Uncle, why did not you come back to see us? Do you still hate us?"
"No, no, I don’t dare to see you again."
As Vincent spoke, his face was full of shame. "It was me who was unfilial. I left without saying a word. I am sorry for what I did to all of you."
"Uncle... I thought you wouldn’t forgive her..." Stella said with tears in her eyes. "Mom... She always thought that you hated her."
"No, how could I... You are my closest relatives. How could I hate you... It’s just that I realized it too late."
He hoped that he could his mother again and say a few words to her. He prayed that his mother would be alright.
RK and Vincent nodded slightly to each other as a greeting. There was still some connection between them, but it was not the right time to chat about the old days. The most important thing at this moment was Grace’s health.
After several long hours, Grace was finally pushed out of the emergency room. The doctors and nurses were all exhausted and depressed.
"I am sorry. I think you should begin to make preparations. I am afraid that the patient won’t be able to live beyond this week." The doctor said he patted Vincent’s shoulder.
Since Vincent was a child, no matter if it was watching TV or something else, as long as he was in the hospital, he hated hearing people apologize. Those words were often a sign of a person’s despair. He was most unwilling to hear those words, and he didn’t want to hear them at all. He would rather be one lying there now, instead of his mother. Unfortunately, he couldn’t change things.
In the world, many things couldn’t be undone or left. Regret was often the most useless thing, but everyone experienced it. Many people were like this, no, maybe everyone was like this. Regret was much more than regret. There were often far more people who had regrets than those who didn’t have any. The only thing people could do was accept reality.
Vincent was regretful, very regretful, very very regretful. Who could tell him what he should do to make himself feel less regretful and guilty?
