Chapter 414 The Wine Cellar
Chapter 414: Chapter 414 The Wine Cellar
After dinner, Adrian and Alia went back to their bedrooms to write in their dairies as arranged by the camp teacher that day. Only Stella and RK were left sitting in the living room.
"Do you want to go to the wine cellar with me?"
After sitting for a while, RK felt bored, so he wanted to take Stella to the wine cellar for a drink.
To be honest, Stella was also bored, so the two of them reached an agreement and went to the wine cellar together.
The wine cellar in RK’s house was one of the best in the city. There, one could find all kinds of precious and rare wines. As long as you wanted to drink it, you would be able to find it there.
Stella remembered that when she first married RK, he had told her that she could go anywhere in the RK Mansion. The first place she visited was that mysterious and spacious wine cellar.
There were rows of shelves in front of her, filled with all kinds of wine from various countries...
As soon as Stella went, she smelled a strong scent of wine...
She couldn’t help but open a bottle of wine that looked very expensive. She sat on the table of the wine cellar alone, drinking and looking at all kinds of wine in the cellar.
To be honest, sometimes people were always like this. They were always greedy for more. After drinking that bottle, she felt that there must be a better bottle...
Thus, Stella opened three or four bottles in one go and drank all. She felt good when she drank them. Unexpectedly, after drinking the wine, the alcohol started to hit her, and she eventually fall asleep on the table. The servants realized that the wine cellar was not closed, so they found her. Otherwise, she might have died in the wine cellar.
To be honest, RK Mansion was very big. If you were to accidentally go somewhere or faint in a small corner and no one notice you, you might die there.
Fortunately, Stella had a relatively important status. Otherwise, she estimated that she would have died in the wine cellar at that time. Maybe the next time when someone went to get some wine in the wine cellar, they would find a pile of withered bones...
Alas, what a tragedy...
Thinking of this, Stella couldn’t help but sigh.
"What’s wrong?"
RK asked.
"It’s okay. I just remembered the time when I was drunk in the wine cellar and almost died there."
Stella smiled.
"Aren’t you embarrassed to say that? That time, you drank four bottles of top-grade red wine. How can you say that?" RK rolled his eyes weakly. "But it wasn’t the first time that someone was drunk in the wine cellar."
"Ah? Who else is so unlucky?"
Stella asked.
"My mother."
As RK spoke, he opened the door of the wine cellar. "When she was drunk and fall asleep in the wine cellar, the whole family went crazy. They searched every corner, but there was no trace of her. I was so worried that I almost cried. I kept looking for her and finally found her in the wine cellar. I was angry and helpless, but I couldn’t bear to scold my mother. In the end, I had to take her back to the bedroom."
"It’s a pity that my father has always loved my mother deeply, but she didn’t know about it. I guess the old couple will be very happy now in the sky."
As he spoke, RK looked out of the window at the sky. "I have always thought that my father and mother were just like me and you, but I am lucky. At least the person I love knows that I love her, while my mother had always been ignorant."
Stella rarely heard RK mention his parents. On one hand, she didn’t want to reopen his wounds. On the other hand, she didn’t dare to ask.
"What happened next?"
That day, she could finally ask that question.
"Later... The two often quarreled, but no matter how fierce the quarrel was, Dad would go home. He never stayed outside and told my mother that it was because he could only sleep in his bed. However, to be honest, I know he didn’t have this habit at all."
RK pushed open the door of the wine cellar. "We are here. Come in."
The familiar wine cellar, the familiar smell, Stella still remembered the taste of those bottles of wine. She walked inside and recalled her memories again. Everything was still the same as before as if nothing had changed. They didn’t change either, they just knew and understood each other better.
RK took out a bottle of red wine from the shelf, opened it, and took out two glasses. He handed one to Stella and sat at the table. They poured some wine and drank while listening to RK tell her about his parents.
"When the car accident happened, I was quite young. The first thing that came to my mother’s mind was to protect me."
"As for Dad, the first thing he thought of was to look at Mom and me. They were sent to the hospital, but they were not rescued successfully. Less than a day after the operation, the two of them left one after another. Before leaving, Dad and Mom were lying together, and they left very peacefully. I guess they don’t have any regrets. After all, they had already known each other’s feelings for each other, right?’
Stella nodded.
RK was right. Life’s value didn’t lie in its duration but in its value.
