Chapter 135: Patching Up With Reva

The room was dim, laced with the faint scent of lavender and alcohol. Reva sat on the couch, legs crossed, wine glass in hand. She didn’t even look at him, except for her remark when he entered.

Xavier closed the door behind him.

"You’re here too," he said, voice low.

No answer.

He stepped forward, hands in his pockets. "You could’ve at least told me."

Still nothing.

She took a slow sip from her glass. Her posture perfect. Face blank. She looked at him like he wasn’t even there.

That silence? It stung more than any insult could.

"Reva, look—"

"You shouldn’t be here." Her voice was cold. Unapologetic. "This is Angel’s room."

"Yeah? Then I’ll wait for Angel to tell me to leave."

Angel was sitting on the side table, scrolling her phone. She sighed loudly, like a tired older sister dragged into someone else’s drama.

"Xavier," she said, looking up. "What the hell’s wrong with you lately?"

Xavier blinked. "What?"

"You know what. You accused Reva of being fake. Of playing with your feelings. Of being a monster." Angel stood now, arms crossed, voice rising. "And what did you do? When you crossed the line, you didn’t even have the decency to bring it up. You just showed up like nothing happened."

"I..." Xavier clenched his jaw. "I didn’t think it would matter."

"It matters to her." Angel pointed at Reva, who still hadn’t moved. "And you hurt her. So yeah, it matters."

There was a beat of silence.

Xavier looked at Reva. Her eyes were blank, but there was something underneath—hurt buried deep behind that cold mask.

"I’m sorry," he said finally. "Okay? I fucked up. I said things I shouldn’t have. I was arrogant. I was mad and... I took it out on you."

Still nothing.

"What do I do?" he asked, voice softer. "What should I do to fix this?"

Reva didn’t answer. Didn’t blink. Didn’t flinch.

He turned to Angel. "She’s not talking to me. So you tell me."

Angel exhaled through her nose, rubbing her temples like a damn lawyer in a murder trial.

"Alright, fine," she muttered. "You want a fix? Then we do this courtroom style."

Xavier raised a brow. "...Seriously?"

Angel stepped between them, eyes sharp. "Reva’s the plaintiff. You’re the accused. I’m the damn judge. Sit your ass down."

He sighed but didn’t argue.

Angel paced for a moment. "Reva doesn’t trust you. You hurt her. Emotionally, mentally—whatever. But you want redemption. So the deal’s gotta be fair."

She turned to Reva. "Speak your terms."

Reva finally looked up.

"His blood," she said, voice calm but icy. "Whenever I want it."

Xavier flinched. "What? No way—"

Angel raised a finger. "Let the plaintiff speak."

Xavier groaned.

Angel turned back. "How often?"

Reva stared him dead in the eyes. "Every day."

"The fuck?" Xavier snapped. "You trying to kill me?"

"You said you’d do anything," Reva replied, emotionless.

Angel smirked. "Objection sustained. Let’s settle this like adults."

Xavier folded his arms. "Once a month."

Reva raised an eyebrow. "Pathetic."

"Three times a week," Angel cut in before another round of bickering could start. "That’s final."

Xavier’s eye twitched. "This feels like it’s all stacked against me."

"Then ask for something in return," Angel said with a shrug. "That’s how deals work."

Xavier stared at Reva.

She stared back, sipping wine like royalty.

Then his eyes narrowed slightly. He tilted his head.

"...Alright."

Angel leaned forward. "Alright what?"

He smirked.

"If I’m giving up blood three times a week..." His gaze didn’t leave Reva. "Then I want something back."

Reva didn’t blink. "What?"

He leaned back against the wall, casual as hell. "Sex."

Silence.

Angel choked on her drink. "What—?"

Xavier shrugged. "You’re drinking my blood. You get your fix. I get mine. Fair trade."

Reva stared at him.

Dead quiet.

Angel just shook her head, muttering under her breath. "You’re such a goddamn man sometimes."

"I mean," Xavier lifted his hands, "we’re both hot. We’re already tangled in this weird vampire thing. Why not benefit from it?"

Reva didn’t say no.

But she didn’t say yes either.

She stood, walked up to him, leaned close—so close her cold breath kissed his ear.

"...Three times a week," she whispered. "And don’t pass out like last time."

She walked past him.

Angel smirked, watching it all like a live drama show. "Court adjourned, bitch."

Reva flicked her finger, as if sealing the contract. "I’ll set the time and dates," she said, her voice cool, measured. "And I get to suck your blood first. Before anything else. First, I suck your blood, and then comes your dick."

Xavier raised a brow. "Yeah, no. I’ll probably pass out or feel like a damn noodle afterward. Sex comes first."

Angel blinked. "He’s got a point."

Reva didn’t argue. She just stared, that unreadable poker face still plastered on.

Angel clapped once, like a teacher concluding group punishment. "Good. Case settled. Now shake hands, patch up."

Neither moved.

Angel stepped between them again. "I said—shake hands. Or I’ll make you kiss instead."

Xavier sighed and reached his hand out.

Reva eyed it like it was made of worms, then finally gave in. Their hands met. Cold fingers. Firm grip. No words.

But Angel wasn’t done.

"Actually," she said, mischief blooming in her grin, "since you two are already throwing words like sex and sucking around like it’s some damn grocery list—why don’t you patch up with a kiss instead?"

Both Xavier and Reva froze.

Their eyes met.

Neither moved.

No one wanted to make the first move. No one wanted to owe the other one a kiss they could be teased for later.

Reva’s lips were tight. Xavier’s jaw clenched.

Angel squinted. "Wait a sec. Since when are you two dating?"

Xavier blinked. "We’re not."

Reva nodded. "We haven’t."

Angel looked genuinely baffled now. "Then why the hell were you just talking about sex?"

Xavier shrugged, casual as hell. "It’s the payment. For the blood."

Angel’s brain short-circuited for a second. "What...?"

Reva answered this time. Calm. Honest. Like she’d already worked it out. "His blood is valuable to him. If he’s willing to give it, I have to offer something equally valuable in return."

Angel narrowed her eyes. "So... your virginity?"

Reva nodded without shame. "Yes."

Angel threw her hands up. "Okay! Nope. Not getting involved. I want no responsibility in this madness. I am not legally binding myself to anything that happens between you two from now on."

Xavier grinned. "Too late. You were the judge. And the witness."

Angel pointed a stern finger. "If I go down, I’m dragging both your horny asses with me."

But then, before Angel could make another sarcastic remark, Reva stepped forward.

No hesitation.

No theatrics.

Just calm steps, and then—she pulled Xavier in by the collar and kissed him.

Xavier’s eyes widened, but he didn’t back off. His hand found her waist, his other slid to her cheek, and he leaned in deeper.

It wasn’t a peck.

It wasn’t shy.

It was a kiss layered with everything unsaid, unresolved, and unstable between them.

Angel stood there with her mouth half open.

"...Okay. Damn."

They finally broke apart, just enough for Xavier to smirk against her lips.

"So... do I get to live now?"

Reva licked her lips, eyes dark. "That depends. How fast can you undress?"

Angel groaned into her palm. "God help me."

Reva turned to Angel with a flat look. "Can you leave the room? We need to start our first session of the week."

Angel blinked at her. "Excuse me?"

Reva didn’t flinch. "We made a deal."

Angel crossed her arms. "I’m not leaving. I own this room, remember? And the club’s rented out today for a private party, so unless you wanna fuck in the storage closet, this is all you’re getting."

Reva stayed quiet for a second. Then, without changing her expression, she said, "That’s not a problem."

Angel raised an eyebrow, already feeling the bullshit brewing.

Then Reva looked straight at her. "At least close your eyes. Maybe put on headphones too, so you don’t hear us banging."

Angel looked absolutely done. "I have a hacking gig to finish. I need my eyes and ears."

There was a brief silence.

Reva slowly walked over to her.

Angel didn’t move, just stared suspiciously.

Then Reva leaned in close and whispered, "Do you... have feelings for Xavier or something?"

Angel stiffened.

Reva didn’t stop. "You jealous that I get to bang him first? Especially when you were the one who met him first? Introduced me to him later?"

Angel pulled her head back and made a face. "It’s not like that."

Reva didn’t press. Just nodded and backed off. "Alright."

She turned to Xavier.

"We can’t fuck right now," she said bluntly. "You’ll have to wait."

Xavier shrugged. "Tch. Not desperate or anything."

He crashed on the couch, pulled his phone out, and started tapping away lazily. Probably checking nothing important.

Reva watched him for a second, then squinted. "How much following did you get on social media after that VR stunt?"

Xavier didn’t look up. "I don’t have social media."

Reva blinked once. Slowly. "You what?"

"I don’t use that crap."

Reva looked genuinely offended. "You’re kidding me. You don’t even have one?!"

"Nope."

"Ugh, move." She didn’t even wait for him to shift—just hopped into his lap like it was her goddamn seat and snatched the phone from his hand. "Give me that. We’re fixing this right now."

Xavier didn’t resist. He just leaned back and let her work.

Reva created the accounts herself, clicking through settings like she’d done this a hundred times before. Which, knowing her, she probably had.

Once she was done, she passed the phone back but didn’t move off his lap.

"You need to go live," she said. "Let them see your face. That way people know it’s your real account."

Xavier tilted his head, amused. "Live?"

Reva nodded. "You’re a trending topic. You’ll pull in at least a few hundred thousand followers in the first few hours."

Xavier stared at the screen.

She stared at him.

Angel grumbled in the background, still typing fast on her laptop, pretending not to listen.

The tension hung in the air, teasing something bigger.

But for now, this was enough.
