Chapter 488: 462 Goddess' Womb_2
Chapter 488: Chapter 462 Goddess’ Womb_2
“In the womb, there are many mutants? Which goddess’s womb is this, Sersi?”
Suddenly, Tang Qi recalled the “traitor” from the Ancient Maya Gods he had seen not long before with Reina Swinton, the goddess with divine positions of hunting and fertility, Sersi. Having the divine position of fertility, it made sense for such a womb to be born.
Following the Information Fragment, Tang Qi instinctively looked up at the top of the corridor wall.
Indeed, a new cocoon was born, only the size of a fist, but it was slowly swelling, with a new figure curled up inside.
“Keep moving!”
Reina and the others didn’t possess Tang Qi’s special abilities, but they too felt the eeriness and horror of this place.
A huge, slimy corridor world, vastly different from the “Mayan Ruins” everyone had imagined. They all realized now that Numba had never truly cared about the so-called “Visares.”
That despicable, shameless Old Wizard had, for some purpose, trapped everyone here.
And he didn’t even use a particularly cunning or masterful plot, but exploited everyone’s greed, confidence, showcasing the vulnerability of the Chituga Tribe, his old age, and the laxity of restrictions, making them believe they were in control.
Little did they know, once they entered, everything was out of their hands.
Now, the only thing to do was to find a way out within this sinister forbidden land.
Because of the sense of crisis in their minds, everyone involuntarily quickened their pace.
But before they could take many steps, they had to stop again.
In front of them, a towering figure was stepping heavily, slowly approaching.
It was a three-meter-tall humanoid creature, seemingly just a layer of snow-white skin wrapped around a skeleton, with a skull for a head and a huge “nursery pouch” on its abdomen, making a “gurgling~ gurgling” boiling sound.
The unique aroma that only emerged after fat had been boiled pervaded the entire corridor, unknowingly. Inside that flesh pouch, a baby lay on its back; it was bloated, snow-white, with no eyes, and a rotting mouth with dried yellow teeth. It seemed to be indulging in the scent, constantly emitting contented sighs and satisfied smiles.
Boom!
An indescribable feeling engulfed everyone’s minds.
Even as Transcendents, they couldn’t resist feeling creeped out.
Their movements were extremely slow, they took a few steps back, turning into another corridor, allowing that humanoid creature to slowly pass by.
From beginning to end, it and the baby never noticed the group.
“Their senses are dulled?”
As everyone formed their judgment, Tang Qi also finished reading the Information Fragment he received.
“Extraordinary Creature: Mutant, birthed from Exotic Realm Race’s genes, acquired value of existence due to inheriting some of the Extraordinary Powers from the original species… but once separated from the Goddess’ Womb, it will collapse entirely.”
“The standard for survival, is it whether they inherit Extraordinary Powers?”
“This kind of mutant, there are many in the Goddess’ Womb, every born being has its source tied to the Exotic Realm Race’s genes, it seems that there’s not only one kind, is the instigator behind this planning to use a multitude of genes, with the help of the Goddess’ Womb, to birth countless monsters?”
An entirely unexpected turn of events for Tang Qi was unravelling before him.
The mere combination of Ancient Mayans, ruins, Evil Seeds… was horrifying enough.
But now, Tang Qi and the others felt as if they had stumbled into an ancient Monster Paradise, comparing to which even facing the Visares Blood Cannon somehow seemed more acceptable.
With such thoughts, they steeled themselves and continued on.
Without a map, or a guide, they had no choice but to follow Reina Swinton, who, though a Warrior Transcendent, seemed to possess extensive knowledge in Mysticism and surpassed everyone else in mental resilience, aside from Tang Qi and Yucatan.
As Tang Qi thought so, he suddenly instinctively sensed something wrong.
In order to avoid the monster with the boiling fat nursery, the group had taken a detour, and as a result, Tang Qi, who should have been at the very end, was now second to last. Behind him should have been the elder from the Mamba School.
But at that moment, Tang Qi couldn’t sense anyone behind him.
“Ah~!”
A shrill scream suddenly echoed.
The already tense group jolted like frightened birds, the Extraordinary Power brewing within them restless and ready to burst.
Tang Qi suddenly turned his head to find that, indeed, there was no one behind him.
The source of the screams lay right at the dead end of the passageway they had previously stopped by. When the group hurried over, what they saw was not the empty entrance of the passageway but a “Flesh Gate”, a doorway made of mutilated corpses and heads with closed eyes.
The corpses, those heads, from an unknown source, were slowly writhing as if a magic cube was being moved by an invisible force, until in the center of the portal a human face slowly emerged. This was a face that couldn’t be identified by Species, age, or even gender, and atop the pair of black and white pupils, was a second pair, and a third pair… until they rose above the very top of the head.
“Invader, speak the Secret Word.”
As the face spoke, all the eyes turned simultaneously to look at the people, and an indescribable Shock, like a flood, burst forth.
In the mental realm, Tang Qi saw a sea of flowers, Red, as seductive as dark red blossoms cycling open, their intoxicating scent pervasive. Wandering through them, one completely overlooked the rotten spiders crawling out of the shadows beneath the flowers, their soft, pitch-black slender legs about to cover everything.
Until the next moment, with a “boom”, Red Flames erupted.
“Ah!”
A piercingly sharp wail assaulted the group’s eardrums.
Tang Qi snapped back to reality, and immediately saw the face on the portal letting out a pained howl, the Light Flames formed by Molten Magic inflicting imaginable damage upon it.
A fragment of Information flashed across the bottom of his eyes.
“Mutants, Eight-eyed Gate, the Body is a Monster that is half-human, half-spider, fond of first reading Human memories, Devouring emotions, and then feasting on Flesh…”
Tang Qi flipped his hand and took out the “Evil Dragon Roar.” He also saw the rest of the group, including Reina Swinton and Timothy, with faces that were sometimes Dull, sometimes Struggling, clearly resisting the Devouring by this Mutant.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
When a torrent of bullets shattered the portal demanding the “Secret Word” into fragments, the group immediately Awakened.
Tang Qi stepped forward, with his other hand discreetly sweeping past.
The long-starved Melter had received a new dose of Fuel.
Feeling the benefits this Fuel brought, a hint of an unusual color surfaced on Tang Qi’s face.
“Similar to Evil Seed, the mutants are also rich Fuel.”
After tasting it, Tang Qi’s tone was very confident.
At last, in this weird, nauseating place, he found a little element to be happy about.
Reina and the others hadn’t seen Tang Qi Devouring the Fuel. After the portal shattered, their gazes pierced through and immediately saw in the corner, an old man from the Mamba Secret Medicine School lying in a comatose State.
He was covered with a viscous, milky-white liquid with strong corrosive properties. However, the Red Robe he wore was obviously a Curios, temporarily withstanding the corrosion.
The old man seemed to have experienced the worst nightmare in the world, no longer smiling with eight neat black teeth but filled with Fear and Struggle, curling up like a baby. Yet from within him constantly emanated a grey Radiance, preventing him from further Pollution.
Tang Qi glanced over and immediately understood.
“He was captured by the Monster, his Mind subject to some degree of Pollution, but he had taken some kind of automatically activated Secret Medicine beforehand that saved his life.”
As Tang Qi spoke, he also felt that after killing the Mutant, the old man was slowly recovering his Essence Energy. Clearly, his ample experience had saved his life, as well as the high-Level Secret Medicine he had taken in advance.
Sure enough, after a few breaths, the old man opened his eyes.
His pupils still held traces of fear, but his expression relaxed slightly when he saw the people again.
Just as everyone was about to ask him what had just happened.
The old man sharply raised his hand, pointing at the corridor wall behind the group.
Including Tang Qi, it was only at this moment that they all suddenly realized the environment around them was changing.
Beneath their feet, all around, those thick membranes were rapidly retracting, with faint black light spilling out, purifying all the “Alien Objects.” The narrow, dark corridor suddenly became a wide, empty hall.
On the walls where there should have been corridors, someone had covered them with bright Red “vermillion” patterns, densely packed, clear yet ancient designs.
