Chapter 468: Chapter 447 Wandering Alchemist

“I look forward to your return, handsome guest.”

Accompanied by the tinkling sound of the door being pushed open from the inside, the old Tailor in formal attire personally saw Tang Qi out. Out of politeness, Tang Qi nodded slightly in response, then carried the now-transformed Gluttony towards the bus stop at the end of the street.

Behind him, the old Tailor watched Tang Qi leave with a look of regret.

Just before, he had personally attended to Tang Qi because the requests of this young customer were so strange that the apprentice tailors in the shop could not cope.

Now, Tang Qi’s attire was completely transformed.

Gone was his typical vacation outfit of a floral shirt, beach shorts, and flip-flops. Instead, he wore a deliberately aged robe, a scarf cloak, and a straw hat, along with an eye-catching kilt for men. Aside from the white undershirt, he was dressed exactly like a local Wandering Alchemist.

Unexpectedly, even though this ensemble made Tang Qi look somewhat frail, it completely unleashed his natural and Mysterious aura.

The old Tailor had wanted to take a hard picture of Tang Qi to use as a promotion in the shop, and in return, he was willing to waive the “costume fee” for Tang Qi and even offer a generous reward.

Unfortunately, Tang Qi refused.

He was now walking on the street, drawing the gaze of many onlookers.

“Although the Wandering Alchemists who once appeared en masse in Sweet Water City decades ago were gradually banned due to the lack of a medical practice license, such a good-looking Alchemist would make one pretend to be sick, just to have him check on them.”

The unrestrained atmosphere of Sweet Water City made such shameless thoughts rise unbridled in the hearts of the passersby.

Tang Qi, who was very pleased with his new outfit, was riding the bus towards a new destination.

Having learned of the so-called “prophecy,” Tang Qi guessed that the Chituaga Tribe, or that eerie Old Wizard called “Numba,” did not know his real identity, nor were they aware of his impressive past battle achievements.

They just saw Tang Qi as an Alchemist in need of rubber fruit, most likely an Inheritor of the Original Secret Medicine School.

Thus, they used the rubber fruit as bait to lure Tang Qi.

Before discerning the “Truth,” Tang Qi did not plan to flip the table but to quietly observe how things would unfold.

For this reason, becoming a real Secret Alchemist seemed very necessary.

A dozen minutes later, Pontia Street.

Tang Qi got off, his attention immediately captured by the striking building in the center of the street.

Like a castle standing in the middle of a bustling metropolitan city, with its gateway wide open. Although located in a decent area and a very popular Ghost House, it was daytime after all, and most tourists preferred to appreciate the beautiful bodies on the beach.

Tang Qi, carrying Gluttony now turned into a Medicine Box, headed towards the “Erebos” Ghost House.

Before entering, Tang Qi glanced at the Evil God Sculptures and Demon statues erected outside the castle, which had “Customer Notice” inscribed in the twisted Ancient Federation Language at the base. The gist of it was that once inside, any fright they encountered would be their own responsibility.

It’s the usual notice that most Ghost Houses have, and no one really takes it to heart.

Stepping into the hall filled with various skeletons, terrifying props, and jars of Formalin-soaked organs, Tang Qi swept his gaze over the reception desk, which was devoid of anyone.

There was not a single receptionist or staff member to welcome visitors.

“Eh, why is there no one?”

Tang Qi was followed into the hall by two couples, all curious as to why there was not a single receptionist present.

Right then, screams came from the end of the hall, within a dark and narrow corridor.

Immediately after, seven or eight Human Figures came running in complete disarray.

As they ran, they let out hysterical shrieks.

“There’s a Monster, run, get out of here.”

“It’s real, real ghosts.”

“Those people are all dead, all dead, go, Erebos is a scam… Ah!”

The last shriek was followed by two of the figures at the back, who were suddenly grabbed by some force and violently thrown to the ground, then dragged into the dark depths.

This eerie sight made the two couples behind Tang Qi cling to each other, hesitation visible on their faces, swinging between “this is a prank” and “horror, escape,” undecided on what to do.

Suddenly, there was a rush of air from behind, and with a loud bang, the massive door shut automatically.

In an instant, everyone began to scream.

Meanwhile, those stumbling out of the corridor, under the dim light, had faces that appeared as if clawed by sharp claws or gnawed upon by large jaws. The impact of these mangled faces caused the couples to turn crazily and try to run, pounding the solid door, attempting to pry it open.

But obviously, it was futile, and at that moment, those who were gnawed upon by the Monster abruptly raised their heads; the bloody, blurred faces suddenly lit up with a greenish glow in their pupils, staring down Tang Qi and the two couples, growling low.

“I’m so hungry…”

“Ptth!”

The one who broke into laughter wasn’t Tang Qi, but the first Mutant who had approached Tang Qi.

He was about to spit out the second line of his script when he realized the frail youth in front of him showed no signs of being frightened and was looking at him with a ridiculing smile. The employee, realizing his cover was blown, couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing.

With that laughter, a large chunk of fake flesh on his face suddenly fell off, revealing the snow-white skin underneath, and it turned out to be a rather good-looking female Receptionist.

When one person breaks character, the rest can no longer keep acting.

When the lights came on, several mutants began laughing at once, then greeted the two couples with a torrential baptism.

But these receptionists seemed accustomed, or even delighted in it. When the couples wanted to complain about their treatment, the staff shamelessly directed them outside to read the customer notice at the base of the “Erebos” sculpture.

It was Tang Qi, however, who received a reward for uncovering them.

“Congratulations, guest. You’ve won a free Ghost House experience. We have thirteen Ghost Houses for you to choose from, or you can opt for a personalized custom experience. For instance, if you fancy being buried alive, we can bury you directly in quicksand or deep within a swamp. You will then experience the unique sound of sand rolling and worms wriggling as you draw close to death.”

“Of course, none of these options will threaten your life.”

“Uh, if I may be so bold, you don’t have any conditions like a heart disease?”

The female receptionist, having removed her gory makeup, was excitedly presenting a pile of materials to Tang Qi.

A quick glance was enough for him to understand why this Ghost House was so popular.

With all sorts of preparations and setups, it was convincingly real, and their “welcome gift” was particularly unforgettable.

“However, this style of customer reception must generate complaints, at least ten to twenty times a month, I presume,” Tang Qi thought to himself, recalling Savoy’s opinion of the Ghost House.

Promptly, he jabbed his finger on a page of the material.

“Horror Factory, good eye. This is our most hardcore Ghost House.”

The female receptionist glanced at it and immediately praised him.

After speaking, she left the couples behind and led Tang Qi deep into the corridor.

Passing through a narrow hallway, room after room filled with screams of terror, Tang Qi’s figure appeared inside a huge factory. All sorts of noisy sounds instantly surrounded him, as he passed visitors who were frightened yet eager to try.

In sight, besides a madman waving a meat cleaver and naked monsters drenched in blood, there was a Pig Demon Monster with its body studded with iron stakes… and various heavy machinery, like walls that boomed together before separating again, and buzzing chainsaws swinging back and forth. And at the factory’s center, attracting much attention, something large making “bang bang bang” noises.

It looked like an oil drill, but shaped like an “Seal” magnified many times over, smashing down with terrifying force.

Each impact on the base plate made the entire factory tremble.

It was hard to imagine what would happen if that thing smashed into a person—would they turn directly into minced meat?

This was why, despite the notice next to it stating, “Death Drill poses no threat to life, users may receive a free-of-charge bonus,” most visitors preferred experiencing other scare attractions, like being chased by a meat cleaver madman in a complex workshop, than facing the drill. They gave it puzzled looks, quickly followed by contemptuous expressions that seemed to say, “Yeah, right.”

“Guest, would you like to experience…”

Before the receptionist could finish speaking, Tang Qi stepped straight through the crowd. While the drill ascended, he boldly stood atop it.

Then, the next moment, a “click” sounded, all visitors screamed as the terrifying drill plunged down with a crash.

Smoke and steam billowed out.

The expected loud crash didn’t occur. As the drill rose again, the base remained bare, with no blood or bodies to be seen. The “suicidal guy” had vanished without a trace.

Seeing this, a few braver visitors began to stir.

At this time, Tang Qi, standing inside the real castle, was examining a mark on the back of his hand—it looked somewhat like the Seal in the Mysterious Valley, with some differences in detail.

“A temporary mark from the Extraordinary Market, validity period: one day.”

“Interesting!”

Muttering to himself, Tang Qi looked forward at the large and unique market.

It was still the same castle, but the visitors were gone. The thirteen Ghost Houses had all turned into trading markets, each selling Curios, materials, or other services of a different nature according to style.

In the spacious corridor, various “monsters” bustled about.

Aside from human Transcendents, there were entities such as Ghosts, demons, and Magic Beasts, striking a stark contrast with the fake ghost houses of the outside world.

Tang Qi mingled among them, entering the first Ghost House.

Unsurprisingly, it was a meat processing plant transformed into a market. Tang Qi glanced over the stalls and saw all sorts of hardcore, Brutal, and modern Curios and materials for sale.

One stall in particular caught Tang Qi’s gaze.

It featured rows of golden, greasy roasted whole pigs, emitting faint ghost lights.

The stall owner was a pig-shaped Demon, standing upright in a greasy white undershirt, wielding a huge meat cleaver.
