Chapter 463: Chapter 442 Ms. Taoles

“Mysterious Side Common Knowledge: If words like Savior, Child of Destiny, or Savior… are mixed into a trade, it’s highly likely a scam or a conspiracy. This was proven during the Immortal Earl’s Major Event.”

Tang Qi carelessly threw the Arrow Cluster back into the box, his brows slightly furrowed. Whatever conspiracy or plans the old wizard from the Southern Continent had, he made no effort to conceal them, likely confident in the attractiveness of his offer.

“Those adventurers who took up my bounty to find rubber fruit have all failed. Could it be the old wizard’s tribe causing mischief, monopolizing the region that produces rubber fruit? This matches the information in Professor Cassel’s memory; even in the vast Yamada Jungle, rubber fruit truly only comes from that small area.”

“So, is the old wizard’s goal me personally, or the Original Secret Medicine School? Or does he genuinely seek reliable help?”

Many thoughts flitted through Tang Qi’s mind.

His face showed normal contemplation. Then, he looked up, pushed the box back and told the red-vested bartender, “I’ll need a few days to consider.”

“No problem, guest,” the bartender replied, “This item is stored in the market for five days. Once the time limit is reached, the transaction is automatically canceled.”

After finishing, Tang Qi stood and left the private trade room.

He didn’t immediately return but lingered in the Old Tavern for half an hour.

During that time, he spoke with Savoy, during which the bartender expressed his resentments.

For instance, Tang Qi had taken away their bar’s most popular young burgeoning witch waitress Lei, as well as his first girlfriend Courtney. Since being employed by Tang Qi to be the head chef of the Witch School, her overwhelming work zeal had cut down their dating time.

Clearly, the latter was the real source of Savoy’s grievances; even Extraordinary Creatures have their pure-hearted lads who want to be glued to their lovers every day.

As for Lei, after receiving Tang Qi’s invitation, she almost immediately decided to resign from the tavern to join the Outer Institute of the Merada Special Education School.

She wasn’t really the most popular waitress in the tavern. As everyone knew, the highest-priced server there was a male, half-man half-bull, a true “expensive Bull Herder.”

Many young noble ladies entering the Mysterious Side, or well-known wealthy women, come to the bar to specifically request the half-man half-bull server named Bigla.

Of course, the tavern keeps its services very clean, involving nothing disharmonious.

After getting the information he wanted from Savoy, Tang Qi returned to the Library Tower.

When he reached the fourth floor, he didn’t stop but went up to the fifth.

Despite the old wizard’s “invitation” reeking of conspiracy.

Tang Qi still needed to make a choice; a direct refusal meant he may not get the rubber fruit, and his cultivation in the Original Secret Medicine School would stagnate even longer.

But to agree?

Venturing into an unfamiliar place, even Tang Qi had to weigh the risks.

So, he decided to use a method left by the Witches.

Before this, he asked Savoy just to confirm if there were any issues with the Extraordinary Market in Sweet Water City.

It’s unlikely, but it never hurts to be cautious.

By a coincidence, Savoy knew the person in charge of the Extraordinary Market in Sweet Water City, who, according to Savoy, loved the liquor he brewed and was a strong, honorable person, certainly without issues.

With Savoy’s assurance, Tang Qi still needed other preparations.

Stepping onto the fifth floor, familiar scenes came into view.

Other than the Magic Array in the center, there were statues of generations of Merada Witches on the walls.

This place was one of the forbidden areas within Dragon Heart Castle.

Tang Qi came not to look at the Magic Array that could cast Green Dragon Breath, but directly looked at the wall, his gaze moving for a few seconds, finally resting on a particularly different-looking witch from the other Merada Witches.

This was a witch resembling a dwarf, with a huge head and wild unruly white hair cascading down like weeds, covering an old, ugly face that was scarred and bumpy.

Anyone who looked would be haunted with nightmares by night.

She didn’t belong here, as each generation of Merada Witches was supposed to be exceedingly beautiful.

This one looked more like the “Evil Old Witch” from a dark fairy tale.

Tang Qi stepped forward, his gaze falling on the crooked text beneath the statue; in Ancient Federation Language, it roughly meant:

“Powerfully and single-handedly lowered the overall attractiveness of the Merada Witch Group, the lovely Ms. Taoles.”

Witches have no graveyards.

This place, more like a graveyard for the Witch Group, hence the epitaph on the tombstone seemed left by the witch herself.

With a playful tone, it made Tang Qi imagine a very ugly, yet extremely charming witch.

“Ms. Taoles was certainly an interesting person.”

Tang Qi murmured with a smile, then he took out the Leader Token.

Magic Power activated, and the seemingly inanimate statue under the ghost light, gradually came to life.

The previously rigid face suddenly became animated, and a pair of eyes as if always smiling, abruptly focused on Tang Qi.

With a raspy voice filled with joy, it soon spoke.

“Wow, what a handsome and lovely wizard.”

“My dear, you have a good eye, Ms. Taoles is the most special of the Merada Witches.”

“Now, tell me, what do you need Ms. Taoles to do for you?”

A string of words spilled out from the resurrected Ms. Taoles.

For a moment, Tang Qi couldn’t get a word in.

Now he could confirm that those words must definitely be from Ms. Taoles herself, engraved on her own tombstone.

Although somewhat noisy, Tang Qi’s face did not show any impatience, and his gaze towards Ms. Taoles held neither disgust nor pity, but was instead a light smile, as if facing a normal friend.

Although this was not the real Ms. Taoles, just her consciousness clone.

All sculptures here were the same.

Merada Witches who reached a certain “critical point” would leave behind consciousness clones before their death.

Each clone, taking advantage of this special environment, could cast the witchcraft they were best at.

In personality, the clones were indistinguishable from the person themselves.

This is why Tang Qi respected them; to some extent, they were Merada Witches who could be resurrected.

As the light in Ms. Taoles’s eyes grew brighter, Tang Qi gave a bow and said:

“Ms. Taoles, I’m currently acting as the leader of this generation of Merada Witches. I may need to undertake a distant journey and adventure, but I have too little information to be sure of its safety. I hope you could perform a divination for me.”

Tang Qi spoke his question politely and calmly.

“No problem, my Lord Leader.”

After hearing Tang Qi’s request, Ms. Taoles didn’t hesitate and winked at him.

After making her witty remark, her snow-white hair began to grow wildly, crisscrossing and intertwining freely in the air, accompanied by surging magic power. Tang Qi’s vision was almost filled with white strands, a vast expanse of white world.

Several orbs of ghost light, unmistakably vivid.

Those were hair knots haphazardly intertwined, strong magic power emanating from them, faintly forming a curious and abnormal pattern.

In Tang Qi’s mind, upon recalling the “Mysterious Hair Ties”, Ms. Taoles’s voice pierced into his ears.

“Handsome Lord Leader, in a few days, you will travel to the blazing Southern Continent, you will encounter irresistible temptations, but within the darkness, crazy figures are lurking, watching your power. Be wary of them, crush them, and only then you will taste the sweet honey.”

As what sounded like a swindler’s “fable” concluded, numerous illusions before Tang Qi also collapsed.

Looking again, the lovely Ms. Taoles had reverted back to a statue.

Tang Qi stood in place, pondered for a moment, then once again bowed to Ms. Taoles and turned to leave the fifth floor.

“Ms. Taoles is the best diviner among the past generations of Merada Witches. If not for her inherently weak constitution which led to her short life, perhaps in prophecy and divination, she could have surpassed the First Generation Melada… Her prophecy predicts dangers and temptations, someone watching my power, but since it’s not a strong warning, it suggests Ms. Taoles believes my strength is sufficient to crush them.”

“Survive the peril, and there will be great rewards?”

When Tang Qi stepped back onto the fourth floor, he already had a resolution in mind.

In fact, even without Ms. Taoles’s divination, he would still have accepted the invitation after making necessary preparations.

The rubber fruit, indeed is an excellent bargaining chip.

After making the decision, Tang Qi did not delay, immediately starting to arrange some matters within the school.

The construction of Queen Serano was temporarily paused.

The Extraordinary Practical Combat Class was handed over to Eva.

At the same time, partial authority over the fifth floor of the Library Tower and the “Flame Goddess” defensive magic surrounding Lake Heart Island Secret Realm was temporarily granted to Professor Eva.

Previously, even with the authority, Eva couldn’t use them.

But now it was different, as she had reached “Professional Level”, capable of leveraging the “Green Dragon’s Breath” and “Flame Goddess” to unleash power comparable to Legendary Level.

With these preparations, even if someone took advantage of Tang Qi’s departure to launch a sneak attack on the school, it would be manageable for a while, enough for Tang Qi to hurry back.

Additionally, from his three pets, Tang Qi would only take Gluttony with him this time; the Night Beast and Vilnas Fairy were to stay within the Secret Realm.

Both seemed to be entering a period of rapid growth; the environment within the Secret Realm was suitable for their progress.

Should any unexpected events occur, the two little guys were also a powerful force.

When everything was settled, it was already three days later.

On the fourth floor of the Library Tower, Tang Qi, now ready to go, holding what still appeared to be a suitcase in the shape of Gluttony, looked smiling yet not smiling at the two, the Night Beast and the Fairy who could hardly hide the joy in their eyes. The two little guys seemed like they were bidding farewell to a parent about to embark on a long journey.

Just waiting for Tang Qi to step through the door, they could completely frolic.

Tang Qi hummed, rewarding each with a knock on the head.

With a casual swipe, illusions like shimmering lights appeared, on the other end was Leah in urban white-collar attire, visibly surprised as she looked at Mr. Principal in front of her.

Then, Leah, working in the Outer Institute, received her first task.

“Leah, book me a plane ticket, tonight at midnight, to… Sweet Water City.”
