Lord of Mysterious Wizard -
Chapter 461: 440 Seventh-level Preselection
Chapter 461: Chapter 440 Seventh-level Preselection
Green Dragon Ridge Lake, Lake Heart Island Secret Realm.
The sky was beginning to brighten ever so slightly. At this most peaceful moment, the grand Dragon Heart Castle was surrounded only by the rustling sounds from the misty forest, the sound of emerald lake waters hitting the white sandy beaches, and the gentle breeze wafting through.
In a scene that resembled an Immortal Realm, a void portal opened. Tang Qi, who had been rushing about all night, emerged from it, holding Gluttony. On the other end was a rundown street, a derelict residential area, and a new ice cream truck playing children’s songs trailing away.
Besides Gluttony, Tang Qi held a stack of documents, exuding the scent of ink.
It was shared by the Stone-Eyed Agent, containing internal information from the World Tree Foundation about Contained Objects, danger levels, and judgement criteria. The Ancient Castle Bureau had similar information, but obviously not as thorough as that provided by an organization like the World Tree Foundation.
Actually, the Federation Universal Level was jointly established by “World Tree” and “Ancient Mystical Vault,” these two permanently neutral organizations, together with other Extraordinary Organizations.
Tang Qi returned to school, quickly flipping through the documents.
Combined with the personal experiences of last night, he gained a deeper understanding.
Whether it was Transcendents, Curios, or the Contained Objects of various large organizations, or even issued bounty tasks, they could all be classified under the “Federation Universal Level”.
Eliminating unknowns, starting from Level 1 to Level 4, most Transcendents can participate, but there is still inherent uncertainty.
A common problem on the Mysterious Side is that nothing is certain.
Perhaps a seemingly insignificant item could, due to some mutation, lead to a terrible disaster.
Beyond Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6 are not accessible to those below Professional Level, and even if participated, the risk factor and death rate would skyrocket.
As for Level 7, that domain belongs to Legends and Demigods.
Further up, Levels 8 and 9 have only lines of dazzling red marks on the documents, signifying extreme danger, unknown dangers, untouchable, incomprehensible… Even when Tang Qi inquired, the only answer was: Insufficient authority!
He had a glorious record, but the Mysterious Side has strict standards.
Perhaps in the eyes of many organizations, the principal of Merada Special Education School, a mysterious wizard, was just a somewhat capable “Lucky One”.
During the Dark Age, such Lucky Ones were not rare.
There had even been instances where an ordinary human, through a series of coincidences, bizarrely killed an Evil God.
But such “luck” usually couldn’t always be maintained, and once the favor was lost, their true form would be revealed.
“Based on my numerous actions, I cannot reach the Demigod standards, but I am definitely above the Professional Level.”
Tang Qi shook the documents, then with a tap of his feet on the morning dew, he walked alone through the towering castle. Along with some Magic Creatures and Mechanical Creations, the students and teachers were resting. Tang Qi didn’t disturb anyone and silently returned to the fully repaired fourth floor of the Library Tower.
He went straight to the Meditation Room, and after thirty minutes of meditation, Tang Qi restored his depleted spiritual power.
At this moment, his progress in “Golden Furnace Meditation” had jumped to nine percent.
Just one more step, and he could continue to enhance “Judgement” or “Red”.
“Compared to other Melter Wizards, I’m just like someone who lazes around all day. If the Master of the Crucible wasn’t asleep and noticed my existence, would he take out a small whip, whip me daily to confront Evil Gods everywhere, sacrificing others… If it really came to that, I could only drop out… well, I should say, give up my identity as a Melter Wizard.”
Tang Qi muttered this to himself, yet his expression grew solemn.
Giving up the profession!
These four words, on the Mysterious Side, were usually associated with misfortune and death.
The Order Camp might be slightly better, but in the Chaotic and Evil Camp, that is support-related professions, one must also pay a tremendous price to possibly succeed.
The Master of the Crucible belonged to Order, and coupled with him being asleep, Tang Qi’s level as a Melter Wizard was not high, so he still had ample time to make the necessary preparations.
Burying these thoughts deep in his heart, Tang Qi greeted the Night Beast and Little Fairy in their own rooms. He looked outside at the “Queen Serano” still stationed in the beach area, grabbed Gluttony, and turned towards Esmeralda’s material warehouse.
This was a large circular warehouse, every inch and corner meticulously clean, with not a speck of dust to be found.
In the center was a circular Magic Array, complex patterns and lines outlining the figures of little elves, surrounded by incredibly tall wooden cabinets reaching the dome, with many compartments positioned beneath a strong Magic Rune Array.
The engravings on each storage compartment’s surface were somewhat inconsistent, seemingly based on the rarity of the materials or Curios, eventually merging to form a complete Magic Array.
Of course, numerous compartments were empty.
Tang Qi, arriving with Gluttony, didn’t need to rack his brain this time, considering his master’s “track record” in the warehouse, Gluttony very willingly “vomited” out a large amount of materials, some low-level Curios, accumulating in the center, with occasionally dozens of Curse Coins rolling around.
As Tang Qi thought moved, the magic array below burst into light, reviving about a dozen hamster-like little elves who began methodically sorting and placing Tang Qi’s last night’s “harvest.”
All of these were mission rewards.
Also included the only Level 6 character, solving YDF-066.
Usually, bounty missions offer two types of rewards, Gold Coins and Mysterious Materials.
Transcendents in need of money would choose the former.
And Tang Qi, naturally and without hesitation, chose the latter, most of which came from the World Tree Foundation, all marked as ‘safe’ low-level contained objects and materials.
After the Stone-Eyed Agent had contained the monster, he handed Tang Qi a form on the spot.
Giant Rock Warrior Andy also received a copy, but clearly not as good as Tang Qi’s choice, he opted for a combination of Divine Grace and Curios.
As they parted, Tang Qi and the two exchanged business cards, agreeing to meet next time for drinks at the “Old Tavern”.
“It is said that lower-level Transcendents, after completing a mission, go through a period of verification before receiving their rightful reward, proving that they are not extended credit, which is one of the proofs that I have entered into the high-level Transcendent tier.”
While he was lost in thought, the hamsters had already returned.
They had cleared and organized the data Tang Qi had supplemented, and subsequently brought back a large pile of new materials.
Tang Qi let Gluttony devour the mountain-like pile of Curious Materials before turning towards the beach area.
“I’ve got work to do!”
As his voice fell, Tang Qi’s figure had already appeared inside Queen Serano.
With a flip of his hand, an operating guide appeared.
This was one of the routines Tang Qi set for himself, continuing the crafting of Queen Serano.
Undoubtedly, this was a long-term project.
While practicing his Casting Skill, it also added an extremely high-level Curios for the Merada Special Education School.
If he were to craft such a extraordinary-class airplane out of thin air, with his wild casting skills, it would be difficult, but if he continued with the guide left by Master Hansel, it turned the impossible into a challenging task for Tang Qi.
“If I’m lucky, I might also get a chance to glimpse Master Hansel’s casting techniques.”
“Let’s begin!”
As the last words were uttered, Tang Qi’s hand suddenly produced a large hammer, and Molten Furnace Flames surged forth; behind him, Gluttony’s two straps hung a plethora of tools clanging, while the Night Beast and Elf also wore yellow work attire, following their owner into the depths of the Queen Serano with determined expressions.
…
Brown Kangaroo Town, a typical small town in the Eastern Federation with shorter houses and neat farms.
Underneath its mundane appearance, underground, a complex building like an “Underground Fortress” exudes a cold, mysterious aura.
Accompanied by a loud thud of the huge elevator falling down, a group of masked agents appeared, led by the Stone-Eyed Agent who nodded towards another “Strange Bird” agent, indicating behind him the square coffin containing “YDF-066”.
Soon after, he alone left the group, walking straight through the complex silvery-white corridors, avoiding eye contact with anyone.
Moments later, he arrived in front of a gigantic gateway.
Accompanied by several buzzing sounds, beams of fluorescent light from various directions simultaneously illuminated him.
Half a second later, a “beep” sounded and the huge door silently opened.
A massive sucking force suddenly enveloped his body, sweeping him into the portal.
What appeared inside was akin to an abyss or some sort of futuristic passage. Uniform ghost light, with smooth, vast silvery metal walls faintly visible in the far distance, both above and below seemed endless, stretching deep into the interior.
The “Stone Eye” mask on his face gradually dislodged, revealing a face that seemed middle-aged yet elderly, with eyes that appeared to have the insight to see through human hearts, while everything else seemed ordinary.
“Start recording!”
The deep voice suddenly resounded.
Immediately, a mass of light and shadow flew out from the single-eye pattern on the mask, turning last night’s experiences into something like a realistic movie, with scenes involving Tang Qi being separately selected and compiled together, along with commentary from the Stone-Eyed Agent.
“First contact with the target, appears as a high school student about seventeen, mature, cautious, and composed. In this battle concerning the containment of YDF-066, displayed fire-based witchcraft, Super Speed, and a high-level Extraordinary Gun… Consolidating information from other sources, the target possesses combat capabilities far exceeding Professional Level and has a Demigod Level Corpse, proficient in knowledge of the Age of Ignorance, Dark Era, and Ancient Mysterious Side… Suggest listing the target as a Seventh-level Preselection, Camp assessment: Neutral, potential to establish a certain level of cooperation, initial procedures commenced.”
“Entered by, Stone-Eyed.”
As the last sentence was uttered, the mask flew back onto his face.
The cluster of light and sound that recorded the experiences twisted and surged, flying towards the silver corridor and the moment it touched, a recessed slot appeared, sucking in the ghost light, and quickly returned to normal.
