Chapter 442: Chapter 422 Mysterious Daily Federation Chapter
Deep within the magnificent Green Dragon Ridge Lake, the inverted Lake Heart Island Secret Realm, Merada Special Education School increasingly carried the mystical air of a “Witch School”. Between the towering castles, students and teachers, whose bodies radiated a magic power that touched the heart, came and went.
Mysterious knowledge, secret medicine, bloodline control, extraordinary practical combat… a myriad of classes proceeded in an orderly fashion.
Yet amidst the hustle, there was a faint sense of excitement evident on the faces of both students and teachers. Groups of students gathered at stairway entrances, classrooms, or even in dormitories, discussing something with great enthusiasm.
Professor Eva walked through the corridor, listening to these discussions, followed by a mechanical puppet that was helping her carry a large pile of items.
She didn’t stop these discussions and couldn’t, since the topics being debated by the students were even more exaggerated outside the school in the extraordinary world.
This was normal; with the aftermath of a significant event, substantial waves would inevitably be stirred.
Especially coincidentally, the Merada Special Education School found itself at the center of the storm, unavoidable.
As she made her way towards the Library Tower, Professor Eva thought of Tang Qi’s methods of dealing with the crisis, giving the involuntary evaluation: Principal Tang Qi seems more suitable than Lady Esmeralda.
Her train of thought paused suddenly as Professor Eva remembered something else, her face reddening slightly with an awkward emotion, which quickly returned to normal.
…
From the fourth floor of the Library Tower, Tang Qi walked out of the Meditation Room.
Having spent half the night, his body’s magic power was now replenished and had even made slight advancements.
As he made his way to his workbench, Tang Qi subconsciously reminisced about last night’s “combat”.
“Leckter was well-prepared, hiding the most important Ninth Angel in Secret Phoenix City to evade the reach of the Church and official powers. After all, an Ancient Castle Bureau and the Secret Phoenix Branch would find it hard to deal with an angel fetus that had kidnapped a million civilians.”
“He had anticipated the Church and officials’ reactions, setting up bait and arranging allies, buying himself a few precious breaths of time. As long as he survived those few seconds, a Divine would join the ranks of All Spirits, and no matter if the means were as disgraceful as stealing or robbery, once seated in the Divine Position, none of that mattered.”
“Future history might regard him as the Shepherd’s God, becoming an exceedingly hated blemish of the Bright Church.”
“Unfortunately, it seems he didn’t anticipate my existence…”
Suddenly, Tang Qi realized an inconsistency.
“Leckter could predict the Church and officials’ moves with careful planning, almost certainly he possessed prophetic ability or the relevant Curios. But he completely overlooked me—due to Diana’s demigod status? Or because of my own unique characteristics? Or some other reason?”
Pondering for a moment, Tang Qi realized there were many possibilities and insufficient clues to derive a reason.
“My powers couldn’t harm Leckter, neither could Diana’s, but disguised and getting close at the critical moment could disrupt his ascension to godhood.”
“Had he simply left at that moment, instead of irrationally touching the Mysterious Light again, none of what followed would have occurred, becoming a treasure coveted by both the Dark Evil God and humans, his fate almost certain.”
“I killed him with Green Dragon Breath merely to eliminate future troubles; a dead Evil God is the best kind of Evil God.”
As the thought occurred, Tang Qi was reminded of the power he wielded last night, which wasn’t inherently his own.
The power of the Secret Realm!
As the stronghold of the Witch Group, the Lake Heart Island Secret Realm had not only a multitude of witchcraft defenses but also some offensive capabilities.
That “Green Dragon Gem” was the key that the witches had used to discover and control this realm, ostensibly left by an ancient green dragon, a Dragon Gem at its core. It was not only central to the realm but intimately connected to the entire Green Dragon Ridge Lake.
“In many ancient languages, green dragons symbolize nature and life, creatures from the same era as ancient elves, and even more mysterious and powerful. They were active in the Dark Age, but as it progressed to the Dark Ages, dragons gradually vanished, becoming the stuff of legends.”
“The Green Dragon Gem possessed formidable power, but even the witches hadn’t unlocked many of its capabilities, managing to exploit its stored energy only at intervals through an altar activation to unleash a single Green Dragon Breath.”
“Using it required preparation time, at least one high-level Professional, and the Witch Leader’s authority. Its broad attack range was useless against fast-moving, small-sized targets. After its release, it needed recharging, which could take days or months.”
“Its power was not as immense as imagined; killing Leckter was largely due to the combined efforts of two Evil God projections and that coming from mysterious Devouring.”
Having summarized, Tang Qi arrived at his workbench, flipping over his palm, revealing an item with a peculiar aura.
A heart!
It was as large as an adult’s fist, deep red, not repulsive but rather resembling a crystalline red, flickering with a faint ghost light. What was truly peculiar, though, was the “Biological” encased inside—two conjoined infants.
A boy and a girl, both with tender wings on their backs, curled inside a thin membrane.
This scene should have alarmed Tang Qi, but what he felt was a supremely pure Holy Aura, devoid of filth and radiation. It was as if the extreme, primal evil of Leckter left not a trace behind.
The faces of the two infants were nearly blank.
Tang Qi’s magic surged within him, his gaze intensifying, and instantly a ghost light spilled out, a special image materializing.
[Curios: Angel Fruit.]
[State: Intact.]
[Information Fragment One: A highly coincidental creation, unique due to the death of its originator Leckter, making it irreplicable. The fruit was born from the Big Explosion resulting from the collision of high-concentration Light faith, Ancestor Spring, Angel Fetus, Mysterious Light… and other Extraordinary Powers.]
[Information Fragment Two: Fruit usage… Unanalyzable…]
“Hmm?”
A scene that had not occurred for a long time reappeared.
The unanalyzable targets of Tang Qi’s Special Ability were usually either High-level strong individuals or Curios above the Demigod Level.
There were occasionally some “exceptions,” such as the “Mysterious Cocoon,” which remained inscrutable to this day.
Unexpectedly, a fruit also became unanalyzable.
The fruit’s origin was naturally one of the divine Curios that burst forth last night when Leckter fell, unnoticed, scooped up by Tang Qi with Diana’s help.
Almost immediately, Tang Qi’s mind went to the “Ancestor Fruit” he had obtained from Andre Poli, a traitor of the Shepherd Sect. The latter had significant applications, was precious and rare, but Tang Qi was still able to analyze it given his Level and Realm at the time.
The only explanation was that the rank of the Angel Fruit far exceeded that of the Ancestor Fruit.
“Could it also be planted? Plant an angel, harvest a bunch of angels?”
A far-fetched thought arose in Tang Qi as he looked at the fruit.
After fiddling with the fruit for a while with no results and unable to analyze it, Tang Qi had no choice but to put it away into his collection temporarily.
After tallying up his tangible gains, Tang Qi pondered the pros and cons of getting involved in this abrupt war.
“Leckter was of too high a Level; to achieve my goal, I exposed Diana and the Green Dragon Breath, effectively revealing two of my cards to the Federation’s mysterious side. Not only the official and the Church could collect relevant intelligence, but many Extraordinary Organizations have also obtained corresponding information.”
“But I had no other choice. Whether it was the confrontation in Messer City or the subsequent information on the Angel Potion and Angel’s Blood, if Leckter had achieved Divinity, I could almost be certain that I, along with the school and all my friends, would face utter destruction.”
“The biggest gain is that we were able to kill him, hence gaining fame is rather a burden. After all, it doesn’t match my strength. The title of Demigod Slayer is shocking enough, not to mention this battle achievement…”
As if thinking about the many troubles he would face in the future, Tang Qi felt somewhat headache.
The only solace was that large Extraordinary Organizations like the Ancient Castle Bureau, the Church, and the Federation Official could probably discern that this kill seemed very strong, but it was still primarily trickery, far from a true “God Slayer,” especially since Leckter was not yet a god at that time.
While Tang Qi was contemplating his response strategies, the doorbell rang.
At this time, it could only be Professor Eva, the Principal’s assistant, who would come to the Library Tower.
Without any change in expression, Tang Qi accepted the various items Eva brought over, the usual stuff: a few Extraordinary newspapers and magazines, packages and letters from the Ancient Castle Bureau, the Church, and the FBI.
Reading and dealing with them was Tang Qi’s daily work as Principal.
The rest of the tasks were shamelessly left to Professor Eva.
Handing the packages and letters to the three Little Guys, Tang Qi himself took the “Mysterious Daily” and walked over to the sofa with a view of the Green Dragon Ridge Lake.
As soon as he took the newspaper, Tang Qi felt something different.
“This isn’t the Secret Phoenix Chapter, it’s the Federation Chapter?”
As Tang Qi spoke, the newspaper had already transformed into a stream of information, vividly unfolding before him.
At the same time, a brand new “news broadcaster” was born.
It was a noble young lady with a faint ghost light, who bore a striking resemblance to Diana in appearance and even in that noble demeanor, somewhat similar. Just as Tang Qi was lamenting the ethics of the Mysterious Daily, the girl came closer, her voice cool with a hint of mischief.
“Today’s news broadcast from the Mysterious Side, emergency special edition: The battle between the Shepherd’s God and the Evil God Slayer!”
“Last night, a major incident broke out, affecting areas including Eagle’s Nest City, Jiatai City, Delaware City, Secret Phoenix City… and many other large Federation cities. The incident began when the former Cult Organization Shepherd Sect leader Leckter, in cooperation with the Dark Evil God and the Doomsday Sect, attempted to snatch the Lord of Light’s faith in order to recreate the ancient path to godhood…”
“The big event was finally ended by the the Principal of the neutral organization Merada Special Education School in Secret Phoenix City, a young strong individual credited with titles such as Genius Polymath and Demigod Slayer.”
“It is reported that due to the great combat power displayed last night, the principal, who was originally outside the top ten in the ongoing Strongest Transcendents vote in Secret Phoenix City, has gained huge popularity. In just a few hours, he has issued a challenge to the reigning strongest, William O’Neil.”
“The Witch School has entered a special closed state, and our reporters will contact the Principal for an exclusive interview.”
…
As the noble girl recited, Tang Qi had only one feeling at that moment: headache.
