Chapter 421: 405 Soul Will
Chapter 421: Chapter 405 Soul Will
“You’re saying that while Jason was on a mission, he ran into a Federation-wanted Extraordinary Creature, the Hourglass Monster, and almost got killed by it? He only survived because he relied on a large number of Curios from the Tilos Magic Bag.”
Tang Qi slightly turned around to face Rafael’s projection, speaking with a bit of surprise.
Rafael immediately picked up on the unusual tone in Tang Qi’s voice, first nodding affirmatively, then casting a puzzled look.
“Just now, Professor Eva encountered the same Federation-wanted Extraordinary Creature, the Sad Ghost, outside. I arrived too late; Eva was forced to enter the Mysterious and initiate a Professional Trial without any preparation. I have killed the Sad Ghost.”
Tang Qi’s words furrowed Rafael’s brows.
The two exchanged glances, both seeing a trace of doubt in each other’s eyes.
Without any delay, Rafael dialed a special Magic Phone in front of Tang Qi. After only a few sentences of conversation with the person on the other end, Rafael’s expression became even graver.
After hanging up the phone, Rafael directly said to Tang Qi, “The Church has reported that they have discovered traces of the Seeker Saint Family and other Federation-wanted Extraordinary Creatures.”
“The preliminary guess is that something in Secret Phoenix City is attracting these powerful Extraordinary Creatures. Both Eva and Jason’s encounters were collateral damage.”
“Before both we and the Church identify the cause and contain the danger, I suggest that the students and teachers of the Merada Special Education School should not go out lightly, and it might be best to change the location of the Extraordinary Practical Combat Class.”
A solemn suggestion from Rafael.
“Alright!”
Tang Qi didn’t argue, politely agreeing.
While no horrific incidents had erupted yet, by looking at Rafael’s complexion, it was clear that Secret Phoenix City was facing an upheaval.
The Sad Ghost, the Hourglass Monster, the Seeker Saint Family… each, a powerful Extraordinary Creature greatly wanted by the Federation, not even Professional Level Experts were a match for them.
If it were one or two, the probability was low, but it was still possible.
But the current feedback showed that more than one wanted creature was converging in Secret Phoenix City, likely an entire group.
Under such circumstances, nobody would believe there wasn’t some accident brewing.
Rafael’s judgment that something in Secret Phoenix City was attracting these powerful creatures seemed reasonable.
At the same time, Tang Qi also had some terrifying, vague guesses at the bottom of his heart. But the only thing close to “evidence,” that fragment of the Evil God, had already been sacrificed by Tang Qi to the projection of the Master of the Crucible, so naturally, he couldn’t bring it up again.
“Wait for the official Church investigation!”
Having made up his mind, Tang Qi bid farewell to Rafael, refocusing his attention on the books before him.
Rafael came to him, not for help, but to inform him about Jason’s injury. The Ancient Castle Bureau had already started using Curios to treat him, and if not effective, they would even call upon Jason’s mother’s side, powerful individuals from the Tilos Demon Clan.
This second generation of Demon Monster didn’t need Tang Qi to take action.
The one who really needed help was Professor Eva.
Her situation was much more urgent than the injured Jason.
Tang Qi quickly took action, his body flickering in and out of various areas on the third floor of the Library.
By the time he had returned to the fourth floor, he had already picked up a stack of books, each related to “Mysterious,” “Professional Trial,” and also connected to the knowledge of White Witches.
“Although the duration of Professional Trials varies, some people finish in a few hours, others might take days, or even months. Some Extraordinary Creatures, like the Dragon Clan, take even longer when undergoing a similar Promotion, counting the time in years.”
“How long will Eva’s Trial last?”
Various thoughts flickered through Tang Qi’s mind.
If possible, before searching through the books, Tang Qi should seek help from Esmeralda, who is more familiar with Professor Eva.
Unfortunately, just a short while before, he received news from the Tree Demon.
The Witch Group and Sally have both entered the most critical moment; the witches were restoring their Magic Power, while Sally was digesting that portion of the “Origin of Doomsday Magic” within her body by a special method. Both must not be disturbed.
So, at this time, Tang Qi had no choice but to rely on himself.
He sat on the floor, and one after another, the Extraordinary Books were opened before him. Assisted by the magic of elves and Night Beasts, the pages of these books started to flip rapidly. Tang Qi, using his already transformed body, forcibly watched at this pace, absorbing knowledge.
This learning method naturally wouldn’t be very efficient.
However, at this moment, Tang Qi was not pursuing the digestion of all knowledge but was only looking to find critical information to extract a method to aid Professor Eva.
Soon, he was holding a “Mysterious Exploration Diary,” the contents of which revealed a method.
“The diary’s author was a wizard named Bejinum from the Dark Age, who encountered an accident during his Professional Trial and became lost within the endless Mysterious. This caused some unfavorable changes to his body. To save him, his son Lucas also entered the Mysterious, and using their bloodline connection, successfully located his lost father within the Mysterious and brought him back.”
“In the end, both father and son smoothly achieved Promotion to the Professional Level.”
“People entering the Mysterious under different circumstances, if they meet certain conditions, like a strong bloodline connection, can they converge?”
After finishing reading, Tang Qi quickly understood the crux.
This method, he could not use.
Professor Eva, having no blood relatives, and even if she did, it was impossible to find one who could meet the accumulation required for the Professional Trial.
With a slight frown, Tang Qi continued reading.
More and more knowledge about the Mysterious surfaced before his eyes, his expression growing increasingly solemn.
Although these Extraordinary Books contained not just one method that could rescue someone from the “Mysterious” or enhance the chances of passing a Trial.
Unfortunately, these methods either required a Demigod, or even a true Divine themselves to intervene.
Or, they required prior preparation.
Neither of which was applicable to Professor Eva.
“Snap”
Closing a book titled “Detailed Evaluation of Mysterious Creatures,” Tang Qi’s solemn expression eased slightly.
But he did not take any action; the knowledge obtained from the vast number of books did not guarantee that Tang Qi would be successful in helping Professor Eva.
As if thinking of something, Tang Qi returned to the fourth level.
He first confirmed that Professor Eva’s body had not undergone any adverse changes, then directly contacted the fifth group of the FBI, not seeking Berenson but initiating a consultation with Zoe.
The reason?
Like Eva, Zoe was also a White Witch.
Even though it was certain that they belonged to different schools, they should have some rules in common.
Originally, Tang Qi could have used the “Second Body” to have Zoe owe him a favor.
But now that the Witch School and the Investigation Bureau were in a cooperative relationship, just a single consultation, Tang Qi believed Zoe would not refuse.
The outcome was indeed as Tang Qi had expected. Zoe, after listening to Tang Qi’s narration, very enthusiastically provided an answer.
“Mr. Principal, although Professor Eva and I are both White Witches, since our schools are different, so are the rules for Promotion, which causes the environment and challenges we face within the Mysterious to undergo unpredictable changes.”
“The only commonality is the Soul Will.”
“Almost all White Witches, when undergoing their Professional Trial, will face a test of their Soul Will. Most White Witches who fail their trials lose their qualifications at this point.”
“If there’s some way to strengthen Professor Eva’s Soul Will, her chances of passing the trial will be increased.”
From the other end of the phone, Zoe’s voice flowed slowly.
