Chapter 413: Chapter 397: The Truth (Request for monthly ticket!)

Jenny Malfoy’s voice had barely faded when, within the bedroom, two passages silently appeared right before them, a single step would lead them into.

One passage evidently led outside the grand house.

Clearly, this was the option to leave.

The other passage, however, entered into a pitch-black underground cellar. Through the gloom, one could vaguely make out some damp steps, uneven walls, and even deeper, darker areas where not even light could penetrate.

This option was, without a doubt, to meddle in the grievances of the Malfoy family.

Hearing the conversation between Jenny Malfoy and Old Malfoy, and as the “main character” of the incident, Jenny was actually trapped in the underground cellar. She could only come out for a very brief time, and could only hold off Old Malfoy for about a minute.

After a minute, Old Malfoy, along with a horde of undead monsters, would storm in.

If they chose to intervene, they would inevitably have to face Old Malfoy, as well as the unknown dangers deep inside the cellar.

Choosing the other passage would mean a safe departure.

For seasoned Transcendents and adventurers, at such a moment, most would choose to leave.

Risk and reward were not at all equal.

What good would come from helping Jenny Malfoy?

Foreseeably, none.

To leave the Ghost House safely was the best choice; being careful and cautious, sometimes also called cowardly, is actually the secret to why many adventurers are able to keep wandering.

Just as the children were lost in thought.

In Dragon Heart Castle Upper District’s Gray Lighthouse, Tang Qi’s figure suddenly stepped through a portal of Nihility.

“Hu”

When he reappeared, he was surprisingly behind Jenny Malfoy.

She, unaware of his presence.

“Mr. Principal!”

The students exclaimed in surprise, which Jenny likewise ignored.

Illusion Spell!

Tang Qi had pushed this witchcraft to a very high Realm.

Even a High-level Earth-bound Spirit like Jenny Malfoy would not be able to see through it.

Tang Qi did not linger for long. He just smiled at Shay, Noah, and the others, and then said, “After you’ve successfully broken through the limit, found the two journals, and made Jenny appear, the first Extraordinary Practical Combat Class has come to an end.”

“Whether you choose to leave or continue, it will not affect my assessment of you. I’ll be waiting for you outside the town.”

As the last word fell, Tang Qi’s figure vanished once again.

“Are you testing them?”

Watching Tang Qi reappear, Jason suddenly asked.

Tang Qi shook his head and said, “They are just children after all. Having made it this far is already remarkable. What happens next is a sort of extracurricular observation, my words are just to relieve them of their burden and make a choice that follows their own heart.”

When Tang Qi mentioned the word “children,” the three people beside him exchanged glances, each seeing a touch of irony in the others’ eyes.

Before calling others children, shouldn’t one first look at oneself?

Strictly speaking, this Principal is still underage. He’s only a bit older than Shay, and if he didn’t go to places like Old Tavern, a Transcendent bar, in the real world, he would be treated just like Selma in a bar, unable to get a drink.

But recalling this guy’s achievements, even a proud person like Jason had to admit that in the Mysterious Side, minors could be terrifying too.

While the onlookers were snickering, in the main bedroom, the children had already made their choices.

“I choose… to continue!”

The first to speak was Noah.

Then, Shay and the others followed suit, almost none showed a hint of hesitation on their faces; they all resolutely headed towards the passage leading to the underground cellar, with the last one being the lazy and domineering Tate.

Eighteen students, essentially still children, all harbored a shared animosity towards Jenny’s plight.

After Noah took the lead, eighteen figures slowly disappeared into the passage.

Tate stood at the entrance, glanced at Jenny Malfoy, and after becoming an orange cat, the face that had been proudly maintained showed rare warmth. Then he leaped inside with his cat paws splayed out.

With his departure, the originally icy Jenny’s lips toughly, stiffly curled into a barely perceptible smile.

Even as a resentful spirit, Jenny Malfoy lived up to the old newspaper’s description of her as a very beautiful, genius Lolita. Her smile was such that no one could stay indifferent. It’s just a pity that the only ones who could see were the four people inside the Gray Lighthouse.

And swiftly, this beautiful moment was shattered.

“Jenny Bitch, you can’t kill daddy, hahaha…”

The fat pig once again rumbled up from the first floor, the thick black armband with dirty sharp claws emerging from its eye sockets, scraping and emitting sparks.

Behind it, the monsters surged like a tide.

The smile on Jenny’s lips quickly disappeared, and she looked not at Old Malfoy but became more and more ethereal as her ghostly form faded.

“Roar”

Old Malfoy, who came up empty-handed, flapped his black claws across the pig-faced man’s cheeks, roaring with rage.

Then, his extraordinarily stout pig trotters began to stomp on the floor with Giant Force.

“Bang~bang bang bang”

“Jenny, you can’t escape from me, no one can save you, not your cowardly mother, not the police, and not those stupid priests, you belong to daddy, you’re mine…”

“Boom!”

In the midst of the giant pig’s roaring, the master bedroom’s floor shattered.

Old Malfoy, along with a group of monsters, all fell back to the first floor; amidst the dust, it shattered several monsters who did not dodge in time, rushed through the corridor, and then leaped violently, its huge pig head carrying Giant Force, hitting the clearly visible basement entrance.

Again, there was a “bang,” and the wooden entrance exploded, the pig head stuffed entirely inside, just in time to see Tate, who was at the back.

Its sharp-clawed hand attempted to grab Tate’s tail but only received a contemptuous gaze from Tate.

The disdain of an orange cat!

Old Malfoy, in the form of a giant pig, fell into a fury of rage, but its body was too large, completely stuck at the entrance, unable to move.

Aside from roaring and howling, it could do nothing else.

Leaving Old Malfoy behind, everyone slowly descended the staircase down deeper into the ground.

The lights gradually brightened along the walls, revealing some hastily scribbled writing.

“Daddy is so annoying… is this really a game… I have to tell everyone.”

The handwriting was messy and blurred, even the colors were different, as if it was graffitied multiple times.

The faces of several older children grew uglier.

Soon, everyone arrived at the bottom, to a narrow, cozy basement.

The warm light in front flickered on, erasing the sense of gloom.

A desk, a small bed, and some obviously little girl’s decorations and dolls were neatly arranged.

On the pink bed lay a skeleton.

She wore Lolita clothing, and next to her hand lay an empty small bottle.

“Jenny!”

They all realized what had happened, even Noah and Shay, who had remained calm, had expressions of sorrow on their faces.

Immediately after, their gaze fell upon the desk, where there was also a diary.

Noah walked slowly to the desk, picked up the diary, and slowly flipped it open.

“February 1st, mom looks haggard, I really want to help her, but I can’t do anything, I can only pray to the Supreme Light God.”

“April 14th, dad is busy playing cards with his buddies, rarely plays with me, mom also often stays in the prayer room, I feel a bit lonely.”

“April 17th, dad seems to have argued with mom, they are not talking to each other, I don’t know what to do.”

“May 2nd, mom moved to sleep in the prayer room, why is this happening?”

“May 11th, dad suddenly barged into my room, I was changing my clothes at that time, dad said it’s been a long time since we played together, I was very happy to hear that, dad still loves me… something seems not right, dad often comes to my room during this period, it’s strange. Anyway, I feel a bit embarrassed.”

“June 8th, dad told me today we’re going to play a special game, I am very scared… maybe I should talk to mom, although she doesn’t care about me at all.”

“June 28th, I learned from some older friends that what dad is doing is not right, I will refuse to let him do this from now on.”

“August 8th, I thought mom would save me, but… she is even more shameless than dad, yes, more shameless!”

“August 9th, Jenny completely despaired, mom warned me not to tell anyone about this, including my teachers. She said this as dad was smiling at me, that disgusting smile, I don’t want to live anymore… why isn’t anyone coming to save me, why?”

“August 10th, I can’t let them off so easily, I have to think of something, yes, think of something.”

“August 15th, I spent all my pocket money and bought a page of a Spell from a Spirit Medium aunty, the aunty said, as long as I recite it out, the Death God can be summoned, and all the evil souls will be taken away, I should try it, if I fail, I’ll drink the poison, I want to return to the Master’s embrace.”

“Huff~huff huff”

Amidst the angry and swift breathing of everyone, Noah flipped past the second to last page, and a torn fragment suddenly fell out.

The originally warm basement was suddenly enveloped in a gray and dusty light, becoming unreal.

Within the glow, images flickered.

Like a fast-forward old film, presenting a unique texture:

A little girl’s bedroom, Jenny Malfoy resisting her beastly father, the cowardly mother praying, the old butler very scared, robbers breaking in, and while everyone was being killed.

The little girl took the chance to enter the basement, she went to the desk, took the fragment from the diary, and began to recite the Spell written on it, slowly word by word. Just after she finished reciting, the robbers began to smash the basement entrance, the panicked Jenny lay on the bed, drinking the poison.

At the moment of her death, the originally silent fragment released horrifying gray light, in an instant, the entire house was enveloped…

In a flash, the awakened students all looked at the fragment that was supposed to fall to the ground, but now eerily suspended in the air, with eyes filled with horror.

“Let’s get out of here!”

In Noah’s voice, there was unprecedented fear.
