Chapter 410: Chapter 394 Fire Hell
Dark, decrepit servant quarters shuddered violently with that roar, dust fluttering while various objects on the walls and tables were shaken off. Simultaneously, a fiercely menacing aura swiftly filled the interior of the room.
“Tate!”
Shay and the others cried out in unison.
Although they had only spent a brief time together, the children had easily bonded, and given that Tate had adventured with the Principal, he had quite a reputation to boast about. The students had some inkling of his abilities, and upon hearing the Beast’s Roar, they immediately knew something had happened to him.
At the same time, they were all curious in their hearts. Tate had claimed his ability was “Beast Transformation,” but no one had yet seen him transform.
Curiosity was also shared by four individuals standing in front of a mirror in the distant Dragon Heart Castle.
Soon, the mirror faithfully reflected the true scene.
Tang Qi and Jason, along with two others, watched as the frightened Tate, after emitting a roar, found his body enveloped in a violent ghost light, which then began transforming him, eventually solidifying into a somewhat bulky, but very agile animal.
Its entire body was orange, and upon transforming, it turned and pounced towards the source of the scare.
“Huh!”
Tang Qi and the others clearly saw his movements.
But the children only saw an orange Phantom suddenly tackling a hazy, translucent little human figure.
“Ah~”
The figure, appearing also as a child, immediately screamed in terror, especially when her eyes opened to see a “large” head looming over her, baring its teeth; a somewhat chubby paw subtly releasing a peculiar light, pinning her down completely.
This was completely unlike the outcomes of typical “pranks.” She was a ghost, but was actually being physically restrained?
As the little maid screamed in terror, and the children didn’t know what exactly was happening, suddenly from the pitch-black walls, three transparent ghost figures lunged out, all pouncing towards the orange cat Tate had transformed into, their faces panicked and angry.
“Let go of my daughter!”
“Don’t bully my sister!”
“I am angry.”
The three ghosts acted in their roles; a middle-aged maid ghost turned into a rope trying to pull Tate away, a young man dressed in gardener’s clothes jumped onto Tate’s back, trying to strangle him from the neck, and finally, a big and burly chef, declaring his anger, actually puffed up like a balloon, quickly swelling to fill much of the servant quarters, his hands clutching a chef’s knife and a towering white chef’s hat enlarging as well.
Just as the whole room seemed about to burst, a somewhat chilly voice suddenly sounded.
“Stop!”
“Boom”
When Shay spoke, the already small room immediately began to drastically cool, icy air carrying snow, drastically transforming the environment. Although Shay already possessed some self-control, this was still an indiscriminate attack.
The four ghosts were instantly frozen back to their original forms, huddling together shivering.
And the other students all turned white, the only one better off was Tate, whose layer of fat and orange fur proved somewhat beneficial.
Fortunately, Shay quickly came to her senses and retracted the snow and ice. A little boy endowed with Light Element abilities released a warm glow. It hung not far above the heads of the four ghosts, neither harming them nor allowing them to transform and escape.
At this moment, the four ghosts, appearing to be a family, understood that those who had intruded into the house were not ordinary people, but special humans with Extraordinary Power.
The gardener ghost was the quickest to grasp the situation.
Ignoring the dozen children who had yet to act, or the beautiful girl who had released terrifying ice and snow, it was Tate in his fierce orange cat form who had somehow appeared beside them, his body faintly radiating light, proving that despite looking like an ordinary cat, his combat power was incomparable.
Each of them, just ordinary ghosts, were no match for him.
Holding his frightened sister tenderly, he addressed everyone, “Nicole didn’t mean to scare you, she just wanted to drive you away to prevent you from getting hurt by the Evil Spirit. She didn’t know you were Transcendents.”
“We’ve warned Nicole not to meddle anymore, otherwise the Evil Spirit from the big house will cause trouble for our family. But Nicole is too good-hearted. Every time strangers come here, she pretends to be an evil ghost to frighten them away.”
“If we’ve offended you, I apologize on behalf of Nicole, I am her brother, and I’m willing to suffer your punishment.”
The gardener ghost’s words left the dozen people stunned.
Tate, who had been baring his teeth trying to appear fierce, also froze.
This wasn’t what they expected. Do Evil Spirits plead for mercy?
Are they deceiving us because we’re children?
As the dozen pondered this, footsteps sounded.
Among them, Noah, the eldest, slowly approached the family of ghosts. His profession as a Sleeper gave him an immense affinity, irresistible even to ghosts, causing the family to simultaneously lower their guard.
Fortunately, Noah had no intention of harming them.
Noah produced a newspaper, which prominently reported the “Malfoy Mansion Blood Case.” In the deceased column were clearly listed the family in front of him, servants of the Malfoy family, a family of four.
Suddenly seeing their own death notice, all four ghosts showed sorrow.
Then, Noah spoke in a gentle tone, “Do you wish to be freed?”
“Perhaps, we can help you.”
Silently, Noah’s ability was released.
This was not mere hypnosis, but a higher level of ability being employed.
Even the children, acting as observers, believed after hearing it that Noah truly meant to help them with his power.
The four Ghosts whispered together for a moment before the young gardener returned to Noah, taking out an old-fashioned Key from within himself and handing it over to Noah while quietly leaning close to his ear and whispering a few locations.
Afterward, the family of Ghosts, hand in hand, vanished within the house.
“Let’s go!”
The children were still dazed when an orange figure, strolling with a lazy swagger, was the first to exit from the servant’s quarters and head towards the main house.
Is this Tate?
Not just the children, but Tang Qi and Eva were also of the same expression.
As the Principal who personally rescued Tate, Tang Qi knew well that Tate’s character was shy and introverted.
“Could it be that after transformation, his character is also affected?”
Watching Tate, now a bold orange cat, asking Noah for the Key to open the main house’s door, Tang Qi fell into contemplation.
Soon, a chubby cat’s paw swung the main house door open.
The very next moment, everyone clearly saw Tate’s orange fur bristle, and his tail stand tall, as a strong ominous aura poured out. Before Tate could escape, a terrifying force of suction emerged from the main house, wrapping around all the students and swallowing them inside.
Bang!
The mansion’s door slammed shut once more.
…
The sudden turn of events caused the family of ghostly servants to reappear, exchanging looks of confusion.
Meanwhile, in Dragon Heart Castle, within the Gray Lighthouse, both Jason and Professor Eva’s faces changed.
They immediately wanted to rush to the rescue, but Tang Qi stopped them, took hold of the mirror, and a more massive Magic Power surged into it. The mirror, which originally could only show the exterior scene of the main house, suddenly cracked, and the world within the mirror shattered, followed by the inside of the main house appearing.
The four, all at once, looked towards the children.
Now, they finally understood what Tang Qi had meant in his earlier warning.
Their freedom was not restricted, but at this time, none moved.
Because ahead, no matter which path one took—up the stairs, down the hall to the kitchen, through the doorway to the living room—everywhere one looked, there were dead bodies, extremely real as if one could reach out and touch the rotting process.
Stairs, living rooms, corridors, one dead body after another, with different causes of death, all unmistakably those past house owners by their attire.
Furthermore, there were some servants, a dozen children, and, hanging from the chandelier, swinging back and forth, five dead bodies, their body fluids dripping drop by drop onto the expensive flooring, compressing the air, all unmistakably strangled robbers.
As so many real dead bodies began rapidly decaying in front of them, releasing all kinds of nauseating smells, these odors started assaulting the children’s senses and minds.
“Ugh~ugh”
Naturally, a wave of vomiting began.
Transcendents also possess emotions and desires, even more intense than ordinary people.
Out of the eighteen students, only Noah, Nidya, and a few others like Peggy could withstand not vomiting.
The others all threw up thoroughly.
Right as they were vomiting, those dead bodies, without anyone noticing, all opened their eyes.
They stood up and in unison looked towards the children.
At first, their steps were exceedingly slow, just like depicted in some movies or questionable legends about becoming zombie-like Monsters, whose movements are slow.
But at the next moment, foul-smelling Phantoms appeared and swooped down towards the children.
“Come join us!”
“You must… taste delicious.”
“Delicious snacks, so many, I’ll go first, I’ll eat first.”
“There are more friends here, let’s play together.”
“Boom~”
This time, it wasn’t Shay who took action.
It was a young dark-red figure, a Demon’s Tail fiercely whipping through the air, sparking a burst of flames. Luka abruptly stood in front of all his classmates, his horrific and complex patterns seemingly coming alive, his eyes swirling with a magma-like presence.
The next second, flame filled with a rich sulfuric smell suddenly erupted from Luka’s mouth.
All the zombie Monsters, as if having found their Buster, burst into crazed wails.
This sight was like Fire Hell.
The overwhelming foul smells all dissipated, but before the children could show any signs of relief,
“Be careful!”
Noah’s voice, tinged with a hint of terror, suddenly rang out.
