Chapter 402: Chapter 386 Angel Potion

Tang Qi presented Eva with a selection list of eighteen candidates, which, in addition to the newly added Luka and Peggy, also included Tate, whom Tang Qi had previously rescued from the hands of the Lutson family.

The original Colin as well as Drew, also held considerable potential.

However, both of their abilities still require refining before they can be harnessed for practical combat, Tate is somewhat better, although his “Beast Transformation” is not so skilled, he at least tries to control it and transform into a fixed number of beasts.

Moreover, the beasts that Tate transformed into were far more terrifying than real beasts in all aspects.

With the list confirmed, Professor Eva, as the first teaching assistant, had to notify the students and also needed to make some preliminary preparations.

Tang Qi went straight back to the Library Tower, took out the “Beech Wood Token” and a piece of intelligence sent by the Ancient Castle Bureau at the workbench, specially organized by Rafael, summarizing the totality of Extraordinary Creatures belonging to the Chaotic Evil Camp across Secret Phoenix City and its suburbs.

Comparing the two, he selected suitable class locations and practical combat targets.

Tang Qi planned to enter the most important phase: Extraordinary Practical Combat, in the first class.

But finding opponents suitable for the abilities of eighteen students to engage with, neither too strong nor too weak, was obviously not so easy.

His first thought was to check the nearby areas, inside Green Dragon Ridge Lake.

In less than a second, his eyes revealed disappointment, along with a tinge of embarrassment.

The Beech Wood Token, together with the intel from the Ancient Castle Bureau, jointly depicted the current state of Green Dragon Ridge Lake.

The Extraordinary Creatures belonging entirely to the Chaotic Evil Camp had become pitifully scarce.

Not a single one fit the requirements.

The cause of this situation was none other than the Principal, Tang Qi himself.

It wasn’t just inside Green Dragon Ridge Lake, but the nearby shoreline areas were in similar straits, with most intelligent creatures belonging to the Chaotic Evil Camp having chosen to relocate.

Those in the water moved to Saint Martin Lake.

Those on land moved to the farther suburbs, or toward the Main City.

The monsters made such choices, naturally, because they feared death.

That night, the “Sun” like fireball left a severe psychological shadow in the hearts of a large number of Extraordinary Monsters.

“All too cowardly, aren’t they? I’m not even trying to reach the Professional Level now, why run?”

Pressing the two pieces of intelligence, Tang Qi’s gaze swept around, not forgetting to complain at the same time.

As for his real thoughts, he probably lamented that the “fuels” had all run too far, making them less accessible later.

With neither the lake nor the shoreline yielding possibilities, Tang Qi at least continued to broaden the criteria.

But unfortunately, there was a conspicuous shortage of “Extraordinary Creatures” suitable for a dozen fledgling students to practice with.

Compared to Messer City, Secret Phoenix City certainly deserved the status of a metropolis.

The level and number of monsters were far greater.

Yet even so, Tang Qi had not found any to his satisfaction in the moment, only reluctantly listing several as alternatives.

After that, he set down the intelligence, choosing another method.

“Go to the Main City for a field inspection, and if there’s still nothing, the alternatives will have to be used.”

As the thought crossed his mind, Tang Qi stood up, casually opening a portal, with the other side revealing the bustling Main City.

Atop a building dozens of stories high, the gusty winds roared as a ghostly portal appeared abruptly, and four figures emerged from it.

Vaguely, one could see the inside of the elegant and quaint Library Tower at the other end.

Tang Qi, and three companions from the Gluttony faction.

This time, the chosen landing spot provided an excellent vantage point over most of Secret Phoenix City.

Tang Qi’s eyes were completely filled with neon, building after building rising high, forming a massive ring-shaped architectural complex, here with schools, museums, theaters, shopping centers, banks… Standing on high, looking down upon the flowing traffic, Tang Qi felt a strong sense of the bustling urban atmosphere of Earth from his past life.

However, quickly, some contrasting details brought him back to reality.

“After all, it’s another world.”

Sighing softly, Tang Qi suddenly leaped down from the rooftop.

Merging with the wind, his body instantly became a wisp of smoke, drifting towards the streets below.

Before long, Tang Qi, holding Gluttony, walked out of the alley.

He glanced at the iron nameplate at the corner of the street, which read “Blueberry Jam Street.”

Following the street, Tang Qi began to walk.

Even in the bustling Main City, there were dark corners.

And darkness often gives rise to sin and slaughter.

Especially in Secret Phoenix City, with a population of several million, the intense concentration of humans made the return of the Mysterious Side even more intense.

The Bright Church and the Ancient Castle Bureau put together were only like a net with large meshes; they could plug some gaps but couldn’t stop the city’s descent into corruption.

Tang Qi cast an “Illusion Spell” on himself, turning into a person with no presence, gradually traversing many dark corners of the Main City. During this process, indeed, he saw many sins not listed on the “Beech Wood Token” or in the Ancient Castle Bureau’s intelligence.

“Resentful Souls, Ghosts, Skin Bag Monsters, Parasitic Demons, curses…”

As he encountered an increasing density of “Extraordinary” beings, Tang Qi felt as if he could see not just two worlds.

Reality and the Transcendent.

The two are merging at a terrifying speed, and a truly merciless world is brewing.

“I wonder how long the officials and the Church can hold them off?”

Tang Qi shook his head slightly, not optimistic.

Having caught a glimpse of the power of the official forces and the Bright Church, Tang Qi could faintly sense their might.

Undoubtedly powerful.

But as he entered the Professional Level, he felt even more acutely that the return of the Spiritual Tide would create an unprecedented impact. The Abnormalities it spawned were but one threat; what truly terrifying were the billions of eyes from the Exotic Realm that might turn their attention here following the change of rules.

Among them, not lacking were Divine beings.

Even if the official forces and the Church were powerful, they could not possibly contend against the masses of Divine beings.

“Hope it won’t turn into the kind of situation of the Dark Age where human life was so cheap.”

Tang Qi recalled the Extraordinary Books he had read, each describing the Dark Age with terms like cold and cruel. It was an extremely terrifying era.

His sense of urgency was growing heavier.

Not just for himself, but also for the Witch School.

One should never rely solely on a single person, even if that person is Tang Qi.

Merada Special Education School should possess more powerful individuals aside from the Principal.

Tang Qi’s thoughts expanded as he followed a vague sense within his mind towards the main city, into an area where the lights were growing more ambiguous. After using the “Curse Mark” numerous times, Tang Qi’s sensing of Extraordinary Creatures of chaos and evil was sharper than other Professionals.

Entering into a warmly-lit street full of hazy temptation and after turning several corners, Tang Qi abruptly heard sounds of fighting.

Bang!

A youth clad entirely in black was viciously slammed against a wall by a big, thick, and furry arm.

Immediately, blood sprayed from his mouth.

“Damn thing, you’re dead meat.”

The speaker was a rugged big man in a leather jacket, thick with hair, his facial features clearly of a different continent, from a vast but declining nation neighboring the Eternal Heaven Dynasty.

Behind him stood five men of similar attire and demeanor, each emanating a fierce presence.

The one being beaten up wore clothes similar to “Night Clothes,” covered in blood, looking like he had been horribly thrashed, his face so swollen it was unrecognizable. All one could discern was that he was a black-haired youth in his twenties.

“Hand my sister over.”

“Before coming to find you, I had already prepared the evidence. If something happens to me, the police will receive evidence against you and that tycoon behind you the next day.”

Towards the end, the youth spoke more fluently.

He desperately lifted the big man’s sleeve to reveal a bright red tattoo depicting a giant grotesquely devouring a baby.

Clearly, this tattoo was key for the youth to find them.

Upon hearing this, the big man first paused, then burst into loud laughter, “So that’s the reason you’ve been pestering us, trying to find your sister. How touching, but unfortunately…”

As he spoke, the big man leaned in close and whispered in the youth’s ear, immediately igniting a frenzied convulsion in the youth, who gritted his teeth as if he wanted to transform into a mad dog and bite off a chunk of the big man’s flesh.

However, the gap between a Transcendent and an ordinary human was like a chasm.

Even if the big men were the lowest level of Transcendents and the youth possessed top-notch fighting skills among humans,

his struggles were no match for the big man’s feathery punch.

After a muffled sound, Tang Qi clearly heard the noise of organs and bones shattering together.

“Thank our master, he doesn’t like the flesh of men, otherwise you wouldn’t die so easily here.”

“As for your sister, well, she’s probably turned into the finest cutlet, honored to be savored by our master.”

The big man’s words plunged the dying youth into extreme pain. He wanted to fight back, but apart from shaking and making “ho-ho-ho” noises in his throat, he was incapable of anything else.

Just when this cruel scene was about to end,

suddenly, an undisguised footsteps sounded from the entrance of the alley.

The big men looked towards the sound, only to see a high schooler-like young man under the streetlight, dressed in neat and sophisticated clothes, holding a leather case, and approaching with solemnity.

“Excuse me, but I’d like to meet your master. Could you show me the way?”

As Tang Qi made his request, a faint ghost light gathered swiftly in the depths of his eyes, forming a specific image.

[Extraordinary Creatures: Blood Slave.]

[State: Normal.]

[Information Fragment One: Having consumed a much diluted “Angel’s Blood,” they have gained superhuman physique, strength and other attributes, with the side effect of being utterly unable to betray their master, and they will also die if their master dies.]

[Information Fragment Two: The so-called Angel’s Blood refers to Transcendents who have taken the “Angel Potion.”]

[Information Fragment Three: The Angel Potion is the… ultimate version of the “Evil Flower Potion.”]

“Evil Flower?”

This familiar term didn’t give the big men any time to react. As his words fell, Tang Qi instantly cast “Red.”
